Evaluation on the traffic count based O/D matrix using Trip Length Frequency Distribution (통행시간분포를 이용한 교통량기반 추정O/D의 신뢰성 평가에 관한 연구)

  • 현재까지 개발된 교통량 기반 O/D 추정기법들은 추정된 O/D의 신뢰성을 평가하는 기준으로 통계적 오차분석을 통한 참O/D(true O/D)와 추정O/D간의 타이를 분석하는 방법이 주류를 이루었다. 문제는 이러한 오차분석기법들이 현실적인 대규모 교통망상에 적용될 때 탐O/D를 알 수 없을 뿐만 아니라, 알 수 있다고 하더라도 추정된 O/D와의 비교 평가시에 그러한 평가방법으로 추정된 O/D의 신뢰성을 부여하기에는 많은 문제점을 가지고 있다는 점이다. 통행조사에 의한 O/D는 비록 포함되어 있는 정보가 과거의 정보라고 할지라도 현재의 통행흐름에 대하여 가장 많은 정보를 가지고 있다고 할 수 있다. 즉, 선행O/D의 정보를 크게 변화시키지 않으면서도 관측교통량으로 O/D를 추정할 수 있는 방법이 이 관점에서 매우 뛰어난 추정방법이라고 할 수 있다. 이러한 관점에서 본 연구에서는 선행O/D정보 중 통행수요예측시 가장 중요한 지표의 하나인 통행시간빈도분포 (TriP Length Frequency Distribution:TLFD)를 이용하여 추정O/D의 신뢰성 지표로 삼았다. TLFD는 4단계 모형에서 통행분포(trip distribution)시 모형을 정산하는 데 사용되는 방법으로써 죤간 통행시간을 단위별로 나누어 조사된 통행시간분포와 추정된 O/D의 통행시간분포가 유사한 지를 살피는 방법이라고 할 수 있다. 조사된 TLFD와 추정O/D의 TLFD가 유사한 모양을 이를 때 추정O/D의 신뢰성이 높다고 인정한다. 또한 TLFD는 전통적으로 조사된 표본O/D를 전 수화하는데 이용되어 그 타당성 또한 많이 검증되어 왔다. 그러나 아직까지 TLFD를 가지고 교통량으로 O/D를 추정하는 모형의 결과를 검증한 연구 결과는 없는 실정이다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 최종적인 이러한 분석결과를 평가할 수 있을 뿐 아니라, 평가된 지표가 신뢰할 만한 수준이 아니라면, 추정된 결과를 보정할 수 있는 가능성을 제시하고자 한다.

A Study on Inner Zone Trip Estimation Method in Gravity Model (중력모형에서 존내 분포통행 예측방법에 관한 연구)

  • Gravity Model estimates target year's distributed trips using three variables like as origin zone's trip production, destination zone's trip attraction and traffic impedance between origin zone centroid and destination zone centroid. Estimating inner zone trip by gravity model is impossible because traffic impedance of inner zone has "0" value. So till today, for estimating inner zone trips, other methods like growth factor model are used. This study proposed inner zone trip estimation method that calculates inner zone's traffic impedance using established gravity model and estimates inner zone trips by putting calculated traffic impedance into the gravity model. 1988 year's surveyed O-D as basic year's O-D, proposed method's and existing methods(growth factor method and regression model)'s estimated results of 1992 year's and 2004 year's were compared with each year's real O-D by $x^2$, RMSE, Correlation coefficient. And resulted that the proposed method is superior than other existing methods.

Construction Method of Time-dependent Origin-Destination Traffic Flow for Expressway Corridor Using Individual Real Trip Data (실제 통행기록 자료를 활용한 고속도로 Corridor 시간대별 O-D 구축)

  • More practical outputs and insights can be obtained through transportation analysis considering the time-dependent traffic movements. This study proposes a method of constructing time-dependent O-D trip tables for expressway corridor using real-world individual trip data. In this study, time-dependent O-D trip tables for the nationwide highway network are constructed based on toll collection system data. The proposed methodology is to convert nationwide time-dependent O-D trip tables into Korean expressway corridor O-D trip tables in order to deal with the computational complexity arising from simulating a large-scale traffic network. The experiment results suggest that actual individual trip record data can be used to effectively construct time-dependent O-D trip tables. They also imply that the construction of time-dependent O-D trip tables for the national highway networks along with those for Korean expressway developed in this study would make transportation analysis more practical and applicable to real-time traffic operation and control.

In order to disperse the traffic in the congestion area, ITS related techniques have been studied advancing. However, the cost of setting up and managing In is considerable to recently improve the problem or In, various traffic analysis technique are problem using low cost RFID. In this paper, the method of RFID-Reader location selection, which is a core technique to analyze traffic amount and traffic context is proposal. In order to systematically utilize traffic related road information, GIS is used for the proposal method. In addition, a rule-based model using O/D data that is the important information for selection the location of traffic observation.

