Fuzzy Modeling and Control of Wheeled Mobile Robot

  • In this paper, a new model, which is a Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy model, for mobile robot is presented. A controller, consisting of two loops the one of which is the inner state feedback loop designed for stability and the outer loop is a PI controller designed for tracking the reference input, is suggested. Because the robot dynamics is nonlinear, it requires the controller to be insensitive to the nonlinear term. To achieve this objective, the model is developed by well known T-S fuzzy model. The design algorithm of inner state-feedback loop is regional pole-placement. In this paper, regions, for which poles of the inner state feedback loop are lie in, are formulated by LMI's. By solving these LMI's, we can obtain the state feedback gains for T-S fuzzy system. And this paper shows that the PI controller is equivalent to the state feedback and the cost function for reference tracking is equivalent to the LQ(linear quadratic) cost. By using these properties, it is also shown in this paper that the PI controller can be obtained by solving the LQ problem.

PI-LEAD 알고리즘을 이용한 2축 안정화 짐벌 시스템 제어 (The Control for the 2-Axis Stabilized Gimbal using the PI-LEAD Algorithm)

  • 서보 시스템에서 마찰과 같은 비선형 요소는 측정이 어려우며, 또한 정확한 예측이 어려워 보상하기가 쉽지 않다. 특히, 2축 안정화 짐벌 시스템에서 마찰은 큰 오차를 발생시켜 최종적으로 제어 성능을 만족시키지 못한다. 이와 같은 문제점을 해결하기 위해 관측기 등을 적용한 마찰 보상 연구가 많이 진행되어 왔으나 특정 조건에서만 적용되어 군수 분야에서 정밀도를 요하는 2축 안정화 짐벌 시스템에 적용하는데 제한적이다. 본 논문에서는 가장 일반적이면서 강인성이 입증된 PID 알고리즘을 변형시킨 PI-LEAD 알고리즘을 사용하여 모델링 및 시뮬레이션을 통해 마찰 보상 효과를 입증하고, 실제 2축 안정화 짐벌 시스템에 적용하여 효과를 검증한다. 성능시험을 통해 PI-LEAD 알고리즘이 마찰에 의한 오차를 최소화하여 정밀 서보 시스템에서 요구하는 성능을 만족하는 것을 검증하였다.

풍력터빈 토크제어의 특성 고찰 (A Study on Properties of Torque Control for Wind Turbine)

  • The aerodynamic torque and power caused by the interaction between the wind and blade of wind turbine are highly nonlinear. For this reason, the overall dynamic behaviors of wind turbine have nonlinear characteristics. The aerodynamic nonlinearity also affects properties of torque control for wind turbine. In this paper, the nonlinear aerodynamic property according to the wind speed below rated power and its effects on the torque control system are investigated. Nonlinear parameter representing change of aerodynamic torque with respect to rotor speed is obtained by linearization technique. Effects of this aerodynamic nonlinear parameter on the closed-loop torque system with PI controller for an 1.5 MW wind turbine are presented.

SMC와 비선형관측기를 이용한 동적마찰에 대한 정밀추종제어 (Precise Control of Dynamic Friction Using SMC and Nonlinear Observer)

  • A precise tracking control scheme on the system in presence of nonlinear dynamic friction is proposed. In this control scheme, the standard SMC is combined with the nonlinear observer to estimate the dynamic friction state that is impossible to measure. Then this control scheme has the good tracking performance and the robustness to parameter variation compared with the standard SMC and the PiD based nonlinear observer control system. This fact is proved by the experiment on the ball-screw driven servo system with the dynamic friction model.

관측기관을 이용한 유도전동기의 센서리스 속도제어 (Sensorless Speed Control of Induction Motor Using Observation Technique)

  • Sensorless speed estimation in induction motor systems is one of the most control engineers. Based on the estimated speed the vector control has been applied to the high precision torque control however most speed estimation methods use adaptive scheme so that it takes long time to estimate the speed. Thus the adaptive estimation scheme is not effective to the induction motor which requires short sampling time. In this paper a new linearized equation of induction motor system is proposed and a sensorless speed estimation algorithm based on observation techniques is developed. First the nonlinear induction motor equation is linearized at an equilibrium point. Second a proportional integral(PI) observer is applied to estimate the speed state in the induction motor system. Finally simulation results will assure the effectiveness of the new linearized equation and the sensorless estimation algorithm by using PI observer in the nonlinear induction motor system.

