가로 활성화 요인으로서 가로환경디자인 분석을 위한 패턴 언어에 관한 연구 - 인사동길 사례를 중심으로 (A Study on Pattern Language for Street Environmental Design Analysis as the Vitalization factor of Street - Case study based on Insadong Street)

  • 본 논문은 가로 활성화를 위한 가로환경디자인 분석으로 인사동길의 패턴 언어를 분석한 것이다. 보행자 가로, 공원, 광장과 같은 도시 공공공간은 급속한 도시화와 산업화로 인하여 증가하고 있다. 그러나 실제로 사용자의 행동 패턴을 만족하는 공간은 많지 않다. 이는 사람과 공공공간의 공간적 질에 대한 충분한 고려없이 형식적인 공급과 관리 방향에만 치중했기 때문이다. 본 연구의 목적은 크리스토퍼 알렉산더의 패턴 언어를 적용하여 인사동길의 분석을 통하여 활력이 넘치고 다양한 거리를 만들고, 지역의 특성을 부여하는 요소들을 찾는 것이다. 그러므로 시대별로 변화되어온 도시 가로환경의 가치인식 변화를 통하여 공공공간의 공간적 특성을 선별하고, 각각의 공간적 특성에 적합한 패턴 언어를 선별하여 가로환경디자인 분석을 위한 기준을 마련한다. 연구결과, 인사동길을 중심으로 패턴 언어와의 관계를 살펴보면 거리 활성화에 영향을 미치는 패턴 언어는 보행자 거리(100), 건물의 정면(122), 활동의 결절점(30) 등 16개로 분석되었다. 따라서 본 논문은 패턴 언어를 통하여 인사동길의 가로환경디자인 분석에 초점을 맞추고 가로활성화에 도움이 되는 가이드라인과 평가 기준을 제안하고자 한다.

거리 공연에 관한 공법적 고찰 (A legal study on a Street Performance)

  • 이 논문은 거리 공연의 법적 의미와 쟁점을 검토한 것이다. 거리 공연(또는 거리 예술)의 법적 의미를 이해하는데 핵심 징표는 '공공장소'와 '예술행위'에 있다. 따라서 '공공장소에서의 예술 행위'라 할 수 있는 한, 원칙적으로 그 예술성의 수준이나 대가의 지급 여부, 공연의 규모, 예술행위의 장르를 불문하고 거리 공연 또는 거리 예술이라 할 수 있다. 거리 공연은 개방된 길거리에서 행해짐으로써 누구나 자유롭게 참여하고 예술을 즐길 수 있는 방법이다. 또 누구나 거리공연가가 될 수 있다는 점에서 거리 공연은 주류적 예술문화보다 더 대중적이고 민주적인 예술행위라 볼 수 있다. 다만 거리 공연이 유행하고 보편적 문화현상으로 자리잡아가고 있지만, 아직 법적으로 정돈되어 있는 상황은 아니라고 보인다. 하지만 거리 공연을 뭔가 이질적이면서 특별한 것으로 취급하면서 법으로 규제할 필요는 없다. 오히려 예술의 자유 등을 보장하는 헌법의 취지에 맞게 거리 공연을 자유롭게 행하고 즐길 수 있도록 내버려 두는 것이 타당하다. 거리 공연이 사회적 유해성을 가진 것이 아니기 때문이다. 최근 여러 지방자치단체들이 지역 경제를 활성화한다는 이유에서 거리공연을 적극적으로 조례로 규율하고 있지만, 거리 공연을 규율하기 위한 법률이 별도로 필요하지는 않다고 판단된다. 다만 거리 공연에 관해 제기되는 주요 쟁점별로 관련 법률을 정비하는 것은 필요하다. 예컨대 공연 무대를 설치하는 대규모 거리 공연에서 별도의 허가가 필요한지 좀 더 분명하게 규정해 줄 필요가 있으며, 거리 공연으로 인한 생활소음의 규제를 받기 위해 "소음 진동관리법"상 거리 공연에 관한 근거 규정과 소음 기준을 별도로 마련해 주는 것도 필요할 것이다. 거리 공연이 문화 현상으로 잘 정착되기 위해서는 거리공연가의 법질서 준수 노력, 거리 공연을 즐기는 시민들의 성숙된 의식과 문화적 관용태도, 그리고 거리 공연을 활성화하려는 국가와 지방자치단체의 문화국가적 보호 노력이 조화를 이루어야 할 것이다.

