The challenge of penetrating obstacles along with impact from weak multipath effects makes 60GHz signal very difficult to be transmitted in non-line of sight (NLOS) channel. So 60GHz system is vulnerable to obstructions and thus likely results in link interruption. While the application of cooperative technology to solve link blockage problemin 60GHz system should consider the characteristic of directional transmission for 60GHz signal. Therefore in this paper a system is proposed to solve the link blockage problem in 60GHz NLOS communication environment based on the concept of cooperation and also the beamforming technology, which is the basis of directional transmission for 60GHz communication system. The process of anti-blockage solution with cooperative communication is presented in detail, and the fast switching and recovery schemes are well designed. The theoretical values of symbol error rate (SER) using decode and forward (DF) cooperation and amplify and forward (AF) cooperation are presented respectively when the common channel interference exists. Simulation results demonstrate that the performance based on DF cooperation is better than the performance based on AF cooperation when directional transmission is used.
It is very common to find an empirical formulation in an earthquake design code to calculate fundamental vibration period of a structural system. Fundamental vibration period or frequency is a key parameter to provide adequate information pertinent to dynamic characteristics and performance assessment of a structure. This parameter enables to assess seismic demand of a structure. It is possible to find an empirical formulation related to reinforced concrete structures, masonry towers and slender masonry structures. Calculated natural vibration frequencies suggested by empirical formulation in the literatures has not suits in a high accuracy to the case of rest of the historical masonry bridges due to different construction techniques and wide variety of material properties. For the listed reasons, estimation of fundamental frequency gets harder. This paper aims to present an empirical formulation through Mean Square Error study to find ambient vibration frequency of historical masonry bridges by using a non-linear regression model. For this purpose, a series of data collected from literature especially focused on the finite element models of historical masonry bridges modelled in a full scale to get first global natural frequency, unit weight and elasticity modulus of used dominant material based on homogenization approach, length, height and width of the masonry bridge and main span length were considered to predict natural vibration frequency. An empirical formulation is proposed with 81% accuracy. Also, this study draw attention that this accuracy decreases to 35%, if the modulus of elasticity and unit weight are ignored.

This paper presents the principle and experimental results of a non-contact surface roughness measurement by means of screen projected pattern of lase beam reflected from a polished surface. In the reflected laser beam pattern especially from a fine surface like ground or polished one, light intensity varies from the center fo the image to its boundary as the Gaussian distribution. The standard deviation of a light intensity distribution is assumed to be a good non-contact estimator for measuring the surface roughnes, because the light reflectivity is known to be well related with the surface roughness. This method doesn't need to discriminate between the specularly reflected light and the diffusely reflected one, whereas the scattered laser intensity method must do. Nor it needs to adjust the change of light intensity caused by environmental lights or specimen materials. Reflected laser beam pattern narrowly spreads out in the vertical direction to tiny scratches on the polished surface due to abrasives. The deeper the scratch the more the dispersion, which means the rougher surface. The standard deviation of the pattern is nearly in proportion to the surface roughness. Measurement errors by this method are shown to be below 10 percent compared with those obtained by a common contact method. The inclination of measuring unit from the normal axis causes the measurement errors up to 10 percent for an angle of 4 degree. Therefore the proposed method can be used as an on-the-machine quick roughness estimator within 10 percent measurement error.

The rapid development of process technology and the introduction of new materials not only make it difficult for process control but also as a result increase process variations. These process variations are barriers to successful implementation of design circuits because there are disparities between data on layout and that on wafer. This paper proposes a new design environment to determine the interconnect worstcase with accuracy and speed so that the interconnect effects due to process-induced variations can be applied to designs of $0.13{\mu}m$ and below. Common Geometry and Maximum Probability methods have been developed and integrated into the new worstcase optimization algorithm. The delay time of the 31-stage Ring Oscillator, manufactured in UMC $0.13{\mu}m$ Logic, was measured, and the results proved the accuracy of the algorithm. When the algorithm was used to optimize worstcase determination, the relative error was less than 1.00%, two times more accurate than the conventional methods. Furthermore, the new worstcase design environment improved optimization speed by 32.01% compared to that of conventional worstcase optimizers. Moreover, the new worstcitse design environment accurately predicted the worstcase of non-normal distribution which conventional methods cannot do well.
