The expert group of simulation developed the scenario based on actual abdominal pain by medical treatment records. Methods : Scenario was developed to evaluate the simMan3G simulation-based learning. The scenario was used in 2013 with ten groups of fourth grade 50 nursing students who voluntarily participated in the simulation class. Results : The nursing students were able to express nursing knowledge, learning attitude and self-efficacy. The simulation-based scenario proved to be very effective to students' skill training. The performance of nursing practice through simulation class made the nursing students more confident with patient care. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to describe characteristics of colleges implementing the accelerated second-degree bachelor of science in nursing program in South Korea and provide insight into strategies to improve the program outcomes. Methods: An on-line questionnaire developed for this study was emailed to deans of nursing colleges who were members of the Korean Association of College of Nursing. Questions included items related to nursing college, students, curriculum, and anticipated difficulty in relation to an increase of the number of second-degree students. Results: Out of 117 nursing schools, 33 schools (28.2%) participated in the on-line survey. The actual number of second-degree students and their ratio (about 10%) to regular students significantly increased in 2019. Male students were enrolled nearly twice as many times as regular students. Among the anticipated difficulties, clinical practice institutions (3.94) and clinical practice instructors (3.73) showed relatively higher scores than other difficulties such as teaching (3.58) and education facilities (3.30). Conclusion: In order to improve the quality of nursing education for second-degree students, more nursing faculties and innovative clinical practice support systems are needed. Future study is warranted to investigate the educational experience of second-degree students and graduates.

Purpose: This study examined the effects of guided imagery on stress, state anxiety, test anxiety and core basic nursing skill performance score of undergraduate nursing student. Methods: An equivalent control group pretest-posttest design was utilized. A total of 45 senior nursing students were randomly assigned to either an intervention group to receive guided imagery, or a control group (experimental group=23 students, control group=22 students). The guided imagery was provided via audio files to the intervention group for eight minutes, once a day for five days. The pretest was given before the intervention to measure variables for both groups, and the posttest was performed immediately afterward and three days after the intervention. Results: Significant differences were found between the two groups in stress ((F=4.94, p=.012), state anxiety (F=5.99, p=.005), and basic core nursing skill performance scores (Z=-2.45, p=.015). Conclusion: Guided imagery for nursing students has been identified as effective for stress, state anxiety, and basic core nursing skill performance scores. Guided imagery can be used as an effective intervention before performance tests. These study results can provide useful data for nursing education.

Purpose: This study aimed to identify the relationship between positive affectivity, self-leadership, and satisfaction of clinical practice among nursing students. Methods: This study was a descriptive correlational study. A total of 205 participants were obtained by convenience sampling from third- and fourth-year nursing students in three nursing schools. The data were collected by using a self-reporting questionnaire. Collected data were analyzed with SPSS Win 18.0. Results: Mean scores were 3.40 (5-point scale) for positive affectivity, 3.68 (5-point scale) for self-leadership, and 3.30 (5-point scale) for satisfaction of nursing clinical practice. There was a significant positive correlation of nursing students among positive affectivity (r=.43, p<.001), self-leadership (r=.41, p<.001), and satisfaction of clinical practice. The predictors were levels of satisfaction about nursing major, grade, positive affectivity, and rehearsal, which accounted for 34% of the variance in satisfaction with clinical practice nursing students. Conclusion: It is necessary to enhance the levels of satisfaction about nursing major, the level of positive affectivity, and self-leadership in nursing students. The results of this study delineate the need for the development and application of diverse educational programs that can increase positive affectivity and self-leadership for clinical practice.
