  • Many indoor location tracking technologies have been proposed. Generally indoor location tracking using TOA signal is used, there is a weak point that it's difficult to track the location due to obstacles like a refraction, reflection and dispersion of radio wave. In this paper, we apply ETOA(Estimated-TOA) algorithm in NLOS(Non-Line-Of-Sight) environment to solve above problem. In NLOS environment, TOA value between Beacon and Mobile node is predicted by ETOA algorithm and the tracking of indoor location is also possible to identify using two NLOS beacons of three beacons by this algorithm. We show that the proposed algorithm is accurate location tracking is accomplished using the applying the proposed algorithm to indoor moving robot and the inertia sensor of robot and Kalman filter algorithm.

  • In this paper, we propose the algorithm which considers applying recently proposed clock synchronization techniques with quite high accuracy in a few wireless sensor networks researches to time synchronization algorithm for multi-static radar system and especially overcomes the limitation of previous theory, cannot be applied between nodes in non-line of sight (NLOS). Proposed scheme estimates clock skew and clock offset using recursive robust least M-estimator with information of time stamp observations. And we improve the performance of algorithm by tracking and suppressing the time delays difference caused by NLOS system. Futhermore, this paper derive the mean square error (MSE) to present the performance of the proposed estimator and comparative analysis with previous methods.

  • With the development of ICT(Information and Communication Technology), the number of smart devices is rapidly increasing. LBS(Location Based Service) applications that provide user's location based service are used in various fields. There is also a growing demand for indoor precision positioning technology to provide seamless services. In this paper, we propose an indoor positioning system that estimates the location of a smartphone user. The proposed algorithm determines whether the received signal is LOS(Line-of-Sight) or NLOS(Non-Line of-Sight) in order to decrease multipath effect by the indoor environment. The proposed positioning algorithm is very simple and requires only the AP(Access Point) coordinates. In addition, it requires only two APs for estimating the location of a smartphone user. The proposed algorithm is a practically applicable technology without any additional hardware and kernel modification in the smartphone. In the experiment results, the reliability of the positioning system was found to be within 0.83 m.

  • The basic building block of solar filaments/prominences is thin threads of cool plasma. We have studied the spectral properties of velocity threads, clusters of thinner density threads moving together, by analyzing a sequence of $H{\alpha}$ images of a quiescent filament. The images were taken at Big Bear Solar Observatory with the Lyot filter being successively tuned to wavelengths of -0.6, -0.3, 0.0, +0.3, and +0.6 ${\AA}$ from the centerline. The spectra of contrast constructed from the image data at each spatial point were analyzed using cloud models with a single velocity component, or three velocity components. As a result, we have identified a couple of velocity threads that are characterized by a narrow Doppler width($\Delta\lambda_D=0.27{\AA}$), a moderate value of optical thickness at the $H{\alpha}$ absorption peak($\tau_0=0.3$), and a spatial width(FWHM) of about 1". It has also been inferred that there exist 4-6 velocity threads along the line of sight at each spatial resolution element inside the filament. In about half of the threads, matter moves fast with a line-of-sight speed of $15{\pm}3km\;s^{-1}$, but in the other half it is either at rest or slowly moving with a line-of-sight velocity of $0{\pm}3km\;s^{-1}$. It is found that a statistical balance approximately holds between the numbers of blue-shifted threads and red-shifted threads, and any imbalance between the two numbers is responsible for the non-zero line-of-sight velocity determined using a single-component model fit. Our results support the existence not only of high speed counter-streaming flows, but also of a significant amount of cool matter either being at rest or moving slowly inside the filament.