The pull-out test is a common test for detemining the strength and deformation parameters between reinforcement and soil inl the design of reinforced earth structures. It is often assumed in the interpretation of the results from the test that the mobilization of shear strength along the reinforcement is uniform. The progressive shearing at the soil-reinforcement interface during the pull-out test often leads to incorrect calculation of the shear displacement response between the reinforcement and the soil. To investigate the effect of progressive shearing during the calculation of the shear stiffness of the soil-reinforcement interface, the finite element method is used to simulate the pullout test. The reinforcement, soil and interface behaviors are modeled by rosing linear and non-linear constitutive models. Shear stiffnesses are calculated by uaiHg conventional methods. It is found that there are considerable discrepancies 13etween the calculated shear stiffnesses and the correct stiffnesses which are used in the finite element analysis. The amount of error depends on the relative stiffness between reinforcement and soil and the size of the specimen being analyzed. The finite element results are also compared with the observed response from laboratory experiments. A revised interpretation of the pull-out test results is discussed.
Objectives : Bloodletting therapeutics is one of the most popular oriental treatments in Korea. In this study, we operate the Telephone Survey for grasping clinical actual state bloodletting therapeutics in Korea. Methods : The list of the Korean medical doctors with experiences more than 10 years is provided by the Association of the Korean Oriental Medicine. A stratified random sample of Korean medical doctors is drawn for the telephone interviews. We choose a bound on the error of estimation equal to 3.2 percentage, and the sample size is 321 for the national sample. We develop a questionnaire for telephone interviews. We carefully design the questionnaire to minimize non-sampling errors by using the focus group activities and the pretest. We give the details of the results based on the sample design. Also, we present some socialdemograhpic characteristics for the samples. Telephone interviews with them were conducted by the well-trained interviewers of College of Korean Medicine student from 11th May 2006 to 17th May 2006. Results : 1. Two hundred eighty eight(89.4%) out of 322 Korean oriental medical doctors used bloodletting therapeutics. 2. The most common main bloodletting treatment is reported by patients was musculo-skeletal disorder(60.2%). 3. Two hundred ninety one(90.3%) out of 322 Korean oriental medical doctors opposed that commercial using bloodletting without medical diagnosis. Conclusion : Bloodletting therapeutics is one of the most popular oriental treatments in Korea. The majority(89.4%) of Korean medical doctors used bloodletting therapeutics in this survey.
This paper presents a new approach to investigate spatial correlation between independent components of brain alpha activity in functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) and electroencephalography (EEG). To avoid potential problems of simultaneous fMRI and EEG acquisitions in imaging pure alpha activity, data from each modality were acquired separately under a 'three conditions' setup where one of the conditions involved closing eyes and relaxing, thus making it conducive to generation of alpha activity. The other two conditions -- eyes open in a lighted room or engaged in a mental arithmetic task, were designed to attenuate alpha activity. Using a Mixture Density Independent Component Analysis (MD-ICA) that incorporates flexible non-linearity functions into the conventional ICA framework, we could identify the spatiotemporal components of fMRI activations and EEG activities associated with the alpha rhythm. Then, the sources of the individual EEG alpha activity component were localized by a Maximum Entropy (ME) method that is specially designed to find the most probable dipole distribution minimizing the localization error in sense of LMSE. The resulting active dipoles were spatially transformed to 3D MRls of the subject and compared to fMRI alpha activity maps. A good spatial correlation was found in the spatial distribution of alpha sources derived independently from fMRI and EEG, suggesting the proposed method can localize the cortical areas responsible for generating alpha activity successfully in either fMRI or EEG. Finally a functional connectivity analysis was applied to show that alpha activity sources of both modalities were also functionally connected to each other, implying that they are involved in performing a common function: 'the generation of alpha rhythms'.

