한국삼(韓國蔘)과 중국삼(中國蔘)의 품질 비교 연구 (A Comparative study on Characteristic of Ginseng Radix in Korea and China)

  • Objctive:To clarify the criterion, the characteristic of varaious age of ginseng radix cultivated in Korea and China were studied. Method:The surface of the transverse section of the specimen was made into a slid by the Paraffin Section method, and then dyed by Safranine Malachite Green method. The samples were observed at the power of 400 by an optic microscope(Olympus, Japan). The component and flavor of ginseng radix were analyzed by TLC(Thinlayer Chromatography) and electronic nose(FOX3000, France). Result:Ginseng radix according to the growing district and various age were comparative analyzed by optic microscope, TLC and electronic nose. The results were as followings. 1. The external form of Korean ginseng is longer and brightness then Chinese ginseng. 2. The internal form of Korean and Chinese ginseng are similar to each other. 3. The component of Korean and Chinese ginseng in TLC are similar to each other. 4. The fragrance of Korean and Chinese ginseng are clearly different. Conclusion:The results in this study demonstrate that morphology and component of Korean ginseng are similar to Chinese, on the other hand, fragrance of Korean and Chinese ginseng are different.

전자빔 가공기의 제어기 구성 (Controller Design for Electron Beam Manufacturing System)

  • We have a plan to design a controller for electron beam manufacturing system. At first, we designed a controller for SEM. The controller consists of five parts (power source, beam controller, scanning controller, optic controller and main controller). Beam controller supplies pulse wave for generating high voltage and can monitor the status of high voltage instrument through emission current. Optic controller controls focus, spot size and image shift. Main controller transmits variables from operating program to each part and monitors the status of peripheral device.

  • Condenser lens and objective lens are used to demagnify the image of the crossover to the final spot size. In lens, electrons are focused by magnetic fields. This fields is fringing field. It is important in electron focusing. Electron focusing occurs the radial component field and axial component field. Radial component produces rotational force and axial component produces radial force. Radial force causes the electron's trajectory to curve toward the optic axis and corss it. Focal length decreases as the current of lens increases. In this paper, we use the focal length for desiging the hardware of lens current control and present the results.

Dysfunction of Retinal Cell and Optic Nerve by Continuous Cerebroventricular Infusion of Glucosamine

  • We have investigated the effect of glucosamine on the retinal cells after continuous infusion into cerebroventricle by using osmotic minipump to avoid peripheral effect. Continuous intracerebroventricular (i.c.v) infusion of glucosamine with the rate of 0.1 ${\mu}mol$/10 ${\mu}l$/hr for 7 days resulted in morphological changes of the optic nerve in electron microscopic level as well as morphological changes of the retina in light microscopic level. Retinal sections were immunostained for the detection of morphological changes of astrocytes. GFAP immunoreactivity appeared not only in the Muller cells but also many of the radial processes of Muller cells. The optic nerve showed deformed axon and slight lamellar separation of myelin sheath after continuous infusion of glucosamine in observing with electron microscope. Interestingly, vacuoles were observed in deformed axons and retinal layers were folded and detached. These results suggested that glucosamine plays a role in induction of morphological dysfunction in retina and optic nerves.

섬유화 온도 변화에 따른 E-glass fiber의 물리적 특성 (Physical Properties of E-glass Fiber According to Fiberizing Temperature)

  • E (Electric) -glass fibers are the most widely used glass fibers, taking up 90 % of the long glass fiber market. However, very few papers have appeared on the physical characteristics of E-glass fibers and how they depend on the fiberizing temperature of fiber spinning. Glass fiber was fabricated via continuous spinning process using bulk E-glass. In order to fabricate the E-glass specimen, raw materials were put into a Pt crucible and melted at $1550^{\circ}C$ for 2hrs; mixture was then annealed at $621{\pm}10^{\circ}C$ for 2hrs. The transmittance and adaptable temperature for spinning of the bulk marble glass were characterized using a UV-visible spectrometer and a viscometer. Continuous spinning was carried out using direct melting spinning equipment as a function of the fiberizing temperature in the range of $1175{\sim}1250^{\circ}C$, while the winder speed was fixed at 500 rpm. Subsequently we investigated the physical properties of the E-glass fiber. The average diameter of the synthesized glass fiber was measured by optical microscope. The mechanical properties of the fiber were confirmed using a UTM (universal materials testing machine); the maximum tensile strength was measured and found to be $1843{\pm}449MPa$ at $1225^{\circ}C$.

