  • An electroencephalogram (EEG)-connectome processor to monitor and diagnose mental health is proposed. From 19-channel EEG signals, the proposed processor determines whether the mental state is healthy or unhealthy by extracting significant features from EEG signals and classifying them. Connectome approach is adopted for the best diagnosis accuracy, and synchronization likelihood (SL) is chosen as the connectome feature. Before computing SL, reconstruction optimizer (ReOpt) block compensates some parameters, resulting in improved accuracy. During SL calculation, a sparse matrix inscription (SMI) scheme is proposed to reduce the memory size to 1/24. From the calculated SL information, a small world feature extractor (SWFE) reduces the memory size to 1/29. Finally, using SLs or small word features, radial basis function (RBF) kernel-based support vector machine (SVM) diagnoses user's mental health condition. For RBF kernels, look-up-tables (LUTs) are used to replace the floating-point operations, decreasing the required operation by 54%. Consequently, The EEG-connectome processor improves the diagnosis accuracy from 89% to 95% in Alzheimer's disease case. The proposed processor occupies $3.8mm^2$ and consumes 1.71 mW with $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS technology.

  • This paper deals with a problem for determining the bulbous bow ship from which pertains to the study of the theoretical ship form planing method. In this paper has been determined the bulbous bow ship form which is a similar in geometric particulars with the conventional liner ship G.T.10, 000 by adopting the variable method for finding the optimum ship form by A.Y.C. Lee and the streamline tracing method by T. Inui and P.C. Pien. Each resistance performance is examined by the towing test and is compared with one another. The followings are the outcome of this study: Among the 5 type models, the bulbous bow ship form M.S. B 1120 is the most excellent for the resistance performance. The effect for the wave resistance is very sharp according to the difference of the bottom flattening of theoretical ship form. The optimum value of the bulbous bow for wave resistance can be obtained by the variable method mentioned above, and for the series of(Main hull+Bulb)opt., ${\alpha}=75/25$, the value is $f{\approx}0.11$.

  • Reliability has been considered as a one of the major design measures in various industrial and military systems. The main objective is to suggest a mathematical programming model and a hybrid parallel genetic algorithm(HPGA) for the problem that determines the optimal component reliability to maximize the system reliability under cost constraint in this study. Reliability optimization problem has been known as a NP-hard problem and normally formulated as a mixed binary integer programming model. Component structure, reliability, and cost were computed by using HPGA and compared with the results of existing meta-heuristic such as Ant Colony Optimization(ACO), Simulated Annealing(SA), Tabu Search(TS) and Reoptimization Procedure. The global optimal solutions of each problem are obtained by using CPLEX 11.1. The results of suggested algorithm give the same or better solutions than existing algorithms, because the suggested algorithm could paratactically evolved by operating several sub-populations and improving solution through swap and 2-opt processes.

  • The two dimensional quantitative structure-activity relationships (2D-QSARs) models concerning the binding affinity constants ($p[Od.]_{50}$) between 2-cyclohexyltetrahydropyrane and 2-cyclohexyltetrahydrofurane analogues as substrates, and bovine odorant binding protein (bOBP) as receptor were derived by multiple regression analyses method and discussed. The statistical quality of the optimized 2D-QSAR model (5) was good (r=0.907). From the model, the binding affinity constants ($p[Od.]_{50}$) were dependent upon the optimal value ($(TL)_{opt.}$=2.737) of total lipole (TL) of substrate molecules. Based on these findings, the high active compounds predicted by optimized 2D-QSAR model (5) were 2-(dimethylcyclohexyl)tetrahydropyrane molecule and their isomer molecules. The binding affinity constants regarding bOBP of the tetrahydrofuryl-2-yl family compounds were dependent upon the hydrophobicity (logP) of whole substrate molecules. In any case of porcine odorant-binding proteins (pOBP), the constants were dependent upon the hydrophobicity (${\pi}x={\log}P_X-{\log}P_H$) of substituents (R) in substrate molecules. Also, from the optimal values of hydrophobic constant, the hydrophobicity for bOBP influenced ca. twice time bigger (bOBP>pOBP) than that for pOBP.

  • This case report describes the orthodontic treatment of a patient with severe anterior open bite and skeletal class II malocclusion with temporomandibular joint (TMJ) osteoarthritis (OA) of the left condyle. The 21-year-old male patient had open-bite malocclusion, mild crowding, and protrusion of the anterior teeth. Mild erosive changes were detected in the anterior part of the left mandibular condyle on cone-beam computed tomography; however, because no clinical symptoms were present, orthodontic treatment was performed. It is imperative to consider the potential implications of orthodontic treatment on the stability of the TMJ throughout the duration of treatment, as any instability can exacerbate TMJ OA. Hence, it is crucial to opt for the least invasive treatment modality available. In this regard, orthodontic treatment using a skeletal anchorage system as an alternative to conventional orthognathic surgery for patients with open bite holds great promise, as it not only ensures mandibular stability but also significantly ameliorates the open-bite condition.

  • Anomaly detection in video surveillance is crucial but challenging due to the rarity of irregular events and ambiguity of defining anomalies. We propose a method called AONet that utilizes a spatiotemporal module to extract spatiotemporal features efficiently, as well as a residual autoencoder equipped with an attention network for effective future frame prediction in video anomaly detection. AONet utilizes a novel activation function called OptAF that combines the strengths of the ReLU, leaky ReLU, and sigmoid functions. Furthermore, the proposed method employs a combination of robust loss functions to address various aspects of prediction errors and enhance training effectiveness. The performance of the proposed method is evaluated on three widely used benchmark datasets. The results indicate that the proposed method outperforms existing state-of-the-art methods and demonstrates comparable performance, achieving area under the curve values of 97.0%, 86.9%, and 73.8% on the UCSD Ped2, CUHK Avenue, and ShanghaiTech Campus datasets, respectively. Additionally, the high speed of the proposed method enables its application to real-time tasks.

  • The protocol based on password have very important qualifications that not only satisfy against attacks cause of restricting that have, but also efficiency of reducing users' workload. It has a problem of speculative attacks for the user authentication protocol based on password with most case, because users use password that can remember easily. Song and Etc. have proposed new mechanism that improved the problem of S/KEY system. The protocol proposed by Song has a problem in registration process, and user information can be abused by the malevolent server. We propose a new authentication protocol based on efficient OPT, that improved above problems.
