영상분할을 이용한 의학영상에서의 심장혈류 측정 (The Estimation of Blood Velocity from Heart in Medical Images using Regional Segmentation)

  • In this paper, we propose a non-invasive method to estimate blood velocity from the real medical images. To measure the magnitude and direction components associated with the blood velocity, we apply the optical flow analysis algorithm. It is demonstrated that the accuracy of the blood velocity estimate could possibly be increased by segmenting the optical flow region. We call this the Region Optical Flow(ROF) algorithm. We carried out some preliminary experiments using the aorta medical images, and corresponding regional optical flow diagrams are provided.

  • 최근 광통신의 발전은 광 통신 소자의 제작시 집적화, 소형화, 경량화 그리고 저가격화를 원하게 되었다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해, 기판 위에 광소자를 집적하는 미세 광학 벤치 (Micro Optical Bench)에 대한 많은 연구가 진행되고 있는 중이다. MEMS(Micro Electro Mechanical System) 공정기술인 벌크(bulk) 마이크로 머시닝 기술을 이용함으로서 하나의 기판 위에 광소자들을 조립하는 미세 광학 벤치를 구현 할 수 있다. (중략)

광섬유를 이용한 컬러TV신호 3채널의 주파수 분할 다중 전송시험

  • Frequency division multiplexed 3ch. Color TV signals have been transmitted via optical fiber by employing $1. 3\mum$ InGaAsP DH-laser diode, graded index optical fiber and Ge-APD as optical components. Overall system margin of 20 dB was realized at weighted SNR of more than 49 dB. With this system margin, measured DG and DP were less than 10% and $5^{\circ}$respectively. Throughout this experiment, it was confirmed that multichannel TV signals could be economically transmitted over optical fiber in short haul networks. This paper describes system outlines and hardware implementation results.

  • All-optical networks are emerging as a promising technology for per second class communication. However, they are intrinsically different from electro-optical networks, particularly because they do not regenerate signals in the networks. The characteristics of all-optical network components and architectures manifest and still unstudied security vulnerabilities but also offer a new array of possible countermeasures. In this paper, we have analysed the security issue to protect against intrusion.

  • Terahertz time-domain spectroscopy has been used to study the optical and dielectric properties of three chalcogenide glasses: $Ge_{30}As_8Ga_2Se_{60}$, $Ge_{35}Ga_5Se_{60}$, and $Ge_{10}As_{20}S_{70}$. The absorption coefficients ${\alpha}({\nu})$, complex refractive index n(${\nu}$), and complex dielectric constants ${\varepsilon}({\nu})$ were measured in a frequency range from 0.3 THz to 1.5 THz. The measured real refractive indices were fitted using a Sellmeier equation. The results show that the Sellmeier equation fits well with the data throughout the frequency range and imply that the phonon modes of glasses vary with the glass compositions. The theory of far-infrared absorption in amorphous materials is used to analyze the results and to understand the differences in THz absorption among the sample glasses.

  • 전광 통신망(All-Optical Network)은 근거리와 원거리 통신망을 위한 차세대 광대역 통신먕이며 이를 위한 많은 광교환기들이 제안되고 있다. 특히 파장 분할 다중화 기법을 적용한 광교환기는 전광 통신망에서 B-ISDN 서비스를 위한 망의 투명성과 토폴로지 측면에서 많은 장점을 갖는다. 본 논문에서는 광링크 기반의 고속 ATM 망을 위한 두 종류의 넉아웃 광교환기 구조를 제안하였다. 제안된 구조는 파장 분할 다중화 기법을 이용하여 전광 영역에서 동작할 수 있도록 하였으며, 구조-Ⅰ과 구조-Ⅱ로 명명하였다. 각 구조는 구성 소자수 및 소자 종류에 의하여 다른 특성을 갖으며, 시스템의 성능과 복잡도도 많은 영향을 받는다. 제안된 두 종류의 광교환기 구조에 대한 해석적 분석과 시뮬레이션을 실시하였으며, 셀 손실률, 구성 소자의 복잡도, 요구되는 버퍼링 속도 관점에서 성능을 비교 분석하였다.

