Objectives: The purpose of this study is to report the efficacy of applying Korean medical treatment to chronic gastritis. Methods: We treated a chronic gastritis patient with Korean medical treatments (herbal medicines, acupuncture, and herbal acupuncture therapy). To evaluate the results of this treatment, we took measurements using the Gastrointestinal Symptom Rating Scale and Visual Analogue Scale for abdominal pain, heartburn, nausea, and abdominal distension. The patient's generic health status was evaluated using the European Quality of Life 5 Dimensions Scale. Results: Improvements in gastrointestinal symptom ratings and the European Quality of Life 5 Dimensions Scale were observed after the treatments. Relief of symptoms was observed in abdominal pain, heartburn, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal distension using the Visual Analogue Scale. Conclusions: This study suggests that Korean medicine may be effective in the treatment of chronic gastritis.

Objectives : This report was performed to observe the effects of bloodletting therapy on the rhinitis patients. Methods : 2 patients with rhinitis were treated by bloodletting therapy. We evaluated the pre-and post-treatment symptoms by NRS(numbering rating scale) and TNSS(total nasal symptom score). Results : After treatment, the symptoms of rhinitis and NRS were decreased and TNSS was improved. Conclusions : Bloodletting therapy in nasal cavity is effective to Rinitis.

Objectives : Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder(ADHD) is a psychiatric disorder, characterized by the primary symptoms of inattention and/or impulsivity and hyperactivity. the aim of this study is to investigate the clinical efficiency of Various Oriental Medical Therapy combinated with Learning therapy in the treatment of ADHD. Methods : This study is a clinical report of 1 ADHD child treated with Various Oriental Medical Therapy(Herb-med, acupunture, etc.) in Combination with Learning therapy. CAR(Conner's abbreviated Rating Scale), K-CBCL, ADS(ADHD Diagnostic System) were compared between before and after treatment. Results : The results show the Various Oriental Medical Therapy in Combination with Learning therapy is efficient in the treatment of ADHD. Conclusions : Various Oriental Medical therapy including herb-med, pharmacopuncture, electroacupuncture is efficient in improvement of ADHD child. also In case of combination with Learning therapy, it is more effective in child's school life and school work. therefore, it is practical useful in the treatment of ADHD.

Objectives: Oriental Medicine has thousands years of history. But this era, every medical decision should be based on scientific evidence, that is evidence-based medicine (EBM). This study is to suggest quantitative case report form for dysmenorrhea that can be easily used in clinics. Methods: First, to search published papers in Korea and overseas, OASIS, KISS and NCBI(pubmed) database. Second, to search clinical trials in clinical trial register website, ISRCTN and clinicaltrials.gov. Result: Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) is the most commonly used scale. Conclusion: The main scales for dysmenorrhea are Visual Analogue Scale(VAS), Multidimensional verbal Rating scale(MVRS), pain-killer intake amount and restriction of daily life activities. To measure the effect of herbal medicine, more than 2 menstrual cycle is recommended.

Variant angina causes chest pain due to abnormal coronary vasospasms. A 60-year-old male who was diagnosed with variant angina was admitted to the Oriental Medicine Hospital and treated with herbal medicines, including Pyungjinsujeom-san and Simjeok-hwan. After treatment, the frequency of chest pain and use of nitroglycerin decreased. Subjective symptoms of chest pain measured using a numerical rating scale (NRS) also decreased. These improvements persisted throughout the hospitalization period. In conclusion, Korean medicines, including Pyungjinsujeom-san and Simjeok-hwan, can be effective for patients with chest pain due to variant angina.

The aim of this study is to investigate the clinical efficiency of the oriental medical therapy combined with art therapy in the treatment of ADHD. Methods: This study is clinical reports of 3 patients with ADHD who are being treated with the oriental medical therapy (Herb-med, acupuncture) and art therapy. K-ARS (Korean ADHD Rating Scale) was compared before and after 1 month of treatment. Results: The Oriental medical therapy including herb-med and acupuncture is effective in improving ADHD patients. Also, art therapy is effective in decreasing patients' anxiety and tension and helpful for patients themselves to make an objective observation. Therefore, it is practically useful in the treatment of ADHD. Conclusions: The results show the oriental medical therapy in combination with art therapy is effective in the treatment of ADHD.

Objective: To report the effect of an oriental medicine treatment, including chuna manual therapy, for a patient suffering with spondylolytic spondylolisthesis. Methods: One patient was treated by oriental medical treatment including acupuncture, pharmacopuncture, and chuna manual therapy and the results were assessed with a Numerical Rating Scale (NRS), walking distance, and radiological examination. Results: After treatment, the NRS changed from 6 to 2 and walking distance changed from 250 m to 1000 m. Conclusions: In this study, oriental medical treatment, including chuna therapy, was an effective treatment for patients with spondylolytic spondylolisthesis. However, additional studies are needed, as are more and observations of these patients.

The object of this study is to report a clinical effect regarding the conservative treatment of the patients who were diagnosed as the herniated intervertebral lumbar disc(HIVD). The patients were treated by the oriental medical conservative treatment including acupunture, Bee venom therapy and Chu-na therapy. We estimated by visual analogue scale and pain rating score subjectively. And we examined the patients with SLR test and valsalva test. Oriental medical conservative treatment improved HIVD subjuctively and objectively.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the clinical application of oriental medical therapy to a patient with memory disorders and quadriparesis caused by traffic accident. Methods: This study was carried out on a patient who was admitted to the Sangji oriental medical hospital, from January 21st in 2002 to May 2nd in 2002. We used 4 kinds of diagnosis(watching, asking, hearing, and toughing) and treated the patient with herbal medication and acupuncture therapy. Then we estimated the effect of memory disorders through MMSE-K(Mini mental State Examination-Korea) and K-DRS(Korean-Dementia Rating Scale). The numerical effect demonstrated ability of movement through range of motion. Results: Following the treatment the patient's mental state and the ability of movement improved. Conclusions: The present results suggest that oriental medical therapy has the positive effects on a patient with memory disorders and quadriparesis which were caused by traffic accident.

The results show the typical Oriental Medical Tberapy in Combination with Neurofeedback is efficient in the treatment of ADHD.
