When a input image is extensively magnified on the computer system, it is almost impossible to replicate the original shape because of mismatched coordinates system. In order to resolve the problem, the shape of the magnified image has been reconfigured using the bilinear interpolation method, low pass special filtering interpolation method and B-spline interpolation method, Ferguson curve interpolation method based on the CAD/CAM curve interpolation algorithm. The computer simulation main result was that. Nearest neighbor interpolation method is simple in making the interpolation program but it is not capable to distinguish the original shape. Bilinear interpolation method has the merit to make the magnified shape smooth and soft but calculation time is longer than the other method. Low pass spatial filtering method and B-spline interpolation method has an effect to immerge the intense of the magnified shape but it is also difficult to distinguish the original shape. Ferguson curve interpolation method has sharping shape than B-spline interpolation method.
In the original plant of Arisaematis Rhizomas, the features of external and internal shape of Arisaema amurense var. serratum $N_{AKAI}$ and A. amurense $_{MAXIM}$. are as follows. 1. In the external shape of original plant, Arisaema amurense var. serratum $N_{AKAI}$ has high stem, an oval-elliptic leaflet and a serrate leaf margin. But A. amurense $M_{AXIM}$ has a relatively low stem, an upside oval leaflet and no serrate leaf margin. 2. On the herbs character of original plant, Ansaema amurense var. serratum $N_{AKAI}$ is small in height and diameter, but A. amurense $M_{AXIM}$ is relatively large in height and diameter. 3. On the gathered herbs character of original plant, the section of Arisaema amurense var. serratum $N_{AKAI}$ is brightly white, easily spilt and strong scent. But the section of A. amurense $M_{AXIM}$ is thin yellowish brown, not easily spilt and weak scent. Also the grade of gathered herbs, both can be classified by diameter and external scent. 4. In the current herbs character, Korean and Sichuan Province products are irregullar shape and have no scent, Jilin Province products are regular shape. Also, Guangxi Province products are small size and concave in one side, Hebei Province products are irregular size and shape. 5. In internal shape of original plant, epidermal cell of Arisaema amurense var. serratum is very tight. With the except of micro difference in parenchyma cell of cortex, on the whole there are nearly no differences with A. amurense $M_{AXIM}$. Also, samely in the internal shape, according to collecting sites, epidermis exhibits a lot layer in curving state and secreting duct is developed and vascular bundle and exists between parenchyma cell of cortex. In the future, additional study is needed to distinguish herb and effect between same genus-degree of relatedness.
In this paper, a new analytic approach for shape preserving contrast enhancement is presented. Contrast enhancement is achieved by means of segmental histogram stretching modification which preserves the given image shape, not distorting the original shape. After global stretching, the image is partitioned into several level-sets according to threshold condition. The image information of each level-set is represented as typical value based on grouped differential values. The basic property is modified into common local schemes, thereby introducing the enhanced effect through extreme discrimination between subsets. The scheme is based on stretching the histogram of subsets in which the intensity gray levels between connected pixels are approximately same In spite of histogram widening, stretched by local image information, it neither creates nor destroys the original image, thereby preserving image shape and enhancing the contrast. By designing local histogram stretching operations, we can preserve the original shape of level-sets of the image, and also enhance the global intensity. Thus it can hold the main properties of both global and local image schemes, which leads to versatile applications in the field of digital epigraphy.
When waterlogged wood dries up, it shrinks largely. And it is hard to recover original shape. Therefore it happens to lose the value of wood remains frequently. This paper studied how far dried waterlogged wood can recover original shape. Shape recovering course and extent are thoroughly investigated after waterlogged wood of Pinus densiflora, Quercus serrata and Styrax japonica oven-dries and instills varieties of test solution. At 1- step, oven-dried samples infiltrated by chlorous acid sodium or sodium hydroxide solution. At 2- step, wood tissues of samples were swelled by the fast decompression after infiltrating $CO_2-supercritical$ fluid at high pressure. The study investigated the possibility of shape recovering in waterlogged wood. Shape recovering rate is different with solution and wood species. Sample of sodium hydroxide solution doesn't swell anymore when using $CO_2-supercritical$ fluid. In general, the sample of sodium hydroxide solution has higher Shape recovering rate than $CO_2-supercritical$ fluid solution treated by chlorous acid sodium.
Variational methods, which cast deformation as an energy-minimization problem, are known to provide a good trade-off between practicality and speed. However, the time required to deform a fully detailed shape means that these methods are largely unsuitable for real-time applications. We simplify a 2D shape into a curve skeleton, which can be deformed much more rapidly than the original shape. The curve skeleton also provides a simplified control for the user, utilizing a small number of control handles. Our system deforms the curve skeleton using an energy-minimization method and then applies the resulting deformation to the original shape using linear blend skinning. This approach effectively reduces the size of the variational optimization problem while producing deformations of a similar quality to those obtained from full-scale nonlinear variational methods.

Shape reconstruction is considered as a new technology to be useful and important in many areas such as RPD (Rapid Product Development) and reverse engineering, compared with the conventional design and manufacturing. In shape reconstruction, it becomes possible to reconstruct objects not by their measured shape data but those data extracted from the original shape. The goal of this research is to realize 3D shape construction by showing a possible way to analyze the input image data and reconstruct that original shape. The main 2 steps of the reconstructing process are getting cross-section data from image processing and linking loops between one slice and the next one. And the reconstructed object in this way is compared with the other object using a laser scanner and modelled by an commercial software.
A goal of this study is to explore the relationship between original shape and human emotion. To this end, a 3-way layout experiment is conducted, whose goal is to find the effect of polishness on the image of cubics. The analysis of the experiment result reveals some differences among the involved factors. This study may contribute to the development of a design system at design-related workplace.
As a preliminary design study to achieve target aerodynamic performance, this work was conducted on an original nozzle with 9 flutes in order to design a fluted nozzle with 12 flutes. The thrust and rolling moment of the nozzle with 12 flutes were analyzed using a CFD code according to the depth and rotation angle of the flutes. Based on this, a fluted nozzle with 12 flutes was optimized to yield the same thrust as that of the original nozzle with 9 flutes. The response surface method was applied for shape optimization of the fluted nozzle and design variables were selected to determine the depth angle and rotation angle of the flutes. An optimized shape that led to a thrust as strong as that of the original nozzle was obtained.

This study presents a way to construct 3D shape in STL format from 2D slice data. Nowadays ahape reconstruct has been done in many ares, the application of this method is important especially in Reverse Engineering which reconstructs original shape from cross-section data. Current RP (Rapid Prototyping) is used not only for the verification of a part designed but also for the production and tooling in more effective way. In RP technology, data should be prepared in STL format. In this paper, the way to make 3D shape data in STL format form 2D slice data is described which can be used to reconstruct an original shape in RP equipment.
In this paper an extension to an original active shape model(ASM) for facial feature extraction is presented. The original ASM suffers from poor shape alignment by aligning the shape model to a new instant of the object in a given image using a simple similarity transformation. It exploits only informations such as scale, rotation and shift in horizontal and vertical directions, which does not cope effectively with the complex pose variation. To solve the problem, new shape alignment with 6 degrees of freedom is derived, which corresponds to an affine transformation. Another extension is to speed up the calculation of the Mahalanobis distance for 2-D profiles by trimming the profile covariance matrices. Extensive experiment is conducted with several images of varying poses to check the performance of the proposed method to segment the human faces.
