은닉 마코프 모델을 이용한 정신질환자의 뇌파 판별 (The Classification of the Schizophrenia EEG Signal using Hidden Markov Model)

  • 본 논문에서는 은닉 마코프 모델을 이용하여 정상인과 정신분열증 환자의 뇌파에 대한 새로운 자동 판별 방법을 제안하였다. 특징 파라미터로는 통계적 정상구간에 대한 분산과 알파파, 베타파, 세타파의 전력비를 이용하였다. 실험 결과, 정상인의 경우에는 90.9%, 정신분열증 환자의 경우에는 90.5%의 높은 판별 정확성을 보였으며 이는 제안한 시스템이 복잡한 신호처리과정을 이용하는 시스템보다 효과적임을 알 수 있다. 따라서, 은닉 마코프 모델이 뇌파와 같은 복잡한 생체신호의 분석과 판별에 사용될 수 있으며 제안한 방법이 임상적인 전단에 상당한 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다.

일부 남자 정상인의 혈액 및 뇨중 연함량 (Lead Levels in Blood and Urine of a Normal Male Person in Korea)

  • In order to provide a basic data for the prevention of the adverse effect of lead on health, We examined lead level in the blood and urine of 371 healthy men living in Choongchung-do from May to June, 1997. The results were as follows ; 1. Average lead level of all the subjects was $3.98{\pm}1.02{\mu}g/dl$ in blood, and $3.94{\pm}2.09{\mu}g/L$ in urine, respectively. Lead contents examined in this study were significantly lower than those of other investigators. 2. The lead levels of all the subjects in blood and urine had almost normal distribution. 3. Relation between lead content in blood and urine was a simple linear regression; its equation was "Lead level in blood=36.76+0.77 lead level in urine".

  • Epilepsy is a neurological condition that from time to time produces brief disturbances in the normal electrical functions of the brain, Normal brain function is made possible by millions of tiny electrical charges passing between nerve cells in the brain and to all parts of the body. They may affect a person's consciousness, bodily movements or sensations for a short time. These physical changes are called epileptic seizures. These clinical data, gathered an epileptic seizure whose main symptom was convulsion, was analyzed. This clinical report pertains to a 51 year-old man who suffered an epileptic seizure and after effects of weakness. He was treated with ChongsimOndamTang(淸心溫膽湯). The cheif symptom, epileptic seizure, disappeared and general conditions improved after Korean medical treatments, so this is reported as a potential treatment.

웨이블릿 변수화의 최적화를 통한 적응형 조기심실수축 검출 알고리즘 (An Adaptive Classification Algorithm of Premature Ventricular Beat With Optimization of Wavelet Parameterization)

  • The bio signals essentially have different characteristics in each person. And the main purpose of automatic diagnosis algorithm based on bio signals focuses on discriminating differences of abnormal state from personal differences. In this paper, we propose automatic ECG diagnosis algorithm which discriminates normal heart beats from premature ventricular contraction using optimization of wavelet parameterization to solve that problem. The proposed algorithm optimizes wavelet parameter to let energy of signal be concentrated on specific scale band. We can reduce the personal differences and consequently highlight the differences coming from arrhythmia via this process. The proposed algorithm using ELM as a classifier show high discrimination performance between normal beat and PVC. From the experimental results on MIT-BIH arrhythmia database the performances of the proposed algorithm are 98.1% in accuracy, 93.0% in sensitivity, 96.4% in positive predictivity, and 0.8% in false positive rate. This results are similar or higher then results of existing researches in spite of small human intervention.

  • This paper describes a multichannel epileptic seizure detection algorithm based on wavelet transform(WT), artificial neural network(ANN) and expert system. First, through the WT, a small number of wavelet coefficients is used to represent the single channel epileptic spike. Next, 3-layer feed-forward network employing the error back propagation algorithm is trained and tested using parameters obtained above. Finally, 16 channel expert system which is based on clinical experience is introduced as a artifact rejection and reliable detection. The suggested algorithm was implemented on personal computer(PC). Two main events i.e., epileptiform and normal activities, were selected from 32 person's EEGs(normal: 20, seizure disorder: 12) in consensus among experts. The result was that WT reduced data input size and ANN detected 97 of the 100 EEGs containing definite spike - sensitivity of 97%. Expert rule system was capable of rejecting a wide variety of artifacts commonly found in EEG recordings. It also reduced false positive detections of ANN.

정상인의 지신근 근육기능에 대한 천자와 심자의 효과 비교 : 무작위 배정 임상연구 (Comparison of the Effect of Superficial Acupuncture and Deep Acupuncture on Finger Extensor Muscle Function of Normal Person : Randomized controlled trial)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study is to compare the effect of superficial acupuncture to deep acupuncture on normal muscle function. Methods : In Group A, 12 healthy subjects had been treated by deep acupuncture(10mm). In Group B, 12-healthful subjects had been treated by superficial acupuncture(5mm). Each session took 10 minutes. Before and after the treatment, outcomes were assessed by Algometer for muscle tenderness, dynamometer for grasping power and Meridian-Electromyograph(MEMG) for extensor muscles. Results : The Contraction power of finger extensor muscles assessed by MEMG had decreased significantly in both groups. The muscle fatigue of finger extensor muscles assessed by MEMG had increased significantly in Deep acupuncture group. Grasping power assessed by dynamometer had no significant change in both groups. Conclusions : According to above results, superficial acupuncture is more effective on reducing muscle fatigue.

