The purpose of this study was to improve efficacy of oral health education in children and adolescents based on the experience and perception of oral health education in young adults who graduated from high school within 10 years. Questionnaires were given to 412 people, and among them, 388 completed survey forms were selected. The questionnaire included categories which examined one's experience and perception of oral health education, oral health knowledge, dental history, and oral health behavior. The results showed that the respondents perceived elementary school as the most effective period of oral health education. Oral examination with direct explanation was the most preferred method of oral health education, but web search was the main source of oral health information. And knowledge of fluoride and sealant about caries preventive effect was still lacking. Considering these results, oral examination with direct explanation and web search would be useful to improve efficacy of oral health education in children and adolescents.
To improve oral hygiene management, the effects of toothbrush training on general oral hygiene based on the simplified oral hygiene index(S-OHI) and degree of knowledge about toothbrushing were examined. Pre-and post-training changes in the S-OHI (lower score = better oral health status) showed a significant decrease in score in all variables (gender, age, marital status, occupation, and level of education).Pre- and post-training changes in the degree of knowledge about toothbrushing showed a significant increase. Negative correlations between the S-OHI, oral health status, and degree of knowledge about toothbrushing and the S-OHI and the Decayed, Missing, Filled (DMF) index (the better the oral cavity environment, the lower the DMF index) were observed. Positive effects of repeated toothbrush training on the maintenance of healthy oral cavity environment and continuous oral health management were observed, as reflected by the correct toothbrushing-related knowledge and skills.
Objectives: This study aimed to analyze the relationship between the socioeconomic status and oral health of adults. Methods: Data from the 7th Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (2016-2018) were analyzed, and 13,199 adults aged 19 years or older were selected as study subjects. Various oral health indicators were used to analyze the effect of socioeconomic status on oral health. Disparities in oral health according to socioeconomic status were analyzed using the complex sample chi-squared test and multiple logistic regression analysis. Results: A statistically significant difference was observed between income level, medical aid, and all oral health indicators, which indicated that the lower the income level, the lower the oral health level (p<0.001). Furthermore, all oral health indicators displayed statistically significant differences, with the exception of the prevalence of dental caries and education level. The lower the education level, the lower the oral health level (p<0.001). Therefore, the oral health level of adults presented significant differences according to different socioeconomic status indicators. Conclusions: To prevent oral health inequalities, the government and local governments need to intervene not only in the field of health care but also in the social determinants. Additionally, concerted efforts should be made to eliminate oral health disparities by improving policies and systems.

Methods: The subjects were college students who agree to participate in research Cheonan, Daegu, Ulsan. 314 college students were fill out the questionnaire themselves. Results were analyzed by using frequency, t-test, ANOVA, correlation Analysis and regression analysis of SPSS program ver. 21.0. Results: Oral impact on daily performances(OIDP) of influence Factors is as follows: The male is nicotine dependence, toothache and female is subjective oral health status, grade. Male have a positive effect on the quality of life relating to oral health when lower the nicotine dependence. Meanwhile, female have a positive effect on the quality of life relating to oral health when better the subjective oral health status and lower the grade. Both male and female have a positive effect on the quality of life relating to oral health when no more toothache. Conclusions: In this study, there was a difference in the factors affecting the quality of life relating to oral health according to gender. Therefore, oral health care measures should be a difference according to gender. Male's oral health promotion programs should be considered in conjunction with non-smoking education. For this purpose, 269 elders who dwelled in Gyeongsangbuk-do region were randomly selected in an arbitrary selection process, followed by a survey on their oral hygiene and health. The collected data were coded and processed by using SPSS 15.0 software. As for the analysis of the data, the general characteristics and the basic items concerning the management of the oral health were analyzed for their frequency and percentages, while the general characteristics and the awareness on the oral health were processed with Chi-square validation to show a set of results as follows; Firstly, among the items on the oral health, the satisfaction on the current condition of their oral health was below average. Secondly, concerning the oral hygienic behaviors, the majority of the samples answered that they were brushing their teeth twice a day. And, as for the brushing methods, the largest number of the samples answered that they were brushing their teeth in a 'horizontal direction'. Thirdly, they reported they were having difficulties in getting dental treatments. The implications of this study are that it is necessary to provide sound oral health education to them to correct the inappropriate oral hygienic behaviors.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the perception, practice status and perceived oral health awareness of oral hygiene products in high school students and to utilize it as basic data for the development of programs that can use the correct oral hygiene products. The results of the self -filling questionnaire survey of 260 high school students in K area were as follows. (P <0.05), which showed a positive correlation with subjective oral health perception (p <0.05). his implies the need for education of oral hygiene products for proper practice in using oral hygiene products. The use of oral hygiene products was the highest in 1/3, but in practice, the total use was highest. It is thought that oral health education program that can affect not only the oral health education but also the practice is needed. For the students who have difficulty in accessing medical institutions due to their studies, the way to acquire oral health education is more important than the development of public health education programs and the implementation of oral health education.

The findings of the study were as follows; 1. The current kindergarten curriculum just stated that kindergarteners should keep their teeth clean, and no systematic guidelines on what to teach were included. That was hardly expected to provide efficient education on oral health promotion. 2. Preschoolers, teachers and parents were investigated to find out learner needs, and educational objects and what to teach were selected based on their needs and Tyler's Curriculum Development Theory. 3. Most of the early childhood teachers felt the need for oral health education, but faced difficulties in conducting it due to heavy workload. Another reason seemed that they were empowered to provide that education at their option since that was not mandatory. 4. As a result of analyzing the early childhood segments and educational objects of college textbooks on oral health education, every textbook differed from one another. There was a necessity to set up standardized educational objects for early childhood oral health education. 5. Oral health specialists should be involved in the development of early childhood curriculum to ensure the selection of standardized educational objects and contents.

The purpose of this study was to assess the level of awareness regarding the relationship between systemic diseases and oral health and the importance of education related to this association among dental patients, as well as to identify factors that affect the awareness of the relationship and the perceived need for education. This study was conducted from June 2016 to February 2017. Subjects of this study included outpatients (20-60 years old) from a dental clinic, and only patients who agreed to the survey were included. A total of 110 subjects were included, but the final analysis was based on 92 questionnaires, excluding questionnaires that were inaccurate. Survey questionnaires were completed by self-report and face-to-face interviews with a dental hygienist. The questionnaires covered basic information, awareness of the association between general and oral health, and experience with, and need for education related to, this association. Among the subjects, 48.9% were aware of the association between systemic diseases and oral health. A total of 39.1% of subjects had received education regarding the relationship between systemic diseases and oral health. Subjects who visited dental clinics regularly were 3.94 times (95% confidence intervals [CI]: 1.21-12.84) more likely to be aware of the association between oral health and disease compared with subjects who made only irregular visits to dental clinics. In addition, experience or education was significantly associated with awareness of the relationship between oral health and disease (odds ratio [OR]: 4.64, 95% CI: 1.54-13.93) and the need for education (OR: 3.98, 95% CI: 1.20-13.12). Thus, the dental professionals should provide education on the relationship between oral health and systemic disease in dental clinics to improve patients' awareness and oral health behaviors. These results can be used to strengthen education in the dental clinic.