Background: The aim of our study was to evaluate the "diagnosis changed" rate in patients notified as tuberculosis (TB) on the Korean TB surveillance system (KTBS). Methods: A total of 1,273 patients notified as TB cases on the KTBS in one private tertiary hospital in 2011 were enrolled in the present study. Patients were classified into three groups: "diagnosis maintained", "diagnosis changed" (initially notified as TB, but ultimately diagnosed as non-TB), and "administrative error" (notified as TB due to administrative errors). Results: Excluding 17 patients in the "administrative error" group, the "diagnosis maintained" and "diagnosis changed" groups included 1,097 (87.3%) and 159 patients (12.7%), respectively. Common causes of "diagnosis changed" were nontuberculous mycobacterial (NTM) disease (51.7%, 61/118), and pneumonia (17.8%) in cases notified as pulmonary TB, and meningitis (19.5%, 8/41) and Crohn's disease (12.2%) in cases notified as extrapulmonary TB. Being older than 35 years of age (odds ratio [OR], 2.18) and a positive acid-fast bacilli stain (OR, 1.58) were positive predictors and a TB-related radiological finding (OR, 0.42) was a negative predictor for a "diagnosis changed" result via multivariate logistic regression analysis in pulmonary TB cases. Conclusion: Because of a high "diagnosis changed" rate in TB notifications to the KTBS, the TB incidence rate measured by the KTBS may be overestimated. Considering the worldwide trend toward increased NTM disease, the "diagnosis changed" rate may increase over time. Thus, when reporting the annual TB notification rate in Korea, the exclusion of "diagnosis changed" cases is desirable.
Purpose: This study is intended to look into the difference in surgery effects through the analysis of risk factors on how the common adult diseases among Korean adults diseases (glaucoma, hypertension and diabetes) are affecting cataract. Methods: Cataract surgery patients' daily records at hospitals in Jeonnam were used as analysis data. Factors - which can affect the results of medical treatment before and after an operation - were classified into the input, process and outcome of medical treatment. The medical treatment and patient characteristics were reflected as the input of medical treatment, and clinical results, functional status and general status as the process of medical treatment. Results: There was a close relationship between adult diseases of glaucoma, diabetes and hypertension, and cataract. Visual acuity of adult diseases patients was 10% lower than of non-adult diseases patients. And for post-surgery it was around 16% difference in refractive error and visual acuity between two groups. Conclusions: According to a study result, the cataract has been confirmed that there is a close relationship of Adult disease patients's glaucoma, diabetes and hypertension. Depending on the type about these adult diseases, before and after cataract surgery, vision and refractive power was found to indicate a significant difference when compared with conventional low normal adult control.

In the case of apartment building, it is difficult to conduct non-destructive testing due to the actual presence of people and the dust and noise generated during the core test, so inspections are performed each time in the common area and underground parking lot, and the tests are conducted on the finishing material rather than on the concrete surface due to low-cost orders. As the process progresses, poor inspection is inevitable. In addition, the proposed formulas for strength estimation have large fluctuations depending on the differences in test conditions and environments, and even if they show the same measured value, the deviation between each proposed formula is large, making it difficult to accurately estimate strength, making it difficult to use. Accordingly, we would like to select finishing materials mainly used in apartment complexes and compare and evaluate the compressive strength of concrete according to the type of finishing material by using non-destructive testing methods directly on the finishing materials without removing the finishing materials. The reliability evaluation results of the estimated compressive strength of concrete using the ultrasonic velocity method according to the type of finishing material are as follows. The error rate between the estimated compressive strength and compressive strength derived through the ultrasonic velocity method shows a wide range of variation, ranging from 21.83% to 58.89%. The effect of the presence or absence of finishing materials on the estimated compressive strength was found to be insignificant. Accordingly, it is necessary to select more types of finishing materials and study ultrasonic velocity methods according to the presence or absence of finishing materials, and to study estimation techniques that can increase reliability.
