고속의 유효전력 최적조류계산 알고리즘 (A Fast Optimization Algorithm for Optimal Real Power Flow)

  • A fast optimization algorithm has been evolved from a simple two stage optimal power flow(OPF) algorithm for constrained power economic dispatch. In the proposed algorithm, we consider various constraints such as power balance, generation capacity, transmission line capacity, transmission losses, security equality, and security inequality constraints. The proposed algorithm consists of four stages. At the first stage, we solve the aggregated problem that is the crude classical economic dispatch problem without considering transmission losses. An initial solution is obtained by the aggregation concept in which the solution satisfies the power balance equations and generation capacity constraints. Then, after load flow analysis, the transmission losses of an initial generation setting are matched by the slack bus generator that produces power with the cheapest cost. At the second stage we consider transmission losses. Formulation of the second stage becomes classical economic dispatch problem involving the transmission losses, which are distributed to all generators. Once a feasible solution is obtained from the second stage, transmission capacity and other violations are checked and corrected locally and quickly at the third stage. The fourth stage fine tunes the solution of the third stage to reach a real minimum. The proposed approach speeds up the coupled LP based OPF method to an average gain of 53.13 for IEEE 30, 57, and 118 bus systems and EPRI Scenario systems A through D testings.

  • This paper is concerned with an application of Parallel Genetic Algorithms(PGA) to optimal econmic load dispatch(ELD) in power systems. The ELD problem is to minimize the total generation fuel cost of power outputs for all generating units while satisfying load balancing constraints. Genetic Algorithms(GA) is a good candidate for effective parallelization because of their inherent principle of evolving in parallel a population of individuals. Each individual of a population evaluates the fitness function without data exchanges between individuals. In application of the parallel processing to GA, it is possible to use Single Instruction stream, Multiple Data stream(SIMD), a kind of parallel system. The architecture of SIMD system need not data communications between processors assigned. The proposed ELD problem with C code is implemented by SIMSCRIPT language for parallel processing which is a powerfrul, free-from and versatile computer simulation programming language. The proposed algorithms has been tested for 38 units system and has been compared with Sequential Quadratic programming(SQP).

  • This Paper presents an application technique for solving the Security Constrained Economic Dispatch(SCED) problem using the Interior Point Method. The optimal power flow solution is obtained by optimizing the given generation cost objectives function subject to the system security constraints. The proposed technique is applied to a prototype 6-bus system for evaluation and test.

  • This paper presents a new systematic approach to find a global solution to economic dispatch (ED) with multiple fuel units using a function merger (FM). Currently, no systematic approach has been developed to find a global solution to economic dispatch with multiple fuel units. Various heuristic methods have been proposed, however it is almost impossible to guarantee a global solution by those methods yet. The proposed method uses the FM and $\lambda$-P functions. A FM merges several fuel cost functions into one that satisfies the optimal conditions of an ED. The FM procedures are described in detail with illustrative examples.

  • This paper proposes a coordinated control method for under-load tap changers (ULTCs) with shunt capacitors to reduce the operation numbers of both devices. The proposed method consists of two stages. In the first stage, the dispatch schedule is determined using a genetic algorithm with forecasted loads to reduce the power loss and to improve the voltage profile during a day. In the second stage, each capacitor operates according to this dispatch schedule and the ULTCs are controlled in real time with the modified reference voltages considering the dispatch schedule of the capacitors. The performance of the method is evaluated for the modified IEEE 14-bus system. Simulation results show that the proposed method performs better than a conventional control method.

  • This paper presents the Two-Phase Neural Network(TPNN) to slove the Optimal Economic Environmental Dispatch problem of thermal generating units in electric power system. The TPNN, Compared with other Neural Networks, is very accurate and it takes smaller computer time for a optimization problem to converge. In this work, in order to provide useful information to the system operator, we are used the total environmental weight and relative weighting of individual insults(e.g., $SO_2$, $NO_X$ and $CO_2$) also, presented the simulation results of the dispatch changes according to the weights. The Two-Phase Neural Network is tested on a 11-unit 3-pollutant system to prove of effectiveness and applicability.

  • This paper deals with the optimal dynamic dispatch problem owing to spinning-reserve and power-rate limits. Two computational modules are used in the solution of the problems. The first is an efficient dispatch module for the consideration of reasonable spinning-reserve requirements. The latter os the Lagrange multipliers adjusting module, which is satisfying the Kuhn-Tucker conditions for power-rate constraints. The proposed algorithm obtains very fast solution speed and maintains good accuracy from test examples.

  • This paper presents a method of minimizing of generation cost on individual electrical power utility. The method is based on the Economic Dispatch (ED) and linear Available Transfer Capability (ATC). The economic dispatch redistributes the total load to individual units to minimize the generation cost without transmission network constraints. The proposed method is implemented using ATC calculated from Power Transfer Distribution Factor (PTDF) for the transmission network constraints. The performance of the proposed method has been tested for the IEEE-30 bus system. It has also been observed that the results of the proposed method is compared with that of optimal power flow.

  • According to increase in electric power demand, the increasing rate of peak load compared with that of base load grows larger every year. Thus this paper deals with the optimal dynamic dispatch problem due to power rate limits and spinning reserve with loss or without loss. The first is adjusting module for gradual change of generator power by Object-Oriented Programming. The latter is an efficient dispatch module for the consideration of reasonable spinning reserve requirements. The proposed algorithm has been shown efficiency in real power system with loss.