Dynamic O-D Trip estimation Using Real-time Traffic Data in congestion (혼잡 교통류 특성을 반영한 동적 O-D 통행량 예측 모형 개발)

  • In order to estimate a dynamic origin and destination demand between on and off-ramps in the freeways, a traffic flow theory can be used to calculate a link distribution proportion of traffics moving between them. We have developed a dynamic traffic estimation model based on the three-phase traffic theory (Kerner, 2004), which explains the complexity of traffic phenomena based on phase transitions among free-flow, synchronized flow and moving jam phases, and on their complex nonlinear spatiotemporal features. The developed model explains and estimates traffic congestion in terms of speed breakdown, phase transition and queue propagation. We have estimated the link, on and off-ramp volumes at every time interval by using traffic data collected from vehicle detection systems in Korea freeway sections. The analyzed results show that the developed model describes traffic flows adequately.

Development of O/D Based Mobile Emission Estimation Model (기종점 기반의 도로이동오염원 배출량 추정모형)

  • This study presents O/D based emission estimation model and methodology under cold- and hot-start conditions. Contrasting with existing link-based model, new model is able to estimate cold-start emissions with actual traffic characteristics. The results of the case study with new model show similar amount of emission with existing model under hot-start conditions, but five times much more than existing model under cold-start conditions. The annual social benefit estimated by this model is 56.2 hundred million won, which is 48% higher than the result from existing model. It means current green transportation policies are undervalued in terms of air quality improvement. Therefore, New model is expected to improve the objectivity of air quality evaluation results regarding green transportation policies and be applied in various transportation-environment policies.

Macroscopic-Microscopic Sequential Traffic Simulation Analysis and Dynamic O/D Estimation for Sub-area (거시-미시 순차적 교통시뮬레이션 방법과 부분상세지구의 동적 O/D추정)

  • The study suggested a method to improve analysis accuracy such that the interactive effects of transportation changes between outside and inside of sub-areas were sequentially considered in the analysis by linking a macroscopic network analysis and a microscopic traffic simulation. A dynamic O/D estimation method was developed for practical implement of sub-area microscopic simulation analysis by using the results of macroscopic network analysis, the results of selected link analysis at the cordon line of the sub-area, departure time data of household travel survey, timely observed traffic volume data at the cordon. This estimated dynamic O/D for the sub-area made it possible to analyze traffic phenomena in details. Various detailed phenomena such as traffic queues, delay at intersection, and conflicts between vehicles, which is impossible to be grasped through a macroscopic analysis, can be analyzed with the dynamic microscopic traffic analysis. Through implementing an empirical study and validation, the study provided a reference result about accuracy of a microscopic traffic simulation of a sub-area to help its application for real transportation policy analysis.

Development of Classified Congestion Functions (도로유형별 지체함수 정립에 관한 연구)

  • 지체함수는 교통량과 속도의 관계를 단조 증가함수로 단순화하여 교통수요예측의 교통배정모형에 사용되게 된다. 이 지체함수를 구하는 방법은 두가지로 구분할 수 있는데, 첫째는 교통배정을 통해 구해지는 추정 링크통행량과 실측 교통량을 비교해 가면서 정산하는 방법이고 둘째는 교통량-속도 관계로부터 직접 구하는 방법이다. 첫째 방법은 구해진 O/D 통행량표의 부정확성과 모형에 내재하는 오류가 이 지체함수에 포함될 가능성이 매우 높은 단점을 가지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 교통량-속도 관계로부터 직접 도로유형별 지체함수를 구하여 교통배정에 적용하는 새로운 방법을 정입하였다. 교통망 전체에 대하여 단일 지체함수를 적용하는 기존의 방법은, 교통량 변화에 따른 통행시 간의 변화가 보다 둔감한 고급도로에 변화는 고급도로일수록 둔감하게 나타나며, 교통배정에 도로유형별 지체함수를 적용할 경우 단일 지체함수 적용시에 비하여 고급도로에 더 많은 교통량이 배정되게 된다. 본 연구의 결과, 교통망상에서 보다 현실적인 도로유형별 분담을 이룰 수 있는 방안이 정립됨으로써, 지금까지 교통배정에 있어 상대적으로 과소평가되어 왔던 고속도? 등 고급도로의 실제 타당성을 반영할 수 있게 되어 도로의 기능적 배차구조가 확립된 효율적인 교통망을 구성할 수 있는 계기를 마련한 것으로 판단된다.

A Study on Ways to Improve Benefits of Travel-time in Analyzing the Economic Efficiency (경제성분석시 통행시간절감편익 개선방안에 관한 연구)

  • This research has reviewed the ways to improve the benefits of shortening of transit hours among the benefit items in analysis of economic efficiency. The existing way of calculating the benefits of shortening the transit hours in analysis of economic efficiency has been using O/D in peak to multiply by 365. This method has a problem of not considering the change of traffic according to the month and the day of the week. To improve such problem, the volume of traffics at 361 regular research branches of the chronological statistics of traffic volume was used to analyze the pattern change of traffic volume per day of the week and per month by t-test and cluster analysis. The results show a difference in traffic volume according to the day of the week and the month. In the research example, a supposed O/D and network were used to apply weight per day of the week and per month to see a slight difference with the existing method of calculating benefits of shortening the transit hours. This signifies the necessity to study about the weight to consider the change pattern of traffic volume.
