This study surveyed the altitudinal diversity and distribution of butterflies inhabiting Mt. Jirisan. Field surveys were conducted thrice (May, June, and July) using a line transect method along four routes in 2015. During the survey, a total of five families, 58 species, and 769 individuals were collected. Of the species collected, the majority belonged to the family Nymphalidae (28 species), followed by Hesperiidae (nine species), Pieridae (eight species), Lycaenidae (seven species), and Papilionidae (six species). As for the individuals, Pieridae accounted for the largest number (333 individuals), followed by Nymphalidae (309 individuals), Lycaenidae (63 individuals), Hesperiidae (33 individuals), and Papilionidae (31 individuals). A cluster analysis performed on the butterfly species distinguished three altitude zones. The butterflies showed different ecological traits in each of the altitude zones. Analysis of the altitudes of the habitats of eight dominant species revealed that each species inhabited a particular altitude. This study confirmed the hypothesis that continuous monitoring will identify changes in the altitudinal distribution and diversity of butterflies on Mt. Jirisan in response to climate change.

Effective science-based management of the basin water resources requires an understanding of the characteristics of the streams, such as the baseflow discharge. In this study, the base flow was estimated in the two watersheds with the least artificial factors among the Nakdong River watersheds, as determined using the chemical hydrograph separation technique. The 16-year (2004-2019) discontinuous observed stream flow and electrical conductivity data in the Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) monitoring network were extended to continuous daily data using the TANK model and the 7-parameter log-linear model combined with the minimum variance unbiased estimator. The annual base flows at the upper Namgang Dam basin and the upper Nakdong River basin were both analyzed to be about 56% of the total annual flow. The monthly base flow ratio showed a high monthly deviation, as it was found to be higher than 0.9 in the dry season and about 0.46 in the rainy season. This is in line with the prevailing common sense notion that in winter, most of the stream flow is base flow, due to the characteristics of the dry season winter in Korea. It is expected that the chemical-based hydrological separation technique involving TANK and the 7-parameter log-linear models used in this study can help quantify the base flow required for systematic watershed water environment management.

This paper reports the mode shapes of Seohae cable-stayed bridge extracted by TDD technique. In order to record total 72 acceleration points in the vertical direction of the bridge deck, a custom made data acquisition system with LAN communication has been especially developed and a set of ambient vibration tests has been conducted. For the measured acceleration responses, total twenty four mode shapes up to 2Hz has been extracted by TDD technique. The extracted mode shapes include many new modes that have not been identified in the current on-line health monitoring system installed in the bridge. It is confirmed that TDD technique is the most effective in extracting the high resolution mode shapes on a particularly long span bridge.
TThis study explored the requirement of fabric sensor that can measure the motion of the joint effectively by measuring and analyzing the variation in electric resistance of a sensor in accordance with bending and stretching motion of the arm by the implementation of a motion sensor utilizing conductive fabric. For this purpose, on both sides of two kinds of knitted fabric, namely 'L' fabric and 'W' fabric Single Wall Carbon Nano-Tube(SWCNT) was coated, fabric sensor was developed by finishing them in a variety of ways, and the sensor was attached to the arm band. The fabric sensor consisted of total 48 cases, namely background fabric for coating, the method of sensor attachment, the number of layer of sensors, the length of sensor, and the width of sensor. The performance of fabric motion sensors in terms of a dummy arm, that is, a Con-Trex MJ with 48 arm bands around it was evaluated. For each arm band, a total of 48, fastened around the dummy arm, it was adjusted to repeat the bending and stretching at the frequency : 0.5Hz, ROM : $20^{\circ}{\sim}120^{\circ}$, the voltage was recorded for each case after conducting three sets of repeat measurement for a total of 48 cases. As a result of the experiment, and as a consequences of the evaluation and analysis of the voltage based on the uniformity of the base line of the peak-to-peak voltage(Vp-p), the uniformity of Vp-p within the same set, and the uniformity of the Vp-p among three sets, the fabric sensors that have been configured in SWCNT coated 'L' fabric / welding / two layers / $50{\times}5mm$, $50{\times}10mm$, $100{\times}10mm$, and SWCNT coated 'W' fabric / welding / two layers / $50{\times}10mm$ exhibited the most uniform and stable signal value within 5% of the total variation rate. Through all these results of the experiment, it was confirmed that SWCNT coated fabric was suitable for a sensor that can measure the human limb operation when it was implemented as a fabric sensor in a variety of forms, and the optimal sensor types were identified.