전주시 객사길 보행자 중심 걷고 싶은 거리 설계 - 주민참여형 가로설계 - (The Walkable Street Design for 'Gaeksa-gil' of Jeonju City - Community Participatory Street Design -)

  • This paper presents a streetscape design for the 'Gaeksa-gil', located in Gosa-dong and Jungang-dong, Jeonju City, which length is about 830m and width is about $8\sim10m$. The goals of the design are to make a street on which people want to walk and rest both safely and pleasantly. To achieve these goals; concepts of identity, history, placeness, commercial vitality, environmentally-friendliness, safety, amenity , and democracy have been developed. For the pedestrian safety; shared street concepts, such as crank, salalom, fort, mini-rotary etc. are adopted. For design method, community participatory design is adapted. For the design theme; the axes of Time and Space are developed and streets are divided into 3 thematic spaces, such as 'History Street,' 'Nature Street,' and 'Culture Street.' The History Street, which belongs to Time axis, is a space for experiencing past, present, and future history of Jeonju city. Nature Street, which belongs to Space axis, is a space for feeling and loaming the nature of the city. The Culture Street, which also belongs to Space axis, is a space for experiencing the culture of the city. The community participated in the whole design process through the workshop, the internet website, the street events, etc.

Improvement of the Planting Method to Increase the Carbon Reduction Capacity of Urban Street Trees

  • Background and objective: Urban street trees play an important role in carbon reduction in cities where greenspace is scarce. There are ongoing studies on carbon reduction by street trees. However, information on the carbon reduction capacity of street trees based on field surveys is still limited. This study aimed to quantify carbon uptake and storage by urban street trees and suggest a method to improve planting of trees in order to increase their carbon reduction capacity. Methods: The cities selected were Sejong, Chungju, and Jeonju among cities without research on carbon reduction, considering the regional distribution in Korea. In the cities, 155 sample sites were selected using systematic sampling to conduct a field survey on street environments and planting structures. The surveyed data included tree species, diameter at breast height (DBH), diameter at root collar (DRC), height, crown width, and vertical structures. The carbon uptake and storage per tree were calculated using the quantification models developed for the urban trees of each species. Results: The average carbon uptake and storage of street trees were approximately 7.2 ± 0.6 kg/tree/yr and 87.1 ± 10.2 kg/tree, respectively. The key factors determining carbon uptake and storage were tree size, vertical structure, the composition of tree species, and growth conditions. The annual total carbon uptake and storage were approximately 1,135.8 tons and 22,737.8 tons, respectively. The total carbon uptake was about the same amount as carbon emitted by 2,272 vehicles a year. Conclusion: This study has significance in providing the basic unit to quantify carbon uptake and storage of street trees based on field surveys. To improve the carbon reduction capacity of street trees, it is necessary to consider planning strategies such as securing and extending available grounds and spaces for high-density street trees with a multi-layered structure.

가로경관 만족도의 영향요인 분석 -포항시 중앙상가로변을 중심으로- (Analysis of Factors affecting Satisfaction of Street-scape -Focused on the Street of Central Market, Pohang City-)

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the factors affecting satisfaction of street-scape. According to this purpose, in chapter 2, by inspecting conservation of street environment and streetscape, deduce the frame for analyzing streetscape in commercial district. In chapter 3, analyzing present condition and problems of selected streets in Pohang City, derive the primary factors to induce desirable streetscape through problems and their reason between the analyzed elements of building form. Analyzed elements are composed pavement of road, street furniture, height of buildings, color and material of building and outdoor advertisements, etc. In chapter 4, by conducting a questionnaire survey of pedestrians about street images and the preference, propose the direction of improvement about streetscape in commercial district. As the study method, level of satisfaction was analyzed using the components of street-scape. The collected data was analyzed through Reliability Analysis, ANOVA, Factor Analysis, Regression Analysis. A regression analysis for deriving main factors affecting the satisfaction level of street-scape showed that signboard, sign color, width of street, paving materials, street furniture, open space were found to be the most important.

주거단지의 가로조명기구 개발 및 운용방안 (A Development of Street Lighting Fixtures and Operation Plan in Residential Areas)

  • 가로조명은 이용자의 안전과 편안한 시각환경을 제공함은 물론 이용자의 요구에 맞는 쾌적한 분위기를 연출하여야 한다. 그렇기 때문에 조명기구의 선택에 있어서 미적인 측면이나 선례에 의존하기보다 가로의 이용에 필요한 요구사항과 이용자에 대한 이해가 바탕이 되어야 한다. 본 연구에서는 기존 주거단지에 사용되고 있는 가로조명기구들의 문제점을 분석하고 주거단지 가로조명이 갖는 특수성을 규명하여 이를 반영한 조명기구 디자인 및 운용방안을 제안하고자 한다.

