  • Proportion of falling from height accident at construction work accounts for more than 40%, and the number of injuries is getting increased. So without considering falling from height, we can say that it's hard to achieve our goal(accident prevention). Another critical point that we have to think about theses days is the fact that construction workers are getting older. To be specific, the number of workers who are above 50 years old accounts for 65.6% among the fatalities(2007~2011, KOSHA inspection). Accordingly, to effectively prevent construction accedents, especially falls from height, we need to focus on motion analysis of older construction workers and then make suitable measures for growing accident rates at construction work.

  • This investigation compared the eyewitness accounts of 5-year-old children by verbal-only inter views and interviews using anatomically neutral dolls. The verbal interviews consisted of free recall, specific question, and leading questions. While the overall accuracy of the interviews increased with the introduction of dolls as memory aids, the efficacy of the dolls was not uniform across types of interviews. In free recall, the dolls were not effective in eliciting accurate accounts. The use of dolls also did not compromise the memory of children in free recall which recalled greater number of correct details with the memory aids than without, but it should be careful in free recall could be reported exactly correct in spite of little bit amounts. Responses to leading questions showed that the children were affected by suggestive misleading question and were susceptible to incorporation of that information into their memory.

Embodied Energy and $CO_2$ Emissions Evaluation for Freight Transport

  • This study aim at demonstrating the environmental performance of freight transport of the rail and road mode through an indicator of embodied energy and $CO_2$ emissions. Using the concept of LCA, the scope of evaluation includes energy production, supply chain activity and operation. The results of embodied energy and $CO_2$ emissions are normalized by means of traffic volume. The results shown that embodied $CO_2$ emissions road mode is 607.07 $gCO_2-eq./tkm$ and 284.67 $gCO_2-eq./tkm$ for road and rail mode, respectively. This number reveals that road mode is 2.1 times larger than rail mode. The results also indicate that the main contribution of $CO_2$ emission from road mode is in the operation stage, which accounts for 70%; however, it is the construction and supply chain stage that accounts for over 50% of the emission of rail mode.

  • 울릉도산 홍조 산호말과 식물 4종, Amphiroa beauvoisii Lamouroux, Jania yenoshimensis (Yendo) Silva 및 Corallina officinalis Linnaeus에 대한 분류학적 검토를 수행하였다. S. maxima (Yendo) Silva는 본 연구를 통하여 처음으로 보고되는 한국산 미기록 식물이다. J. yenoshimensis (Yendo) Yendo는 형태적 특징이 기준표본의 기재와 잘 일치하였고, 외형적 특성에서 J. arborescens와 다소 유사하지만 식물체의 크기와 분지양상에서 뚜렷이 구분되었다. C. officinalis는 다수의 수세포층을 갖는다는 점을 제외하고 유럽산 식물과 형태적 특징이 일치하였다.

고의적인 연속 인증실패에 대처하는 IP주소와 횟수 기반의 계정 잠금 방지에 관한 연구 (A Study on IP Address and Threshold-based Account Lockout Prevention to Deal with Intentional Consecutive Authentication Failures)

  • An attacker with a malicious purpose can intentionally type other users' accounts and passwords, causing them to be locked or revoked. Although NIST introduced methods to prevent this attack, all suggested methods are inappropriate to prevent an attacker from manually failing authentication, and reduce user availability. In this paper, in order to prevent user account lockout due to an attacker's intentional authentication failure, we propose a new authentication method using IP address and number of failed authentication. The proposed method not only blocks attackers who intentionally try to fail authentication, but also provides convenience to users because accounts are not locked or revoked. It can also safely protect passwords against password cracking attacks.

  • This paper presents a concept on seat assignment systems. The concept is based on the assumption that customers or passengers prefer to select seats at their own choosing and allowing them to do so would fragment remaining seats. This undesirable condition may make a group of people intending to be seated together unable to find a sufficient number of consecutive seats. The concept proposed is to set aside a number of seats when the map of available seats is shown for customer's selection. A number of functions are created to allot seats to be visible for choosing according to the number and locations of the remaining seats and the number in the group of the passengers. Passengers' preferences such as window or aisle seating, front seating are taken into accounts. A primitive example of seat assignment system of a Boeing 717 aircraft, assuming the number of passengers in a group being 1, 2 or 3, is given based on the concept.

