Semantic Web and its related technologies have been opening the era of information sharing via Web. In the meantime, there are several huddles to overcome toward the new era and one of the major huddles is information integration issue unless we build and use a single unified but huge ontology which address everything in the world. Particularly in e-business area, information integration problem must be a great concern in search and comparison of products from various internet shopping sites and e-marketplaces. To overcome such an information integration problem, we propose an ontology driven mapping algorithm between heterogeneous product classification and description frameworks. We also perform comparative evaluation of the proposed mapping algorithm against a well-known ontology mapping tool, PROMPT.

In recent decades, the growth of communication technology has resulted in an explosion of data-related information. Ontology perception is being used as a growing requirement to integrate data and unique functionalities. Ontologies are not only critical for transforming the traditional web into the semantic web but also for the development of intelligent applications that use semantic enrichment and machine learning to transform data into smart data. To address these unclear facts, several researchers have been focused on expanding ontologies and semantic web technologies. Due to the lack of clear-cut limitations, ontologies would not suffice to deliver uncertain information among domain ideas, conceptual formalism supplied by traditional. To deal with this ambiguity, it is suggested that fuzzy ontologies should be used. It employs Ontology to introduce fuzzy logical policies for ambiguous area concepts such as darkness, heat, thickness, creaminess, and so on in a device-readable and compatible format. This survey efforts to provide a brief and conveniently understandable study of the research directions taken in the domain of ontology to deal with fuzzy information; reconcile various definitions observed in scientific literature, and identify some of the domain's future research-challenging scenarios. This work is hoping that this evaluation can be treasured by fuzzy ontology scholars. This paper concludes by the way of reviewing present research and stating research gaps for buddy researchers.

Purpose: The influence of dietary composition on blood pressure is an important subject in healthcare. Interactions between antihypertensive drugs and diet (IBADD) is the most important factor in the management of hypertension. It is therefore essential to support healthcare providers' decision making role in active and continuous interaction control in hypertension management. The aim of this study was to implement an ontology-based clinical decision support system (CDSS) for IBADD management (IBADDM). We considered the concepts of antihypertensive drugs and foods, and focused on the interchangeability between the database and the CDSS when providing tailored information. Methods: An ontology-based CDSS for IBADDM was implemented in eight phases: (1) determining the domain and scope of ontology, (2) reviewing existing ontology, (3) extracting and defining the concepts, (4) assigning relationships between concepts, (5) creating a conceptual map with CmapTools, (6) selecting upper ontology, (7) formally representing the ontology with Protege (ver.4.3), (8) implementing an ontology-based CDSS as a JAVA prototype application. Results: We extracted 5,926 concepts, 15 properties, and formally represented them using Protege. An ontology-based CDSS for IBADDM was implemented and the evaluation score was 4.60 out of 5. Conclusion: We endeavored to map functions of a CDSS and implement an ontology-based CDSS for IBADDM.

Ontology alignment is the way to share and reuse of ontology knowledge. Because of the ambiguity of concept, most ontology alignment systems combine a set of various measures and complete enumeration to provide the satisfactory result. However, calculating process becomes more complex and required time increases exponentially since the number of concept increases, more errors can appear at the same time. Lately the focus is on meta-matching using the heuristic algorithm. Existing meta-matching system tune extra parameter and it causes complex calculating, as a consequence, the results in the various data of specific domain are not good performed. In this paper, we propose a high performance algorithm by using DCS that can solve ontology alignment through simple process. It provides an efficient search strategy according to distribution of Levy Flight. In order to evaluate the approach, benchmark data from the OAEI 2012 is employed. Through the comparison of the quality of the alignments which uses DCS with state of the art ontology matching systems.
As OWL(Web Ontology Language) has been selected as a standard ontology description language by W3C, many ontologies have been building and developing in OWL. The lena developed by HP as an Application Programming Interface(API) provides various APIs to develop inference engines as well as storages, and it is widely used for system development. However, the storage model of Jena2 stores most owl documents not acceptable into a single table and it shows low processing performance for a large ontology data set. Most of all, Jena2 storage model does not consider hierarchical structures of classes and properties. In addition, it shows low query processing performance using the hierarchical structure because of many join operations. To solve these issues, this paper proposes an OWL ontology relational database model. The proposed model semantically classifies and stores information such as classes, properties, and instances. It improves the query processing performance by managing hierarchical information in a separate table. This paper also describes the implementation and evaluation results. This paper also shows the experiment and evaluation result and the comparative analysis on both results. The experiment and evaluation show our proposal provides a prominent performance as against Jena2.