LED 빔조형에 의한 초소형 이미징 장치의 제조 기술 (LED Beam Shaping and Fabrication of Optical Components for LED-Based Fingerprint Imager)

  • 본 연구는 초소형 광학 시스템을 구현할 수 있는 설계 및 제작의 방법론을 제시하고자 한다. 초소형 광학계에서는 조명 및 결상 광학소자의 성능과 소형화가 조광면의 균질도와 결상 된 이미지의 선명도에 중요한 영향을 미치게 된다. 본 연구에서는 얇은 두께로 실효 광도를 배가시키기 위한 초박형의 LED 빔조형 렌즈를 설계 제작하였다. 상기 렌즈는 중앙부의 비구면렌즈와 외각의 전반사 프레넬 가장자리 부로 구성되어 있다. 설계된 LED 빔조형 렌즈(직경 4.7 mm, 두께 0.6 mm)는 다이아몬드 선삭으로 중앙 비구면부의 전반사(TIR) 가장자리가 정밀하게 가공되었으며, LED 의 빔각을 150 도에서 17.5 도로 축소 시켰다. 다른 광학소자들 마이크로 프리즘, 결상광학용 프레넬 렌즈, 광가이드는 다양한 마이크로 나노 크기의 제조공정으로 일체형으로 성형되었다. 시작품으로 제작된 초소형 광학계($6.8{\times}2.2{\times}2.5mm$)는 마이크로 패턴을 결상의 가능성을 보여주었고, 지문인식용 초소형광학계로서의 성능을 검증하였다.

The Characteristics of $Cu_2O$ Thin Films Deposited Using RF-Magnetron Sputtering Method with Nitrogen-Ambient

  • We investigate the characteristics of $Cu_2O$ thin films deposited through the addition of $N_2$ gas. The addition of $N_2$ gas has remarkable effects on the phase changes, resulting in improved electrical and optical properties. An intermediate phase ($6CuO{\cdot}Cu_2O$) appears at a $N_2$ flow rate of 1 sccm, and a $Cu_2O$ (200) phase is then preferentially grown at a higher feeding amount of $N_2$. The optical and electrical properties of $Cu_2O$ thin films are improved with a sufficient $N_2$ flow rate of more than 15 sccm, as confirmed through various analyses. Under this condition, a high bandgap energy of 2.58 eV and a conductivity of $1.5{\times}10^{-2}$ S/cm are obtained. These high-quality $Cu_2O$ thin films are expected to be applied to $Cu_2O$-based heterojunction solar cells and optical functional films.

Modified Sub-aperture Stitching Algorithm using Image Sharpening and Particle Swarm Optimization

  • This study proposes a modified sub-aperture stitching algorithm, which uses an image sharpening algorithm and particle swarm optimization to improve the stitching accuracy. In sub-aperture stitching interferometers with high positional accuracy, the high-frequency components of measurements are more important than the low-frequency components when compensating for position errors using a sub-aperture stitching algorithm. Thus we use image sharpening algorithms to strengthen the high-frequency components of measurements. When using image sharpening algorithms, sub-aperture stitching algorithms based on the least-squares method easily become trapped at locally optimal solutions. However, particle swarm optimization is less likely to become trapped at a locally optimal solution, thus we utilized this method to develop a more robust algorithm. The results of simulations showed that our algorithm compensated for position errors more effectively than the existing algorithm. An experimental comparison with full aperture-testing results demonstrated the validity of the new algorithm.

압축된 방진고무의 강성 해석 (Stiffness Analysis of Compressed Rubber Components for Anti-Vibration)

  • Optical disk technology with a laser beam for data recording and retrieval is one of the most promising route for high density information storage in multimedia era. As the storage density and data transfer rates are increased, mechanical issues, mainly noise and vibration, become critical. Rubber materials are extensively used in various machine design application, mainly for vibration/shock/noise control devices. Over the years an enormous effort has been put into developing procedures to provide properties of rubber components with complex shape and under pre-deformed state. In this paper, non-linear large deformations of a rubber mount for optical disk drive were investigated using the finite element method. A tension test of rubber material was performed, to calculate a strain energy function. According to the pre-deformed state, the variation of rubber mount stiffness were calculated and the reliability of numerical results were checked by compared with the measuring the deflection values. Also, the effects of the pre-deformed rubber mount on the system dynamic characteristics were investigated and the relation between the static stiffness variation of rubber mount and the natural frequence variation of system was discussed.
