수평배관에서의 열유동 성층화현상에 대한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on the Thermal Flow Stratification in a Horizontal Piping System)

  • Characteristics of thermal flow stratification were studied experimentally by using the small scale pressurizer-surge line model. Thermal flow stratifications in the horizontal section of surge line were analyzed by the relation between the maximum temperature difference at any cross section in surge line and the Froude number representing the boundary conditions, i.e., in/out surge flow velocity and temperature difference of system. Thermal flow stratifications in outsurge flow decreased inversely proportional to the Froude number and did not exist for Fr>1. In insurge flow thermal flow stratifications disappeared near Fr=1.5, but resulted in the higher temperature difference than the case of outsurge flow.

  • The purpose of this study is basically for the use of simulations to enhance productivity. In this paper, the optimal number of allocation in a small and medium industry which produces eleutherococcus senticosus sap, is performed using simulations. The simulation model was developed under considerations of production layout, process & operation, process time, total work time, work in process (WIP), utilization, failure rate, and operation efficient as inputs, and was validated with careful comparisons between real behaviors and outputs of the production line. Therefore, we can evaluate effects and changes in productivity when some strategies and/or crucial factors are changed. Although too many workers and machines could decrease productivity, the eleutherococcus senticosus sap production line in this paper has been maintained many machines. To solve this problem, we determined the optimal number of workers and machines that could not cause any interrupt in productions using simulations. This simulation model considers diverse input variables which could influence productivity, and it is very useful not only for the production line of Eleutherococcus Senticosus Sap, but also for other production lines with various purposes, especially, in the small and medium industries.

Line Balancing을 위한 최적 Cycle Time의 결정방법 (A Study on the Determination of Optimum Cycle Time for Assembly Line Balancing)

  • Although the product line produces a large volume of goods in a relatively short time, once the product line is established there are numerous problems that arise in connection with this product line. One of these problems is the problem of balancing operations or stations in terms of equal times and in terms of the times required to meet the desered rate of production. The objective of line balancing is minimizing the idle time on the line for all combinations of work stations subject to certain restrictions. In general, there are two types of line-balancing situations : (1) assembly line balancing and (2) fabrication line balancing. Two approaches to the assembly line balancing problem have been used. The first assumes a filed cycle time and find the optimum number of work stations. The second approach to the assembly line balancing problem assumes the number of work stations to be fixed and systematically coverages on a solution which minimizes the total delay time by minimizing the cycle time. Here the cycle time is determined by the longest station time. In this paper, by using the second approach method, a general mathematical model, problem solutions, and computer program for the assembly line balancing problem is presented. Data used is obtained from the company which has been confronted with many problems arising in connection with their assembly line.

A New Mathematical Formulation for the Classical Assembly Line Balancing Problem

  • This paper presents a new integer formulation (Type III ALB) for a single model assembly line balancing problem. The objective of the formulation is to minimize the total idle time, which is defined as the product of the number of work stations and the cycle times minus the total work content. This formulation considers currently existing Type I (minimizing the number of work stations for a given cycle time) and type II (minimizing the cycle time for a given number of work stations) formulations as its special cases and provides the global minimum solutions of the cycle time and the number of work stations. This information would be of great value to line designers involved in designing new assembly lines and rebalancing old lines under flexible conditions. Solution methods based on combination of Type I and Type II approaches are also suggested and compared.

On-line System Identification using State Observer

  • This paper deals one of the methods of system identification, especially on-line system identification in time-domain. The algorithm in this study needs all states of the system as well input to it for system identification. In this reason, Kalman filter is used for state estimation. But in order to implement a state estimator, the fact that a system model must be known is logical contradiction. To overcome this, state estimation and system parameter estimation are performed simultaneously in one sample. And the result of the system parameter estimation is used as basis to state estimation in next sample. On-line system identification comes, in every sample by performing both processes of state estimation and parameter estimation that are related mutually and recursively. This paper demonstrates the validity of proposed algorithm through an example of an unstable inverted pendulum system. This algorithm can be useful for on-line system identification of a system that has fewer number of measurable output than system order or number of states.

