Soil nailing technique is being widely used for stabilization of vertical cuts because of its economic, environment friendly and speedy construction. Global stability and lateral displacement are the two important stability criteria for the soil nail walls. The primary objective of the present study is to evaluate soil nail wall stability criteria under the influence of in-situ soil variability. Finite element based numerical experiments are performed in accordance with the methodology of $2^3$ factorial design of experiments. Based on the analysis of the observations from numerical experiments, two regression models are developed, and used for reliability analyses of global stability and lateral displacement of the soil nail wall. A 10 m high prototype soil nail wall is considered for better understanding and to highlight the practical implications of the present study. Based on the study, lateral displacements beyond 0.10% of vertical wall height and variability of in-situ soil parameters are found to be critical from the stability criteria considerations of the soil nail wall.

The scope of this paper is focused to the systems which have the time period and they should be necessarily studied in the sense of stability and design method of controller to stabilize the orignal unstable systems. In general, the time periodic systems or the systems having same motions during certain time interval are easily found in rotating motion device, i.e., satellite or helicopter and widely used in factory automation systems. The characteristics of the selected dynamic systems are analyzed with the new stability concept and stabilization control method based on Lyapunov direct method. The new method from Lyapunov stability criteria which satisfies the energy convergence is studied with linear algebraic method. And the numerical procedures are developed with computational programming method to apply to the practical linear periodic systems. The results from this paper demonstrate the usefulness in analysis of the asymptotic stability and stabilization of the unstable linear periodic system by using the developed simulation procedures.
Due to the various restrictions and problems related to the construction of new roads in urban areas, underground road construction has been receiving a great deal of attention in the field of tunnel engineering. In this study, a double-deck road tunnel with a diverging section was analyzed for the evaluation of its stability. Both numerical analysis and scale model tests were performed, the results were used to develop a stability evaluation method for double-deck tunnels with diverging sections constructed in rocks by NATM. From regression analyses conducted on the results of the numerical analysis, an equation and a chart were derived, these tools allow us to obtain the strength/stress ratio (SSR) for double-deck road tunnels with a diverging tunnel in various diverging conditions quickly and accurately. These tools have great potential to help engineers evaluate the stability of double-deck tunnels in the preliminary design stage.
In this paper, a finite element (FE) simulation has been developed in order to examine the nonlinear stability of reinforced sandwich beams with graphene oxide powders (GOPs). In this regard, the nonlinear stability curves have been obtained asuming that the beam is under compressive loads leading to its buckling. The beam is considered to be a three-layered sandwich beam with metal core and GOP reinforced face sheets and it is rested on elastic substrate. Moreover, a higher-order refined beam theory has been considered to formulate the sandwich beam by employing the geometrically perfect and imperfect beam configurations. In the solving procedure, the utalized finite element simulation contains a novel beam element in which shear deformation has been included. The calculated stability curves of GOP-reinforced sandwich beams are shown to be dependent on different parameters such as GOP amount, face sheet thickness, geometrical imperfection and also center deflection.

Numerical assessment of the dynamic stability behavior of nonlocal beams rested on elastic foundation has been provided in the present research. The beam is made of fucntional graded (FG) porous material and is exposed to thermal and humid environments. It is also consiered that the beam is subjected to axial periodic mechanical load which especific exitation frequency leading to its instability behavior. Beam modeling has been performed via a two-variable theory developed for thick beams. Then, nonlocal elasticity has been used to establish the governing equation which are solved via Chebyshev-Ritz-Bolotin method. Temperature and moisture variation showed notable effects on stability boundaries of the beam. Also, the stability boundaries are affected by the amount of porosities inside the material.
We study the stability of traveling waves of a certain chemotaxis model. The traveling wave solution is a central object of study in a chemotaxis model. Kim et al. [8] introduced a model on a population and nutrient densities based on a nonlinear diffusion law. They proved the existence of traveling waves for the one dimensional Cauchy problem. Existence theory for traveling waves is typically followed by stability analysis because any traveling waves that are not robust against a small perturbation would have little physical significance. We conduct a numerical nonlinear stability for a few relevant instances of traveling waves shown to exist in [8]. Results against absolute additive noises and relative additive noises are presented.

A numerical model analysis was performed to analyze the stability of the mooring lines of an automatic submersible fish cage system in waves and currents. The fish cage system consisted of a 12-angled rigid frame, net cage, cover net, 12 upper floats, 12 tanks(for fixed and variable ballast), mooring lines, anchors, and a control station. Simulations were performed with the cage at the surface of the water and at a depth of 20 m. A Morison equation type model was used for simulations of the system in two configurations. The force parameters described both regular and random waves, with and without currents, and their values were input to the model. Mooring tension calculations were conducted on the mooring lines, grid lines and lower bridle lines of the cage. The stability of the mooring lines was checked under both static and dynamic conditions.

In this paper, numerical robust stability analysis method and its design are presented. L$_2$robust stability of the fuzzy system is analyzed by casting the systems into the diagonal norm bounded linear differential inclusions (DNLDI) formulation. Based on the linear matix inequality (LMI) optimization programming, a numerical method for finding the maximum stable ranges of the fuzzy feedback linarization control gains is proposed.

An improved numerical method to obtain the exact element stiffness matrix is newly proposed to perform the spatially coupled elastic and stability analyses of non-symmetric thin-walled beam-columns with two-types of elastic foundation. This method overcomes drawbacks of the previous method to evaluate the exact stiffness matrix for the spatially coupled stability analysis of thin-walled beam-column. This numerical technique is firstly accomplished via a generalized eigenproblem associated with 14 displacement parameters by transforming equilibrium equations to a set of first order simultaneous ordinary differential equations. Then exact displacement functions are constructed by combining eigensolutions and polynomial solutions corresponding to non-zero and zero eigenvalues, respectively. Consequently an exact stiffness matrix is evaluated by applying the member force-deformation relationships to these displacement functions.
