    • To investigate the effects of ESWTT on rheumatoid arthritis in collagen-induced arthritis mice model, the animals were orally administrated with the extract following by analyzing the changes of lymphocyte composition in spleen with flow cytometry. These results suggest as follows; 1. ESWTT decreased the total cell number of spleen at 400 and 200 mg/kg about 41% and 32%, respectively. 2. ESWTT reduced the number of CD19+ cells in spleen at 400 and 200 mg/kg about 51% and 46%, respectively. 3. ESWTT down-regulated the number spleen CD3+ cells approximately 26% at 400 mg/kg-treated group. 4. ESWTT decreased the number of CD3+/CD69+ cells in spleen at 400 and 200 mg/kg about 79% and 76%, respectively. 5. ESWTT reduced the number of CD4+ and CD8+ cells in spleen, however, the results were not significant. 6. ESWTT decreased the number of CD4+/CD25+ cells in spleen at 400 and 200 mg/kg about 60% and 56%, respectively. Taken together these results, ESWTT has an efficacy on rheumatoid arthritis through inhibiting the proliferation of lymphocytes such as B and T cells.

Methods: Riss (Research Information Sharing Service) was searched for Oriental medicine about PCO on 2000~2014. So, Experimental studies using PCO model induced by Estradiol Valerate (EV) was selected to analyze how effects they were. Consequently, 10 studies published on 2000~2014 were selected to analyze about weight of model and both ovaries, the number aries, the number of follicle and corpus of follicle and corpus luteum, the level of serum Androstenedione (ADD) and total estrogen, the level of Nerve Growth Factor (NGF) and Corticotropin Releasing Factor (CRF), the crossover rate and the number of implantation. Results: Among them, there was significantly difference between treatment group and control group in weight of both ovaries, the number of follicle and corpora lutea, the crossover rate and the number of implantation. Conclusions: The effects of Herb medication was observed on making weight of ovaries with PCO to promote. The study about effect of Herb medication on NGF and CRF with PCOS had to be conducted. Methods: We surveyed 948 women from 35 to 45 years old who had received Korean oriental medical questionnaires about general symptom pattern and pelvic ultrasonography at Kyung-Hee university medical center from May, 2007 to October, 2008. After we divided women into three groups (Mono-uterine myoma, Bi-uterine myoma & uterine myoma above 3) by ultrasonography result, we compared general symptom pattern according to the number of uterine myoma. For statistics, we used Kruskal-Wallis Test, SPSS 13.0 for windows. Results: In relation to sleep pattern, severity of dreaming & awaking showed statistical significance according to the number of uterine myoma. In relation to digestion pattern, appetite & heartburn showed statistical significance according to the number of uterine myoma. In relation to evacuation pattern, hardening of stool showed statistical significance according to the number of uterine myoma. In relation to sweating pattern, severity of refreshing after sweating showed statistical significance according to the number of uterine myoma. In relation to the other patterns, hypertonicity of nape neck showed statistical significance according to the number of uterine myoma(p<0.05). Conclusion: The result showed that prevalence of uterine myoma had to be considered in respect of sleep, digestion, evacuation and sweating pattern. we need further study based on this preliminary result.

    • Geukhachukeutang is used to cure blood stasis in Oriental Medicine. In order to investigate medical value on intravascula coagulation and contusion blood stasis, the effect of Platelet number, Fibrinogen quantity, Prothrombin time, FOP density, Paw edema increasing rate after prescribing Geukhachukeutang concentration liquid orally were observed. The obtained results are summerized as follows ; 1. Platelet number and Fibrinogen quantity are significantly increased, and Prothrombin time and FOP density are significantly decreased by Geukhachukeutang after inducing intravascula coagulation. 2. Platelet number and Fibrinogen quantity are not significantly increased, and Prothrombin time is not significantly decreased either, by Geukhachukeutang after inducing contusion blood stasis but Paw edema increasing rate is remarkablely decreased in three or four hours of the groups of prescribing. According to the above results, Geukhachukeutang will be used for contusion blood stasis and Intravascula coagulation effectively owing to being accepted as a favorable operation on Platelet number, Fibrinogen quantity, Prothrombin time, FDP density and Paw edema increasing rate.

    • In order to investigate the effects of JHG on immune cells in BALF, clinically prescribed JHG was tested using OVA induced asthma animal model. The results are shown below: 1. JHG significantly reduced the total number of cells in BALF compared to that of the control at 400 mg/kg doses. 2. JHG significantly reduced the number of CD3+/CD69+ cells in BALF at 400 and 200 mg/kg doses. 3. JHG significantly reduced the number of CCR3+ cells in BALF at 400 and 200 mg/kg doses. 4. JHG significantly reduced the number of B220+/CD22+ cells in BALF at 400 and 200 mg/kg doses. 5. JHG significantly reduced the number of B220+/IgE+ cells in BALF at 400 and 200 mg/kg doses. 6. JHG significantly reduced the number of B220+/CD45+ cells in BALF at 400 and 200 mg/kg doses. From the results above, anti-asthmatic efficacy of JHG through anti-oxidative activity as well as immune control activity has been experimentally proven. In depth study of JHG on various pathological factors and individual drug contents of JHG should follow.