  • DC 모터는 브러시 구조가 있는 DC 모터와 브러시 구조가 없는 BLDC(Brushless DC) 모터로 분류된다. BLDC 모터는 DC 모터의 브러시가 없이 정류를 전자적으로 수행하는 모터로 BLDC 모터의 속도제어를 대표하는 것은 PI 제어이다. PI 제어기를 이용한 속도제어는 정상상태에 도달하는 응답 특성이 느리다는 단점을 가지고 있다. 이를 보완하기 위해 정상 상태까지 도달하는 시간이 짧고 비선형 제어에도 쉽게 제어가 가능한 FLC(Fuzzy Logic Controller)를 이용해 전압을 가감하는 방식의 전압 제어 속도 제어기 제안하였다. 제시한 퍼지 속도 제어기의 타당성과 유용성은 MATLAB 프로그램의 Simulink를 통해 모의실험으로 입증하였다. 모의실험은 기준 속도를 500rpm, 800rpm, 1500rpm의 3가지 경우로 각각 PI 제어기와 제안한 퍼지 속도 제어기를 실험하였다. 실험 결과 제안한 퍼지 속도 제어기가 30% 정도 개선된 정상 상태 속도 응답 특성을 보이며 PI 제어기에 비해서 빠른 속도 응답 특성을 갖고 있음을 입증하였다.

대부하 표적지향 시스템의 정밀 제어 기법 연구 (A Study on Precision Control of a Heavy Load Pointing System)

  • In this study, the performance of a heavy load pointing system has been investigated. The PI controller are being widely used in industrial application because of simple, cheap, and excellent performance. However, the requirement for control precision becomes higher and higher, as well as the plants becomes more and more complex. In order to achieve the satisfied control performance, we have to consider the affection of nonlinear factor contained in plant. In this paper, the neural-PI control law have been evaluated. The proposed controller is compared with the existing controllers through simulations, and the results show that the pointing accuracy of the proposed control system is improved against the disturbance induced by vehicle running on the bump course.

Recursive Design of Nonlinear Disturbance Attenuation Control for STATCOM

  • In this paper, a nonlinear robust control approach is applied to design a controller for the Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM). A robust control dynamic model of STATCOM in a one-machine, infinite-bus system is established with consideration of the torque disturbance acting on the rotating shaft of the generator set and the disturbance to the output voltage of STATCOM. A novel recursive approach is utilized to construct the energy storage function of the system such that the solution to the disturbance attenuation control problem is acquired, which avoids the difficulty involved in solving the Hamilton-Jacobi-Issacs (HJI) inequality. Sequentially, the nonlinear disturbance attenuation control strategy of STATCOM is obtained. Simulation results demonstrate that STATCOM with the proposed controller can more effectively improve the voltage stability, damp the oscillation, and enhance the transient stability of power systems compared to the conventional PI+PSS controller.

  • This paper presents a combined lookup table technique and PI-type controller. The purpose of the designed controller is applied to control the nonlinear system as thermal process. The proposed controller is easy and convenient to design based on a commercial controller. The performances of the proposed controller were studied using the thermal plant model under temperature control. The experimental results included demonstrate the good performance of the proposed controller.

퍼지 PI제어기를 이용한 중속 디젤 기관의 속도제어에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Speed Control of Medium Diesel Engine using a Fuzzy-PI Controller)

  • The speed control system of diesel engine is considerably nonlinear. Therefore, a countermeasure such as gain scheduling used to be incorporated to compensate this nonlinearity. On the other hand, it is said that fuzzy control is very robust against nonlinearity. But it is difficult to get a satisfactory response with only fuzzy control in real system. In this paper authors design a fuzzy-PI controller for the speed control of Medium diesel engine and carry out experiments with dedicate system implemented by Intel 80916KC to real diesel engine, Deawoo MAN 6Cyl., 1800rpm driving 3$\psi$220V, 150KW generator. We confirm the effectiveness of proposed control system.