보험심사전문간호사(가칭) 수요추계에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Prediction of Projected Workforce of Certified Insurance Reviewer Nurses(CIRNs) in Korea)

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was to suggest the number about the projected workforce of Certified Insurance Reviewer Nurses(CIRN) in Korea. Method : The following methods were used for this study: 1) national and international internet data were collected. 2) demand model was used for the prediction of the projected workforce of CIRN. 3) experts in insurance reviewing were contacted to get an opinion and information about the criteria of distribution and scope of CIRNs, 4) we figured out the maximum and minimum number of CIRN Korea needed as followed method, the maximum number was estimated that one CIRN would review 150 cases of Detailed Accounts for Examination and Treatment and the minimum was estimated 200 cases of it. 5) time series regression equation analysis was used for the prediction of number of CIRNs for the year 2003 to 2010. Result: 1) The prediction of CIRNs is as follows, there will be 2,313$\sim$2,827 of CIRN demanded in 2002, 2,500$\sim$3,069 in 2005 and 2,806$\sim$3,466 in 2010. 2) It is really desirable that CIRNs not only work for reviewing the detailed accounts for examination and treatment in hospital but also for inspecting allowance in individual insurance company. Conclusion : It is very desirable that the CIRN advocate the clients' rights because they will work for them satisfactory rather than other hospital experts group. But before settling the system of the CIRN in Korea, there would be its own professional role identity and a code of conduct.

  • 온라인 P2P 대출(Online Peer-to-Peer Lending)이란 대출자(차입자)들이 인터넷 및 모바일 P2P 플랫폼을 통해 대출을 신청하면 P2P 플랫폼 기업이 이를 심사하고, 공개하여 불특정 다수가 자금을 빌려주고 이자를 받는 대출중개 서비스를 말한다. 국내외적으로 P2P 대출시장의 성장과 수익률에 대한 관심이 커진 상황에서 현재는 P2P 대출에 대한 안정성 측면에서 문제가 제기되고 있다. P2P 대출시장은 높은 수익률을 제공하지만 P2P 업체의 연체율과 부실률(채무불이행률)도 함께 높아지고 있는 실정이다. P2P 금융시장의 신뢰도를 높이기 위해서는 P2P 대출의 연체율과 채무불이행률을 줄이는 것이 무엇보다 중요하다. 본 연구는 세계적인 P2P 기업인 렌딩클럽(Lending Club)의 P2P 대출거래데이터베이스를 이용하여 인공지능기반의 P2P 채무불이행 예측모형을 구축하고자 한다. 구체적으로 벤치마크(benchmark) 모형으로 통계기법인 판별분석과 로지스틱 회귀분석을 이용하고, 인공지능기법으로는 신경망, CART, 그리고 C5.0을 이용하여 P2P 대출거래의 채무불이행 예측모형을 구축하고자 한다. 연구결과, P2P 대출거래의 채무불이행 예측을 위해 우선 고려해야 할 변수는 대출이자율이며, 중요도 3순위에 가장 많이 언급된 대출금액과 총부채상환비율도 고려해야 할 요인으로 추출되었다. 전통적인 통계기법보다는 인공지능기법의 예측성과가 더 좋은 것으로 나타났으며, 신경망의 경우 모든 데이터 셋에서 오분류율이 가장 낮은 예측모형으로 나타났다.

A Second Order Exact Scaling Method for Turbomachinery Performance Prediction

  • A scaling method valid for most turbomachines based on first principles is derived. It accounts for axial and centrifugal turbomachines with respect to relative gap width/tip clearance, relative roughness, Reynolds number and/or Mach number for design and off-design operation as well. The scaling method has been successfully validated by a variety of experimental data obtained at TU Darmstadt. The physically based, hence reliable and universal method is compared with previous, empirical scaling methods.

Vibration and stability analyses of thick anisotropic composite plates by finite strip method

  • In the present study, a finite strip method for the vibration and stability analyses of anisotropic laminated composite plates is developed according to the higher-order shear deformation theory. This theory accounts for the parabolic distribution of the transverse shear strains through the thickness of the plate and for zero transverse shear stresses on the plate surfaces. In comparison with the finite strip method based on the first-order shear deformation theory, the present method gives improved results for very thick plates while using approximately the same number of degrees of freedom. It also eliminates the need for shear correction factors in calculating the transverse shear stiffness. A number of numerical examples are presented to show the effect of aspect ratio, length-to-thickness ratio, number of plies, fibre orientation and stacking sequence on the natural frequencies and critical buckling loads of simply supported rectangular cross-ply and arbitrary angle-ply composite laminates.