Community enterprise plays an important role for developing local business. Products from local communities apply local specialties such as high-quality materials and inherited wisdom. This work aims to support merchandises from local community enterprises by bringing out their specialties related to local wisdom and intangible cultural aspects. An ontology is applied to demonstrate the innate information regarding the implicit values of the products and is used as a core for a semantic search system. Details of the products are gathered from their respective community using an interview method and are extracted to align with the developed ontological schema. The semantic search system thus is implemented with a recommendation process for online accessibility for providing the organised information. From evaluation, the developed ontology and its instances are rated highly for their consistency, conciseness, and completeness. In usage, accuracy of the query and recommendation results are evaluated at 97.38% searching accuracy and 85.03% for recommending interesting products.
Currently, hotel search engines may help travelers find hotels, but the returned set of information is usually not satisfactory to them. It is because the engines do not understand what travelers want exactly and cannot deal with the travelers' interest which is expressed in various terms, even including some ambiguous ones. The objective of this research is to build hotel ontology using currently available semantic web technologies such as RDF, OWL and SWRL and to show how it can be used to help travelers find hotels of their interest. To that end, we analyzed available hotel-related ontologies and investigated typical terms which are used when searching for hotels in the Q&A communities. Based on the results of the analysis and investigation, we designed hotel domain ontology which consists of Objective Concepts Ontology(OCO), Universal Concepts Ontology(UCO), and Evaluation Concepts Ontology(ECO). To demonstrate the use of the ontology for a hotel search, we developed a Semantic Hotel Search System (SHSS).
Although RDF ontologies might be expressed in XML tree model, existing methods for protection of XML documents are not suitable for securing RDF ontologies. The graph style and inference feature of RDF demands a new security model development. Driven by this goal, this paper proposes a new query-oriented model for the RDF ontology access control. The proposed model rewrites a user query using a three-layered ontology view. The proposal resolves the problem that the existing approaches should generate inference models depending on inference rules. Accessible ontology concepts and instances which a user can visit are defined as ontology views, and the inference view defined for controling an inference query enables a controlled inference capability for the user. This paper defines the three-layered view and describes algorithms for query rewriting according to the views. An implemented prototype with its system architecture is shown. Finally, the experiment and comparative evaluation result of the proposal and the previous approach is described.

The purpose of this study is to design and implement an ontology-based retrieval system for the electronic records of universities and to compare its performance with the existing keyword-based retrieval system. We used OntoStudio 1.4 for implementing an ontology-based retrieval system, and the test collection consisted of the following: (1) 5,099 electronic records of the 'personnel management notification' created by Korea Maritime University, (2) 20 topics (10 short-topics and 10 long-topics), and (3) the relevant assessments were conducted by the group of human experts. 10 university staff participated in the experiment of keyword-based searching and used the same test collection as used in the experiment of ontology-based searching. The ontology-based retrieval system outperformed to the keyword-based retrieval system in terms of Recall and Precision, and the same results showed in the test of the short-topics and long-topics comparison.

In the architectural space, the user's behavior is the most important factor in evaluating the quality of architecture. Normally, the evaluation of user behavioral performance was carried out after a building was completed. Recently, interest in and efforts at pre-simulation based on information technology are accelerating. However, since existing user simulation technology is concerned mainly with simply escaping from a large space, it is impossible to simulate the behavior of multiple users in an architectural space. The present study strives to develop a human-figured intelligent agent for advanced user simulation based on ontology. The main purpose of the study is to employ the intelligent behaviors of a NPC(Non-player Character) to infer the ontology of both spatial and user information. In this paper, we intend to integrate ontology inference technology into the virtual space. And also, this study suggest the ontology visualization technology which illustrate the ontology-based information and their change in the spatial information.