버스몰림운행 지속시간 추정모형 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on Development of Bus Bunching Duration Model)

  • 본 연구는 정류소에서 여러노선의 버스가 동시에 몰려들어오는 버스몰림운행의 실태를 파악하고 이로 인해서 야기되는 문제점을 개선하기 위하여 버스몰림 운행지속시간 모형을 추정하고 버스몰림운행에 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석하였다. 버스몰림지속시간의 관측치를 대상으로 8개의 지속시간에 대한 분포를 검토하여 가장 적합도가 높게 나타난 weibull 분포를 가정한 모형을 개발하였다. 18개 영향변수를 검토하였으며 정차면수, 정차면수당 노선수, 노선당 최대 승하차인원을 설명변수로 하는 버스몰림운행 지속시간 모형을 개발하였다. 중앙버스전용차로(도봉미아로)와 가로변 전용 및 일반차로(통일의주로)에 대한 모형을 각각 도출하여 비교하였다. 그 결과, 도봉미아로의 몰림지속시간은 통일의주로에 비해 교통량에 대한 영향을 많이 받으며, 통일의주로는 도봉미아로에 비해 정차면수와 정차면수당 노선수, 노선당 최대 승하차인원에 많은 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다. 개발된 모형을 토대로 버스몰림운행 현상의 완화방안을 제시하였다.

이론적인 고찰에 의한 라인 밸런싱 알고리즘의 비교 연구 (A Study on the Comparison of Line Balancing Algorithms with Theoretical Consideration)

  • Line balancing algorithm can be classified by two class, the analytical method and the heuristic method. In this thesis the study was focused on the determinstic line balancing model of the single model production assembly line balancing which is one of the heuristic method. The algorithm of Tonge, Kilbridge & Wester, Helgeson & Birnie which is using the analytical method was examined with one example. And then the algorithms were compared with using line balancing-efficiency, number of work station, standard deviation and range. The result showed that Helgeson & Birnie algorithm is the most convenient in use. A computer program was run in order to use Helgeson & algorithm more conveniently.

  • Whole number concept is an important part of mathematics learning. Elementary school students should understand and master whole number concept. Models can help students learn whole number concepts. Realistic Mathematics Education in Netherlands had investigated and developed three different structural models: line model, group model, combination model. These models are related whole number concepts and structures closely and compatible. The purpose of this study is to investigate models related with whole numbers in 7th elementary textbooks. As a result of analyses, we found out some pattern and several problems. On the foundation of the analyses, we discussed the better ways of using models in teaching whole number and the research issues concerning these.

단일모델 단측 조립라인 균형문제의 주경로 군집화 알고리즘 (A Single-model Single-sided Assembly Line Balancing Problem Using Main-path Clustering Algorithm)

  • 본 논문은 NP-난제 문제로 알려진 단일모델 단방향 조립라인 균형문제에 대해 휴리스틱 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 조립라인 균형문제는 주로 메타휴리스틱 방법들을 적용하고 있는 추세이다. 제안된 알고리즘은 최종제품이 생산될 때까지 가장 많은 공정으로 조립되는 경로를 주경로로 설정하고, 주경로를 따라가면서 각 작업자에게 순환시간 조건을 만족하는 작업량을 배정하는 군집화 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 제안된 알고리즘은 최소의 작업자수를 결정하고, 순환시간도 단축시키는 결과를 얻었다. 9개의 다양한 실험 데이터에 제안된 주경로 군집화 휴리스틱 알고리즘을 적용한 결과 메타휴리스틱 방법들에 비해 보다 좋은 성능을 갖고 있음을 보였다.

철도선로용량 계산을 위한 강인성 분석모형에 관한 연구 (A Study on Robustness Analysis Model for Calculating Line Capacity in Railroad System)

  • Railroad system is consisted of resources of rail track, signal system, and vehicles. Railway operation must use these limited resources and maximize resource utilization. Line capacity(number of trains throughput/day) is determined by such as parameters, line utilization rate($\alpha$), dummy rate for the break-through hour($\beta$), and dummy rate for the number of rail track intervals($\delta$). Line capacity simulation(LCS) determined the line capacity through simulation given $\alpha$, $\beta$, and $\delta$. This paper deals with the development of parameter evaluation simulation(PES). PES presents the decision maker with the relationship of line capacity and measurement of robustness for various scenarios in different parameters and then the decision maker can determine the appropriate parameters.
