A Study on the Analysis of Landscape Preference in the Rural Settlement by Land Use Transition (토지이용변화를 이용한 농촌경관 선호성 분석에 관한 연구)

  • This study identifies the features of landscape elements on the fifteen districts with the idea of land use area and visual quantity of pictures by analyzing the air photo. Therefore, the sensibility of observer is comprehended through simulating the landscape evaluation and the landscape preference with using slide film. The study is divided into three periods to understand the transition of rural landscape as the social and cultural environments have been changed. The first period is the New Community Movement which affected the rapid change of social and cultural environments. The second and third periods are the prior and post time at the rearrangement of administration district in the Tae-Jeon Broad City. The result of this study is explained below part; 1. The transition of rural landscape has been occurred as the land use pattern has been altered. The change of pattern has affected an increase of the natural space and the structure change of agricultural productive space. 2. In the regression analysis, the regression model of landscape preference and land use ratio show; Landscape preference = 3.632 - 11.618 (Residential Area) - 4.227 (Equipped Farm). The explanation variables defined as Residential Area and Equipped Farm, and the relationship of those factors shows negative. Therefore, the increase of other building will make the rural landscape lower and worse.

Quantitative Analysis of C. elegans Mutant Type Using Movement and Reversal Features

  • Caenorhabditis (C) elegans is often used in genetic analysis in neuroscience because its simple organism; an adult hermaphrodite contains only 302 neuron. So the worm is often used to study of cancer, alzheimer disease, aging, etc. To analysis mutant type of the worm, an experienced observer was able to subjectively before, but requirements for objective analysis are now increasing. For this reason, we use automated tracking systems to extract global movement coordinate of the worm. In this paper, we extract features, which are related on reversal and movement of the worm. Using these features, we quantitatively analysis 6 type mutant by movement and reversal characteristic.

  • In this paper, a surface mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor(SPMSM) drive system for industrial sewing machine was developed. Even through a lowr-esolution encoder is used for a low cost, using a full order observer enables to estimate accurate speed and position. And it also compensates a disturbance torque caused by the belt between a load and a motor. In order to control precisely stop positions of a needle, a speed trajectory is calculated from the acceleration pattern which is obtained from the position reference. The performance of the developed system is verified by experimental results.

  • Applying the theory of physiology and control systems, the visual system was studied as a regulator of impining light. The characteristics function of visual system is mainly analysed by spato-temporal characteristics based upon Enroth's model, Broca-Sulzer phenomenon and Mach effect. Some aims of this paper are as follows. (1) In order to get the excitatory and inhibitory potential of the intermediated cell layer in the retina, the exponential value, {exp(FM/kT)- $I_{mn}$ } is caculated based on the physiological theory in neuro-phenomena. (2) To show the visual characteristics by analog simulation for generating stimulus waveforms and analysis, the visual adaptation was recorded as electrical stimulation in the form of step functions. Furthermore, ti is shown that the above experimental data agrees satisfactorily with the theoretical (psychophysiological) values. This study is expected to lead to further studies concerned with human observer and human operator in control and especially pattern recognition systems.stems.

Analysis of Corneal Topography for Korean College Students Based on Computer-Assisted Videokeratography (각막지형도 검사를 이용한 대학생의 각막형태에 대한 연구)

  • Purpose : To define the distribution of normal corneal topographic patterns of Korean college students and compare them with previously published western data, Bogan et al's study. Methods : Computerized corneal topography was performed 220eyes normal subjects using CTK-922(Topography, swiss made). Mean age of the subjects was 23.2 yr.(range 19 to 57 yr.). The color-coded videokeratographs were classified by a masked observer according to the Bogan et al's classification such as round, oval, symmetric bow tie, asymmetric bow tie, and irregular. Results: The results revealed 57 eyes(25.9%) had round, 14 (6.4%) oval , 41(18.6%)symmetric bow tie, 78(35.5%) asymmetric bow tie, and 30(13.6%) irregular pattern. Conclusions : Our results of topographic patterns show the tendency of more irregular and less round topographic pattern in Korean college students, as compared to that of western adults.

