Effect of Abrasive Processing in the Milling Process on the Quality of Rice (정백공정 중 연삭공정이 쌀 품질에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effect of abrasive processing and non abrasive processing in the milling process on the quality of rice. The effect was analyzed based on the factor such as whiteness, grain temperature, moisture content, crack and broken rice ratio. The results were as followings. Whiteness of abrasive rice was the same as non abrasive rice. The rice temperature increase of abrasive rice was $1.6^{\circ}C$ lower than non abrasive rice. The crack ratio was increased in the process of milling and non abrasive rice showed higher values than abrasive rice. The broken rice ratio of the using abrasive processing was about 0.05% lower than that of non abrasive processing. The moisture content decreased in the process of milling regardless of the use abrasive rice milling machine.

  • The chemical mechanical polishing(CMP) is necessarily applied to manufacturing the dielectric layer and metal line in the semiconductor device. The conditioning of polishing pad in CMP process additionally operates for maintaining the removal rate, within wafer non-uniformity, and wafer to wafer non-uniformity. But the fixed abrasive pad(FAP) using the hydrophilic polymer with abrasive that has the swelling characteristic by water owns the self-conditioning advantage as compared with the general CMP. FAP also takes advantage of planarity, resulting from decreasing pattern selectivity and defects such as dishing due to the reduction of abrasive concentration. This paper introduces the manufacturing technique of FAP. And the tungsten CMP using FAP achieved the good conclusion in point of the removal rate, non-uniformity, surface roughness, material selectivity, micro-scratch free contemporary with the pad life-time.

  • A monitoring system for magnetic abrasive polishing process is necessary to ensure the polishing products the high quality and integrity. Acoustic emission (AE) signal is known to reflect the material removal phenomena in other machining processes. In a case of the magnetic abrasive polishing of non-magnetic materials, application of AE method is very difficult because of lower machining force on the surface of workpiece and the level of AE signal is extremely lower. In this study, AE sensor-based monitoring system is applied to the magnetic abrasive polishing. The relation between the level of the AE RMS and the surface roughness during the magnetic abrasive polishing of magnesium alloy steel is investigated.

  • The magnetic polishing is the useful method to finish some machinery fabrications by using magnetic power This method is one of the precision techniques and has an aim for clean technology in the transportation of the pure gas in the clean pipes. The magnetic abrasive polishing method is not so common in the field of machine that it is not known to widely. There are rarely researcher in this feilld because of non-effectiveness of magnetic abrasive. Therefore, in this paper we deals with the development of the magnetic abrasive with the fse of Sr-Ferrite. In this development, abrasive grain A has been made by using the resin bond fabricated at low temperature. And magnetic abrasive powder was fabricated from the Sr-Ferrite which was crushed into 200 mesh. The XRD analysis result shows that only A abrasive and Sr-Ferrite crystal peaks were detected, explaining that resin bond was not any more to contribute chemical reaction. From SEM analysis, we found that A abrasive and Sr-Ferrite were strongly bonding with each other.

This method is one of precision polishing techniques and has an aim of the clean technology using for the pure of gas and inside of the clean pipe for transportation. The magnetic abrasive polishing method is not so common for machine that it is not spreaded widely. There are rarely researcher in this field because of non-effectiveness of magnetic abrasive. Therefore, in this paper deals with development of the magnetic abrasive using worthless mineral. In this development, abrasive grain WA and GC used to resin bond fabricated low temperature. And magnetic material was fabricated from the worthless mineral which were closed into 200 mesh grit type. The XRD analysis result show that only WA and GC abrasive and worthless mineral crystal peaks detected which explains resin bond was not any more chemical reaction. From SEM analysis it is found that WA and GC abrasive and worthless mineral were strong bonding with each other by bond.

  • The surface status of a workpiece determines its functionality, product quality, and manufacturing costs. Thus, several finishing technologies have been widely investigated and applied to improve surface characteristics. In this study, rotational electro-magnetic abrasive finishing (REMAF) was suggested as a non-contact finishing process to achieve high geometric precision. To verify the effects of the REMAF process on burr removal on the surface of Al6061, experiments were conducted using the Taguchi method. Based on the experimental results analyzed by the S/N ratio and ANOVA, the optimal conditions were defined as A3B2C3D3 that corresponded to 1,800 rpm of rotational speed, 1.5 kg of abrasive particle weight, 0.7 mm of abrasive diameter, and 15 min of working time. In addition, the particle weight was a key attribute for deburring, whereas the working time was less effective.

The XRD analysis result shows that only SiC abrasive and Sr-Ferrite crystal peaks were detected, explaining that resin bond was not any more to contribute chemical reaction. From MACRO analysis, we found that SiC abrasive and Sr-Ferrite were strongly bonding with each other.

  • The magnetic abrasive polishing (MAP) process is used to achieve the nano-meter grade polishing results on flat or complicated surface. In previous study, polishing the stainless steel plate which is a non-magneto-material was tried. To polish non-magneto-materials using the MAP process was very difficult because the process was fundamentally possible by the help of a magnetic force. Therefore, it had lower efficiency than magneto-materials such as SM45C. In this study, optimization for tool geometry of the MAP was performed to improve the magnetic force between tool and workpiece. Moreover, a permanent magnet was installed below the non-magneto-material to improve the magnetic force. And then the design of experiments was carried out to evaluate the effect of the MAP parameters on the polishing results.
