  • During the COVID-19 pandemic, the use of video classes and real-time online education has increased, but the lack of interaction between instructors and learners remains a challenging problem to be resolved. This paper designs and implements a learning support system that utilizes a digital human to improve faculty-student interaction, which plays an important role in increasing the educational effect and satisfaction of real-time online classes. In this paper, a digital human participates in a class as a virtual learner and asks questions raised by other learners through an anonymous chat system to the instructor on behalf of the learners. In addition, as a class facilitator, the digital human analyzes the lecturer's speech in real time and provides it to the learner in the form of a summary of the class, thereby facilitating faculty-student interaction. In order to confirm that the proposed system can be used in actual online real-time classes, we apply our system to Zoom classes. Experimental results show that facilitated Q&A and real-time class summaries are successfully provided through our digital human-based learning support system.

  • The quality growth of online education triggered by remote education platforms such as Coursera and edX has increased the demand for lifelong education through online platforms. In response, South Korea has also created various lifelong education support systems and sites in government agencies and local governments. Each support system and web sites created its own member information collection system. The systematic collection and utilization of learners' information requires an integrated member management system of each system. Therefore, the current status of member information collection of state-level lifelong education support systems was analyzed. Based on this, it distinguishes between member information that systems collect in common and information that they collect separately. It will help to bridge the items underlying the integrated membership framework.

  • Many countries are establishing and operating blended learning that combines the advantages of online and offline education. However, online education lecture-based Mooc courses have a very low level, with a graduation rate of less than 5-10%. Therefore, in order to increase the graduation rate of students taking online Mooc distance education lectures that anyone can easily take lectures anytime, anywhere on the web-based basis, it is necessary to introduce automatic analysis of students' understanding level of lectures and an automatic academic warning system. Moreover, in order to enter an advanced education country, it is necessary to develop an automatic judgment SW for wrong answer rate, automatic summary SW for lectures, and automatic analysis SW education for lecture-based weak subjects based on mixed learning levels. In order to improve this problem, in this paper, we proposed and simulated an automatic summarization system for lecture contents, an automatic warning system for incorrect answers, and an automatic judgment algorithm for weak subjects.

  • Sexually abused victims suffer not only physical damage, but they may also experience an array of additional problems ranging from acute fear, depressed mood, anxiety, shame, or insomnia to long-term psychiatric disorders. Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) is known to have excellent therapeutic effects for trauma victims including victims of sexual violence. CBT treatment includes stress immunity training, relaxation training, and acceptance and commitment therapy. In foreign countries TF-CBT is carried out online in order to increase the therapeutic accessibility for the victim and improve the quality of the interview for the therapists. As a result, those victims who have difficulties in requesting external help, who live in remote areas, or who have limited time may now have access to the service and benefit from the online education programs. A website providing an online based TF-CBT program was initiated in Korea also. Through the website, victims and their guardians may obtain therapeutic information without the need for face-to-face meetings with therapists. Our goal is to create a system with this website which will provide therapeutic assistance to sexual violence victims and improve the quality of the counseling provided by the therapist.

  • The recognition of the importance of lifelong vocational competency development, the proliferation of MOOC, and interest in online education have increased. As a result, efforts are continuously being made to develop an education system for lifelong vocational competency development. However, research on design and development of competency-based evaluation tools and systems in the field of technology engineering is still insufficient. In this paper, we designed and implemented a Competency-based Assessment System for Lifelong Vocational Competency Development(CBAS-LVCD). CBAS-LVCD utilizes NCS-based rubric-based assessment tools to evaluate learners and provides simulation tools for use in technology engineering. This is expected to be of great help in assessing the competencies required for practical affairs in the field of technology engineering, where practical work and on-line testing are limited.