Butterfly communities were monitored to investigate the emergence pattern with line transect method at Wolchulsan National Park through May to October in 2012. Totally 1,151 individuals belong to 49 species were monitored through the study period. Libythea celtis was a dominant species with showing 357 individuals(31%) followed by Pseudozizeeria maha 96 individuals(8.3%), Mycalesis gotama 75 individuals(6.5%) and Ninois dryas 72 individuals(6.2%) respectively. Among the monitoring periods, highest individuals and species(516 individuals belong to 30 species) were found at June and showed a high abundance near reservoir region. Highest diversity was shown at August with a Shannon index of 2.75 while lowest at October(Shanon index 1.78) and total diversity index was 1.71. Dominance values(Simpson index) showed highest at June with a value of 0.40 while lowest at September with a value of 0.07 and averaged 0.12. Kungol and Seongjeon compose a high similarity habitats with a similarity value of 0.52 and it was 0.17 at Kungol and Youngsan, lowest cases. Reservoir banks played a important role for habitats of specific species. It can be considered that they provide an open space of glass land for butterfly population, which was deficient at mountain area.
In recent yeaes, the collapses of man made structures have been encountered from time to time due to the deformation of the ground in korea. Furthermore, the possibilities of casasters from the ground deformation suCh as landslide and active fault are atrracting our attention to the deformation monitoring. In this study, two-coordinate tilt which was monitored during six months in order to develop tediniques for prevention of disasters from the ground deformation. The two-coordinate tilt which was detected by a tilt-sensor installed in shallow depth on the slope with the sensitivity of 0.0001 arc.sec in every 10 minutes was recorded continously to PC through the interface with 200-m line coonection. The observed digital tilt data. together with the relevant meteorological data were analyzed in reference to engineering application. During the whole observation period of six months, the net tilt is 10.06 arc.sec to the west and 73.88 arc.sec to the south. Consequently the ground has a tilt of 74.56 arc.sec to the direction of $S7.75^{\circ}W$ with average tilting of 0.02 arc.sec/hour. In spite of such fast and large tilting, it is interpreted in view of engineering aspects that the site is much safe from danger, since both East-West and North-South components of tilt converge as time goes by. Two categories of deformational events are recognized ; one is toward the direction of surface slope and the other is to the direction of increased pore pressure. Tiks are acenain to have a close relation with precipitation of rain. The daily variation of two-coordinate tilt is delayed 4.3 hours in average after the variation of atmospheric temperature. A certain correlation between atmospheric pressure and deformation might be revealed.

The radio communications by SSB and VHF transceivers are still used very efficiently in coast stations. The SSB and VHF equipments are very important to transmit and receive informations in the sea and the land. The communication system by the conventional SSB and VHF transceivers between a coast station and a terminal is an one-to-one system. In this dissertation, however, the conventional one-to-one system is expanded to one-to-multiple systems. Then, frequencies can be used effectively for distress, urgency, safety traffic. In addition, one to multi-number systems can be used to interrupt. When the ICS equipments are set up to the VHF transceiver. It is possible to communicate with ship in far distance the communication range can be enlarged. The line switching system by the ICS is to be remote-controlled by ASK modulated PTT signals and audio signals. An ICS can change a connection between terminal and transceiver through a circuit switching system at any time. For this purpose, the author has researched and developed a ASK transmission system, ICS system, control algorithm, multiprocessor system, and monitoring system. As a conclusion, the developed line switching control systems and equipments can be used effectively for maritime communication, military communication, fishery communication, etc.
The monitoring of urban area, target detection and building reconstruction have been actively studied and investigated since high resolution X-band SAR images could be acquired by airborne and/or satellite SAR systems. This paper describes an efficient approach to reconstruct artificial structures (e.g. apartment, building and house) in urban area using high resolution X-band SAR images. Building footprint was first extracted from 1:25,000 digital topographic map and then a corner line of building was detected by an automatic detecting algorithm. With SAR amplitude images, an initial building height was calculated by the length of layover estimated using KS-test (Kolmogorov-Smirnov test) from the corner line. The interferometric SAR phases were simulated depending on SAR geometry and changable building heights ranging from -10 m to +10 m of the initial building height. With an interferogram from real SAR data set, the simulation results were compared using the method of the phase consistency. One of results can be finally defined as the reconstructed building height. The developed algorithm was applied to repeat-pass TerraSAR-X spotlight mode data set over an apartment complex in Daejeon city, Korea. The final building heights were validated against reference heights extracted from LiDAR DSM, with an RMSE (Root Mean Square Error) of about 1~2m.

This paper describes design and implementation of signal transmission system using LCX as communication media, which has characteristics of high reliability easy for expansion and complex transmission of voice, data and video signal in Electric culvert. In this system, we estimated system performance as result of variable transmission characteristics test. In case of voice signal, transmission loss characteristics improved 5-10(dB] than designed Values in received signal level. In the test of speech quality estimation, we obtained satisfactory result as speech intensity = 3 (QSA value), speech atriculation = 4 (QRK value). As for data and video signal transmission, communication success rates were 981% 1 in monitoring and control functional test. As a result of transmission characteristics test in transmission line and system, transmission range by LCX communication system without repeater can reach in 6Km. This paper presents basic construction method using LCX communication system for total management in Electric culvert.