A Study on Development Direction of Smart Pole for Smart City Construction

  • Smart pole is one of mega trend in smart city development. It has multi-function to get as much as data from the street to better city management. And smart street lighting of smart pole as core part of smart city development is being implemented by many cities in globally. Refer to the latest edition of Navigant Research's Smart City Tracker includes smart city projects in 221 cities, a quarter of which are deploying smart street lighting ranging from initial pilots to citywide and regional deployments that span tens and even hundreds of thousands of lights. The most important feature of smart street lighting solution is "Connectivity" through the IoT technology. In order to implement the smart city, we should have so-called intelligent watchdog and mesh networked post for keeping the various smart city technology development progress and operation properly. Smart street lighting solution could be main infrastructure as an enabler for a range of smart city applications. We can talk about the expected role of smart street lighting for the smart city development on this paper.

야간상업가로의 조명물리량 및 이미지 분석 - 보행자 시점을 기준으로 - (Analysis on Luminous Environment and Subjective Image of Two Different Commercial Streets at Night - Focused on View Point of Pedestrian -)

  • Streetscape plays on important role in urban cities. Characteristics of streets is basically defined by the building facade, signs, plants and paving during the daytime. However at night, street receives a new appearance due to the shop light from the buildings, exterior lightings, signboards and street light, and it creates most of the image of the streets. This study aims to analyze the luminous environment and its subjective image of two different pedestrian's commercial streets. Insa-dong street and Myungdong street were chosen for the study. Horizontal illuminance and luminance on building surface, advertisement billboards and pedestrian road were measured. Thirty students were asked to rate the five scaled questionnaire on their subjective images of the streets. Statistical analysis including profile, correlation and T-test are conducted and some findings are discussed

경주시 역사문화환경지구 내 상업가로경관에 영향을 미치는 요인 분석 (A Study on the Analysis of User's Satisfaction at the Commercial Street of Historic and Cultural Environmental Districts in Gyeongju)

  • This study aims to examine residents' satisfaction and behavioral condition at the commercial street of Historic and Cultural Environmental Districts in Gyeongju. To achieve this, the study relied on empirical study method and additionally, present condition survey was performed with a user interview. residents' satisfaction and preferences analysis was conducted to figure out present conditions and improvements. This work has completed a total analysis of the architectural characteristics and street factors among various factors which influence residents' satisfaction level including physical street equipments and street view factors which are main contents of previous studies and street improvement project. Using statistical analysis, each factor's significance was verified quantitatively. Accordingly, this study presents prior consideration points before planning the commercial street improvement project and the region development project.

현대 공공공간의 스트리트 퍼니처 디자인 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Characteristics of Street Furniture Design in Modern Public Space)

  • Street furniture such as benches, streetlamps, and shades which are easily accessible in cities has contributed to the promotion of active, lively environment for people living in cities. Furthermore, they make the characteristics of specific regions and cities, and are valued as a communication interface to restore the relationships between people and cities. The street furniture design with inherent publicness is an essential element for leisurely life and refined image of modern people who have experienced severance and mental poverty in uniform, vertical modern city space with the development of advanced science and technology. The purpose of this study is to analyze the new design approaches to street furniture which plays an important role in the determination of the images of modern city environment and to examine the characteristics and trends of such designs. First, in accordance with the flow of studies from publicness and public space to street furniture, the concept and meaning of publicness which is the basic element of public space were identified through theoretical examination, and the characteristics and roles of modern public space were analyzed through literature review, data review, and international cases. Based on the results of this theoretical analysis, the concept and meaning elements, function elements, and design elements of the street furniture which was planned in accordance with the goal and functions of public space were identified. For the meaning elements of street furniture design, fun, health, culture, sustainability, and vitalization were identified. For the function elements of street furniture design, convenience, safety, and delivery were identified. As the characteristics of modern street furniture design, convergent, green, digilog, functional, and universal designs were analyzed. This study is meaningful in that it recognized the roles of street furniture in modern public space as a concrete, practical environmental design element and estimated the development directions of street furniture design in public space.
