The study used the online English learning program served by Gyeonggi province office of education. 107 students attending P elementary school in K city volunteered for the program. After studying English via the website for almost one year, they were asked to respond the questionnaires related to the contents of the online English program. Since the research investigated that the relations of students' grades, the time for the study, their diagnostic test scores, and the effectiveness of the contents, the survey responses were analyzed with Spearman correlation. As a result, older students thought that the type of problem-solving, the type of performing a task, WBI (Web Based Instruction) were not efficacious. Also, these types of online English program were chosen as ineffective from the students at the higher level. Whereas the type of private lesson, the lessons based on a story, and the type of animation were preferred to the students who spent longer time on the website. This highlights the need to consider the students' characteristics such as students' grades, the time for the study, and their English level when developing the contents of the online English learning program.

The following research results and implications were obtained by analyzing Daedeok-valley Radio's case to elucidate characteristics of online-based community media and content production and distribution characteristics neglected in previous researches. First, online community media activities are civic/citizen media activities that capture the value of local communities, and this locality is realized through media content production and its online distribution. Second, contents of online community media link members of the community, and individuals become nodes, interacting both online and offline. Therefore, online-based citizen media activities can be utilized effectively as a means to enhance civic participation and to achieve the locality of community in online and offline spaces depending on strategies for online contents production and distribution. Utilizing online infrastructures for media content creation and distribution in Korea demonstrates potential opportunities of local online media to be considered as niche media that can increase its own sustainability.

  • The demand for cyber education in Korea is constantly increasing and the need for research on online lecture on contents design that increases the learning effect is rising. In this research, the online lecture contents about the technical information type provided by Korea Cyber University was understood and we researched about the most preferred lecture type and the most effective lecture type in learning among the 1,173 students in Korea Cyber University who participated in this online survey. Also, we analyzed if the students' preference for the lecture type depended on their experience on that lecture type and we studied the students' claims postulated on the interface design of the lecture contents. The most preferred lecture type among students was e-Stream+flash and they answered that multi-media type lectures were the most effective lectures in learning. The majority of the students preferred lecture contents that they have experienced before and preferred the menu on the left side of the page in interface design. Not only the completeness, but the applications in design in lecture contents are also an important factor in online lectures. As the demand for cyber education in Korea is increasing, content design that can increase the academic performance should be further researched.

  • This study explored potential therapeutic mechanisms of playing preferred online games as predictors of therapeutic interventions for players' psychosocial factors (i.e., aggression, depression, and loneliness). Based on theories of catharsis, the generic model of psychotherapy, we took a therapeutic approach to integrate these perspectives. We created a path model describing how therapeutic catharsis-seeking, online game self-efficacy, and life self-efficacy were associated with psychosocial factors of aggression, depression, and loneliness, including generalized sub-constructs of each factor as multi-dimensional sources. We analyzed the path model using data of 1,227 online game players in Korea. Our results indicated that therapeutic catharsis-seeking could alleviate aggression via favorite game playing. Life self-efficacy was a primary predictor for alleviating depression and loneliness. However, online game self-efficacy was positively associated with depression and loneliness. Implications of these findings are discussed.

UCC are classified by UGC(User Generated Contents), UMC(User Modified Contents), and URC(User Recreated Contents). Especially UMC and URC correspond to a problem of copyright. Following the Copyright Protection Center investigation in 2006, it reported that 83.7% UCC are infringement of copyright. In spite of remarkable the UCC copyright problem, the concrete resolution does not exist. Also it is difficult to apply the offline legal conformity because of online nature of the UCC. The study observes the UCC copyright dispute instances which use the broadcasting contents and investigates a resolution of the UCC copyright. Considering the online media nature, it tries to analyse CCL(Creative Common License) as the ODR(online Dispute Resolution). It is meaningful to search the possibility of UCC copyright problem through the online technical embodiment.