  • In the past, it. was very difficult to distinguish thermal and non-thermal emission. Broadbent et a1. (1989) has developed a new technique with the help of the IRAS 60 micron emission. The distribution of non-thermal or synchrotron emission in the Galactic disk has been modeled from the 408 MHz all sky survey of Haslam et a1. (1982) after removal of the thermal component.. At. 408 MHz, t.here is very little absorption in the interstellar medium and the distribution along the line-of-sight. is inferred mainly from its presumed relationship to other tracers of spiral structure via a. number of fitted parameters. But. at lower frequencies, free-free absorption becomes important and can give some direct. information on the line of sight. distribution. We have modeled the thermal electron density according to the spiral arm models and the distribution of ionized hydrogen in the Galactic plane by Lockman (1976) and Cersosimo et. al. (1989) and have made predictions to compare with the surveys of Dwarakanath et al. (1990) at. 34.5 MHz and .Jones and Finlay (1974) at 29.9 MHz. The result confirms that the absorption model of the synchrotron emissivity in the Galactic plane is broadly corrected and illustrates the potential of the absorption technique.

  • The radio propagation characteristics of the 6, 10, and 17 GHz frequency bands in multiple paths in an indoor lobby environment were analyzed. The line-of-sight (LOS) and non-LOS (NLOS) paths were measured from a distance of 2-16 m (0.5 m intervals) from the transmitting to the receiving antenna positions. For basic transmission losses, three parameters were compared using the floating intercept path loss model corresponding to the path. For a root mean square delay spread, the measurement results were compared for cumulative probabilities of 10, 50, and 90%. Propagation loss and propagation delay occurred in all measured frequencies owing to the existence of pillars and an unusual lobby structure. Thus, a measurement scenario for an indoor lobby environment and the provision of standard measurement data was proposed. The results may facilitate research on the radio propagation characteristics of 5G and millimeter-wave bands in indoor lobby environments with various structures.

  • In this paper, we propose a guidance law to control Impact Angle in consideration of look angle limit of the missile with strapdown seeker on the non-maneuvering target. The proposed law is based on sliding mode algorithm and generates acceleration commands using look angle and line of sight information provided by the strapdown seeker and navigation system. And, target velocity and target path angle are provided by like TADS (Target Acquisition and Designation System) at launch time. We can confirm that the target interception and impact angle control are possible through the convergence of the proposed sliding surface. In addition, it is possible to confirm that the sign of derivative result of the look angle at the maximum and minimum look angle is opposite to the sign of the look angle, so the look angle limit is not exceeded.

  • A prediction model is proposed to describe the path loss in propagation environment of indoor microcell. This model includes the lineal corridor for line--of-sight(LOS) and T-shaped corridor for non-line-of-sight(NLOS). In computation of receiving power the ray tracing technique based on image method is utilized and also reflected waves bounced on the walls and ceilings are considered. To check validity of the computed resuls cross checks between the predicted and measured are being made, which shows a close agreement for LOS case whereas somewhat disagreement for NLOS case. UTD technique is incorporated with propagation path determination algorithm in the treatment of NLOS case.

  • In this paper, we have analyzed the effect of interference between ultra-wideband(UWB) and intelligent transport systems(ITS). The maximum possible UWB emission power and minimum possible distance between UWB devices and ITS are found. In order to analyze the interference, we employ the Monte-Carlo(MC) method. We consider six situations, which are indoor office line-of-sight(LOS), indoor office non-line-of-sight(NLOS), indoor residential LOS, indoor residential NLOS, outdoor rural LOS, and outdoor rural NLOS environments. From the simulation results, it is confirmed that coexistence between UWB and ITS devices can be realized in accordance with the emission mask of 19.3 dB for indoor application or 19.3 dB for an image system. And in the outdoors, coexistence between UWB and ITS devices can be realized if the emission mask is at least 1.6 dB for vehicles' radar systems.

  • Ion implantation is a well established superior superior surface modification technique for the improvement of wear resistance, hardenece, hardness, corrosion resistance, biocompaibity, surface friction, as well as for the modification of surface electric conductance. Conventional ion implantaion is a line-of-sight process witch ues the ion beam accelerator techniques. Plasma sheath ion implantation (PSII), as a new technique, is described in this paper. In PSII high voltage pulse is applied to a target material placed directly in a plasma, forming a think ion-matrix sheath around the target. Ions accelerate through the sheath drop and bombard the traget from all sides simultaneosuslyregardless of the target shape. This paper describes the principle of PSII, which has non-line-of sight characteristics, as well as the experimental appratus.
