A study on Functional Status of Women after Childbirth (산후 여성의 기능적 상태에 관한 연구)

  • Recovery of functional status and affecting factors it were examined at 1 and 2 months after delivery in 111 women who defined as the resumption of household, self-care, social & community, and occupational activities, and assumption of infant care responsibilities. The data were collected by Tulman & Fawcett (1988)'s IFSAC questionnaire at 2 local hospitals & health center in Kwangju city & Chonnam province. The results were as follows : 1. Total mean scores of functional status were 2.3 points and increased in total functional status between 1 & 2 months after childbirth. The analysis revealed significant changes in 3 dimensions-household, social & community, and occupational activities-of IFSAC between 1 & 2 months after childbirth. 2. Mean scores of 5 dimensions of IFSAC were : self-care activities, 1.9 points : household activities, 2.7 points ; infant care responsibilities, 3.6 points ; occupational activities, 1.5 points ; and social & community activities, 1.6 points. 3. The job affected significantly the household, occupational activities and infant care responsibilities. And the complication of infant or mother affected significantly the infant care responsibilities in association with recovery functional status. Based on the findings and a review of the literature in regard to our understanding of recovery of functional status, the following recommendations were derived. 1. Future research needs to be policied concerning length of maternity leave after delivery on a firmer basis throught longitudinal study. 2. The data also nay be used to develop individual interventions to facilitate recovery from childbirth. 3. The IFSAC may be used to clinical assessments of functional status in the case of women cancer or obstetric and gynecologic operation.

A Real-Time Certificate Status Validation Protocol for Reducing the Computational Time in Client and Server - RCSVP (클라이언트와 서버의 연산시간을 줄여주는 실시간 인증서 상태 검증에 관한 연구)

  • As a research on PKI is being very popular, the study relating to certificate status validation is being grown with aim to reduce an overhead of the protocol and to provide an efficient operation. The OCSP of the standard protocol related to the study enables applications to determine the revocation state of an identified certificate. However, the OCSP server can not service millions of certificate status validation requests from clients in a second on E-commerce because of the computational time for signature and verification. So, we propose the Real-time Certificate Status Validation Protocol(RCSVP) that has smaller computational time than OCSP. RCSVP server reduce the computational time of certificate status validation using hash function and common secret value. Also RCSVP client does not need the computational time of certificate verification to acquire the public key from an identified certificate. Therefore, the proposed protocol enables server to response millions of certificate status validation requests from clients in a second on E-commerce.

Relationship Nutritional Knowledge.Attitude.Practice and Health Status of Rural Residents (농촌주민의 건강상태와 영양지식.태도.실천과의 관계)

  • Objectives: This study is to investigate and to test the overall level of nutritional knowledge. attitude. practice and health status of the residents in rural area. Methods: The interview survey was performed in March 2004 with structured questionnaires to 510 respondents of the residents who lived in Muan-Gun of Jeonnam province. The questionnaire was the abridged Scale of the Nutritional Knowledge Attitude Practice(SNKA) and health status as the morbidity, subjective health status, health management, and health examination. The covariate, F-test or t-test, and Chi-squire method were used for some of the cross-sectional data. Results: Average weight of nutritional knowledge was $10.64{\pm}5.98$ by SNKA of the 20 items(0-20). Average weight of nutritional attitude practice was $64.59{\pm}7.72$ by SNKA of the 20 items(20-80). The level of the nutritional knowledge was lower than the level of the nutritional attitude practice. 77.3% of the respondents have been health management, 49.6% of the respondents have been health examination. A majority of the respondents(31.3%) had disease, while 13.5% of the respondents had chronic disease, and 17.8% of the respondents had acute disease. The level of nutritional knowledge and general characteristics was positively correlated while the relationships were positive between nutritional knowledge and health status, and between nutritional attitude practice and health status. Conclusion: These results suggested that education programs of the nutritional knowledge were necessary for the residents of rural area. And behavior change of the nutritional knowledge were necessary for the residents of rural area. Further research would be required to specify the necessities and operation researches.

  • ZigBee is Low Power and Low Data Rate Wireless Communication protocol. It apply to much Ubiquitous Sensor Network. ZigBee PAN is two type PAN. One is Beacon Enabled PAN, the other is Non Beacon Enabled PAN. To support Low Power in Non Beacon Enabled PAN, End-Device enter Active status at End-Device's wishing time and send a data. So, Router does not know End-Device sends a data time. To solving this problem, Router must always exist to Active status. In this case, Router receive a power supply always in Non Beacon Enabled PAN. But Router does not receive a power supply always, Router can not normal operation, such as Router use a battery. To solve this problem, Router will be support low power. In this paper, we will present Router's Low Power Algorithm. And we suggest 'PAN Time'. Device use 'PAN Time' for PAN synchronous. Router using Low Power Algorithm can be enter to inactive status. So Non Beacon Enabled PAN of Router support the low power mode Therefore Router does not receive a power supply always, Router can normal operation.