등압타액선조영촬영법을 이용한 정상성인의 이하선에 관한 연구 (A ROENTGENOGRAPHIC STUDY OF NORMAL PAROTID GLANDS USING ISOBARIC SIALOGRAPHY)

  • The aim of this study was to establish the diagnostic criteria of normal parotid glands in adults revealing the anatomical shape, its variations and the postitional relationships of the gland. Materials included 96 lateral and anterior-posterior sialograms of selected person from 23 to 28 years of age. Results were as follows: 1. The average length and lateral displacement of main duct was 48.43㎜ and l6.88㎜. The mean lumen diameter of that was 0.91㎜ in distal end and 1.40㎜ in hilar end in parotid glands. 2. The average angle of main duct to the inferior border of mandib was 34.32 degree. In configurations of main duct, modified curvilinear type was. most prevalent and followed by curvilinear, reverse sigmoid, sigmoid type. 3. The mean caliber of parotid gland was the longest in superior-inferior. 4. The interlobar ducts showed relatively well defined in all cases, its average number was 5.72. Arrangement of these ducts showed at random. Accessory lobe showed 87.5% in the all cases, its average number was 1.7. 5. There were no difference between the well and poorly defined acinar fillings in the glandular parenchyme. 6. There were no differences between right and left parotid glands in size and shape of main duct and parenchymal portion, but there were great variations in each individuals.

  • Impact sounds, such as those created by footsteps, the dropping of an object or the moving of furniture, can be a source of great annoyance in residential buildings. Running and jumping impact sound by child and walking by adult are one of the most irritating noises in an apartment buildings. It's necessary to know that the impact power characteristics of real impact source in an apartment buildings. This study aims to investigate the impact power and impact time of normal walking and fast walking for 62 adults. It is shown that when the weight of the person increase, the maximum impact power increases. The impact power waveform for the adults walking varies for subjects walking types. The normal walking impact power lower than that of fast walking and impact time is higher than that of fast walking. The range of the impact power generated by adults walking is less than 1000 N.

정상 성인의 혈청 철과 TIBC 및 Ferritin의 Circadian Rhythm에 대한 연구 (A Study on Serum Ferrum, TIBC, and Ferritin's Circadian Rhythm in Normal Adults)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify characteristics of serum ferrum, TIBC and ferritin's circadian rhythm in normal adults and to prepare a standard to determine the examination material extraction time. Method: Nine women and ten men made up the convenience sample for this study they were from the staff of D university hospital and students in D medical School located in K city who met the qualifications for inclusion in the sample. The value of serum ferrum, TIBC and circadian rhythm were calculated as follows : First. each variable's amplitude. the acrophase and average were measured for a 24 hour cycle using the cosinor method, and then each person's rhythm was analyzed. Results: There were significant serum iron circadian rhythm for both men and women (p<.05). For the men, mesor was $105.91{\mu}g/dl$. amplitude was $29.52{\mu}g/dl$, and the acrophase was 9.76 hour. For the women, mesor was $108.17{\mu}g/dl$, amplitude was $28.09{\mu}g/dl$, and the acrophase was 11.42 hour The rhythm change of TIBC was only significant for the women (p<.05), mesor was 383.39mg/dl, amplitude was 60.29mg/dl. and the acrophase was 14.93hour. As for the circadian rhythm of the ferritin, there are no diurnal variation in either sex, men were between 134.0ng/ml and 137.4ng/ml, and women, between 29.1ng/ml and 30.1ng/ml. Conclusion: To help diagnose the boundary line between normal or deficiency in iron, measurement should be carried out at a fixed time in the morning and evening, or a more proper time would be in the afternoon at the time when the width of amplitude is the least.

연중독치료시 혈중연, 뇨중연, 뇨중 Coproporphrin, 뇨중 ${\delta}$-Aminolevulinic acid의 변화 (Change of Laboratory Parameters during Treatment of Lead Poisoning)

  • In order to study the change of laboratory parameters of lead poisoning, 8 persona who had not been treated previously for lead poisoning (Group 1 and 6 persons who had been inadequately treated for few months for chronic lead poisoning at local clinic (Group 2) were examined. They had occupational exposure to lead for 3 to 18 years (mean, 7.6). In group 1 blood lead, urine lead, urine coproporphyrin and ${\delta}$-aminolevulinic acid levels before our treatment exceeded the critical levels of lead poisoning. In group 2 urine lead level exceeded but blood lead, urine coproporphyrin and ${\delta}$-aminolevulinic acid levels were within normal limits. All of them were treated with D-penicillamine for 4 months as inpatients at Industrial Accident Hospital. The dose of D-penicillamine was the same in all patients; 600 mg per day p.o. and the chelating agent was administer every other week. For laboratory analysis, 24 hour urine and 10 gm of whole blood were collected every 1 month on last day of non-administration period. The results were as follows: 1. It was found that urine lead level was decreased below the cirtical level of lead poisoning after 4 month's treatment with D-penicillamine and blood lead level was decreased more progressively below the critical level after 1 month treatment. 2. Urine coproporphyrin and ${\delta}$-aminolevulinic acid levels were decreased progressively to normal range after 1 month treatment. 3. Two months after treatment, blood lead, urine lead, urine coproporphyrin and ${\delta}$-aminolevulinic acid levels showed some increasing trends. 4. Urine lead level should be checked in a person who had been inadequately treated with chelating agents because blood lead, coproporphyrin and ${\delta}$-aminolevulinic acid might be in normal range.