Clothes Development with Human Design for Dwarf (왜소인을 위한 휴먼디자인 의복개발)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop the formal wear for social activity of dwarf. Second investigation for choices of designs based upon data from the first questionnaire investigation, led us to make proposals for design, pattern production, garment-cutting and dressmaking. The effect of wearing the made-up garments was carefully evaluated in order to establish principles for the development of clothes for dwarf. Conclusion is as follow. Dwarf felt uneasy in conventional street dress. When buying clothes their most important criteria was design wanted clothes that would help them to look taller. Analysis of design preference to complement perceived physical weak points revealed: 'a pink ensemble' comprising of a high-waist, one-piece dress, and a black slacks suit comprising of a striped, single-breasted, tailored jacket, and straight-type slacks and blouse. It was found that a bolero jacket and a high-waist, ankle-length, one-piece dress helped create an optical illusion of increased height, for both the wearer and an observer. A pastel ton-pink, one-piece also created this effect on small bodily types, as well as offering a silky, mellow attractiveness. A suit of a striped, single-breasted tailored jacket, and straight-type slacks and blouse, created the two fold illusion of disguising hip imbalance with the length of the jacket and drawing an onlooker\`s gaze to the wearer\`s face through the tailored collar, they also looked taller due to the stripes.

  • Fashion industry is high value added indust교, whose price is decided by design value so it requires creativity and uniqueness for competition. The purpose of this study is to grasp how the design characteristic of LED that can express new creativity and uniqueness is applied to fashion design and find out the expression characteristic of LED used in fashion design. The study subjects, the design to which LED is applied, were extracted from fashion show and internet search. As a study result, the expression characteristics of LED used for fashion design are as follows. First, for function, tool function that can provide convenience for life and expression function that can provide user with emotional and psychological satisfaction and communication were allowed. Second, for aesthetic changes, many-sided, multiple colors and pattern displays of LED changed design meaning visually and caused aesthetic emotion for observer. Third, for interaction, physical factor of LED, user, dress and environmental factor interacted each other, enabling both-sided communication. Fourth, for amusement, multiple lights of LED activated visual and tactile sense, expressing usefulness and joyfulness on the basis of various display possibilities and changes. The study result will be helpful for developing more unique, creative design according to the change of age and development of science.

Variation of the M2 tide amplitude around the Jeju-Do (제주도 주변 M 2조의 진폭변화)

  • The amplitudes of the M2 tide recorded at Seoguipo and Jeju are 77.9cm and 70.1cm respectively, which differ by 7.8cm over a distance of 30km across the Jeju-Do. The difference is an example of the geographical variation of the tidal amplitude around the Jeju-Do, the larger amplitude being along its southern coast compared with that along its northern coast. This variation can be explained in terms of effects of an island on the wave propagation as modelled by Proudman(1914). A numerical experiment of the M2 tide around the Jeju-Do reproduces the basic pattern of the observed variation and results are consistent with the theory. Due to the rotation of the earth larger and smaller amplitudes result along the left-hand and right-hand coasts of an island for an observer facing the direction of the wave propagation in the northern hemisphere.

Prediction of Thickness and Loading Noise from Aircraft Propeller (항공기용 프로펠러에서의 두께 및 하중소음 예측)

  • The aim of this research is to predict the thickness and loading noise of the round-tip shaped Hartzell propeller currently used in the general aviation aircraft. Before implementing the noise analysis, the pressure distribution on the propeller was obtained by using the free wake panel method and unsteady Bernoulli's equation. The noise signal at observer position can be obtained by using the FW-H equation. The noise prediction results for the propeller indicates that the thickness noise has s symmetric directivity pattern with respect to the tip path plane, while the noise due to loading shows higher noise directivity toward downstream than the upstream direction from the rotor plane. The loading noise is dominant rather than the thickness noise in normal operating condition.

  • Radio wave from a compact radio source such as a quasar are scattered by irregularities of electron density. The scattered waves interfere with each other as they propagate to the Earth producing diffraction patterns on the ground. This phenomenon is called interplanetary scintillation (IPS). The IPS pattern contains the information of solar wind velocities and density fluctuations passing across a line-of-sight (LOS) from an observer to a radio source. The IPS is a useful tool which allows us to measure the solar wind in three dimensional space inaccessible to in situ observations. Although the IPS measurement is an integral of solar wind velocities and density fluctuations along the LOS, which causes degradation of accuracy, we have succeeded to develop computer assisted tomography (CAT) analysis to remove the effect of LOS integration. These techniques greatly improved the accuracy of determinations of solar wind velocity structures. In this talk we present our IPS observation system and long-term variation of global solar wind structures from 1980-2009, then we focus on recent peculiar solar wind properties.