The Determinants of Health Promoting Behavior of Industrial Workers (산업장 근로자의 건강증진행위에 영향을 미치는 변인 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the major factors affecting performance in health promoting behavior. The subjects for this study were 414 workers employed in one transportation manufacturing plant in Pusan and were obtained by a convenience sample. Data were collected from November 11th to December 21th, 1996 by structured questionnaires. Collected data were analyzed by SPSS PC. The results of this study are as follows. 1. The average score of performance in the health promoting behavior was 2.42 ; the range of the score was from 1.44 to 3.71. The variable with the highest degree of performance was self-actualization, whereas the one with the lowest degree was exercise. 2. In the relationships between demographic variables and performance in the health promoting behavior, only the shift system showed statistically significant differences in the total of health promoting behavior ; especially the group of no shift operation was higher in the performance of subscale such as exercise, nutrition, interpersonal support than that of the shift operation. Some demographic variables showed significant differences in the subscale of the health promoting behavior ; age, worker's career and marital status. 3. Performance in the health promoting behavior was significantly correlated with perceived health status, health conception, self-efficacy, perceived benefits and perceived barriers. 4. The most important factor that affects performance in the health promoting behavior was self-efficacy. The combination of self-efficacy, perceived benefits, perceived health status, perceived barriers, shift system and department of work accounted for 31.05% of the variance in health promoting behavior.

Operation Status and Improvement Plan of Continuing Hospitalization Judgement System in Mental Health Review Board (정신보건심판위원회 계속입원치료 심사제도 운영현황 및 개선방안)

  • Background: The recent revision of South Korea's Mental Health Law emphasizes the role of the Mental Health Review Board. For this study, we examined the current status of continuing hospitalization judgement in Mental Health Review Board at the national level and aimed to determine the directions of improvement. Methods: Using a qualitative case study as the research method, we interviewed 30 Mental Health Review Board members and analyzed the results. Results: Each municipality had very different continuing hospitalization judgement methods. In our systematic review, which consisted of document inspection, we identified reliability problems due to limitations in Mental Health Review Board's operating systems, discharge orders, etc. Additionally, continuing hospitalization judgement needs to improve the objectivity, fairness, and effectiveness of their screening examinations. Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, we suggest policy proposals to improve these systems, such as standardizing examination processes, strengthening on-site inspections, increasing the independence and neutrality of judgment in Mental Health Review Board, building community mental health infrastructures, and establishing integrated management systems.

A Study on the Operational Structure and Status Role of Korean Public Libraries - the Case of Busan Metropolitan City - (공공도서관의 운영체계 및 지위적 역할 설정에 관한 연구 - 부산광역시를 사례로 하여 -)

  • The Korean government has established a plan on the 'service operating system of public libraries', which divides the local libraries into a central library, regional libraries, and small branches. However, due to the low interest of the libraries and, above all, the structural problems caused by the dualization of the library administrative bodies, no action plans have been developed. This study intends to propose an integrated operating system for public libraries in Busan metropolitan and to design specific roles and functions according to the library status. To the ends, this study examined the Korean government's plan for public library operation, analyzed the operation cases of foreign public libraries, and finally suggested the detailed action plan of an integrated operating system based on the case of Busan Metropolitan City. The data were collected from literature review and on site field survey, supplemented by e-mail inquiry and official statistical information.

  • This paper focuses on development status of eLoran system which is an representative backup PNT system in order to overcome the vulnerability of GNSS signals by radio frequency interference such as jamming. eLoran testbed system consists of new transmitting system for amplifying the signal through signal generation and modulation, differential Loran (dLoran) reference stations for calculating the signal errors received from transmitters, an integrated operation and control system (IOCS) for eLoran service. Therefore we present the configuration of testbed architecture for trial operation of eLoran service and the development status, and discuss about the next step toward backup PNT service using eLoran system.

  • The high-power 6.6 kV XLPE (or CV) cables at Korean electric power stations have been in operation for the last 40 years. Most of the XLPE cables starts deteriorating in 6-8 years from the operating instant of time, some cables may be breakdown at any moment even though they were installed in recent years, causing, huge socioeconomic losses. In order to prevent unexpected cable accident, the operating status of power cables should be monitored in regularly, timely bases. We have invented a device in order to systematically monitor and prevent an abrupt accidents of high-power cables in operation at power station. It has been installed at Korean Western Power Co. Ltd. at Taean, and operating normally for the last 4 years. In this paper, we introduce the functions and operating principles of the measuring device, and present the relationship between humidity and insulation status of XLPE cables for the load of electric turbine generator.

Application of Judgement Criteria to Measure Deterioration and to Judge Insulation Resistance in High-Power Live XLPE Cables (고전력 활선 XLPE 케이블의 열화를 측정하기 위한 판정기준의 적용 및 절연상태 판정)

  • The demand for electric power is increasing every year. All facilities operating at power stations and all facilities used in transmitting high volumes of electric power are therefore expected to operate with a high degree of reliability. 6.6 kV XLPE 100 SQ 1C cables are used to deliver high levels of generated electric power. Depending on the method of manufacture, installation environment, and usage conditions, the deterioration processes of power cables start from the instant of operation. Cable junctions may break down in three years from the start of operation due to manufacturing or construction defects. We have invented the first device in Korea to monitor the status of live cables and installed these at Korea Western Power Co., Ltd.. We have set the criteria to determine deterioration status and specified the degree of deterioration at which one should replace the cables. In this paper, we present the effect of insulation layer and sheath on the insulation resistance status in cables.