  • 최근 새로 개발된 DIFOTI(Digital Imaging Fiber-Optic Transillumination) 시스템의 초기 법랑질 우식증 진단 능력을 평가하고 임상 적용의 가능성을 타진해 보고자 본 연구를 시행하였다. 임상 연구는 유치 탈락 시기에 근접한 학령기 아동 23명을 대상으로 DIFOTI 이미지 촬영을 시행하고 자연 탈락된 유치 20개를 수거하여 CLSM 촬영 결과를 바탕으로 민감도(sensitivity)와 특이도(specificity)를 산출하였으며 실험실 연구에서는 수거된 40개의 유치를 대상으로 Carbopol 인공 우식 용액으로 1, 2, 4 그리고 8일간 탈회시킨 후 각각 방사선 사진, DIFOTI 이미지 그리고 CLSM와 비교 분석하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. 구내에서 촬영한 DIFOTI 이미지의 민감도는 0.61이었고, 특이도는 0.63이었다. 2. 실험실에서 인공 탈회시킨 유치의 협설면 초기 우식증에 대한 DIFOTI 이미지의 민감도는 0.71였고, 특이도는 0.75였다.

액상증착법에 의한 초친수 TiO2 박막 제조 (Fabrication of super hydrophilic TiO2 thin film by a liquid phase deposition)

  • 광촉매 특성을 지닌 초친수 $TiO_2$ 박막을 액상증착법에 의해 유리 기판 위에 성공적으로 제조하였다. 제조된 $TiO_2$ 박막은 $70^{\circ}C$에서 박막표면에 $TiO_2$ 나노 입자들을 형성하였다. $TiF_4$ 용액의 침적시간이 증가됨에 따라 박막의 두께도 일정하게 증가되었다. $TiO_2$ 박막은 약 $5^{\circ}$ 이하의 접촉각과 가시영역에서 약 75~90 %의 투과율을 보여주었다. 또한 제조된 $TiO_2$ 박막은 자외선 조사에 의해 메칠오렌지 용액을 분해하는 광촉매 특성을 보여주었다. 침적시간 조건에 따라 제조된 박막의 표면 구조, 광학적 특성, 접촉각을 FE-SEM, AFM, UV-Vis, contact angle meter를 이용하여 측정하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 측면연마 광섬유 결합기 구조에서 평면 도파로의 상부와 하부 클래딩의 열광학 효과를 이용하여 온도를 측정할 수 있는 편광 무의존 온도 센서를 제안하고 있다. 평면 도파로는 170$\mu\textrm{m}$ 두께의 현미경용 덮게 유리를 적용함으로서 급격한 온도 변화에 대해 도파로의 변형이 발생하지 않고, 비대칭적 평면 도파로 구조로 인한 편광 의존 손실을 최소화하기 시킬 수 있는 장점을 가진다. 제작된 소자의 편광 의존 손실은 0.3dB 이하로 측정되었다. 피측정체의 온도는 센서의 결합 파장 이동으로부터 계측되어진다. 평면 도파로의 상부와 하부 클래딩의 열광학 계수에 따른 온도 센서의 온도 민감도를 측정하였고, 상ㆍ하부 클래딩의 열광학 계수 변화로 온도 민감도를 제어할 수 있음을 보였다.

Orientational deformation of ferroelectric liquid crystal molecules by bending performance of plastic substrate

  • We have examined the aspects of the orientational ordering deformation of ferroelectric liquid crystal during bending performance of plastic substrate by analyzing the polarizing optical microscope texture and the birefringence of the cell. Striped texture becomes more prominent as the radius of curvature of substrate gets smaller. The optic axis of the adjacent stripes domain was not same and the relative angle between them becomes larger as the radius of curvature gets smaller. Especially, the optic axis rotation angle of one domain was lager than the other and the liquid crystal molecules in each domain became more coherent. In addition, the birefringence data with obliquely incident light shows the polar direction shift of liquid crystal molecule by bending performance.
