비전공자를 위한 SW기초교육 콘텐츠 분석 (Analysis of SW basic education contents for non-majors)

  • 본 논문에서는 비전공자 대상의 학습자 눈높이에서 흥미와 재미를 유발하고, 실제 비전공자의 컴퓨팅사고력(Computational Thinking)을 향상시키는데 콘텐츠에 따라 학생의 관심도가 달라질 수 있다는 분석결과를 보여준다. 기존의 SW교육 시스템(EPL: Education Programming Language)의 단점인 실행 중심의 SW교육 시스템에서 벗어나 실제 생활에서의 기초적인 컴퓨팅 사고 관련 예제로서 모델별 단계적 접근을 시도하면서, 실제 생활 속 컴퓨팅 사고력 기반의 문제해결력을 높일 수 있도록 피드백 방식이 비전공자 SW교육에 끼치는 영향력을 확인하였다.

실용음악전공학생과 일반남학생의 흡연여부에 따른 호흡과 발성 특성 비교 (Characteristics of respiration and phonation depending on smoking or non smoking by practical musicology students and general male students)

  • This research compared the features of respiration and phonation between practical musicology students and general male students, according to their smoking status. Participants of this research are 15 practical musicology male students attending ${\bigcirc}{\bigcirc}$ university and 16 general ${\bigcirc}{\bigcirc}{\bigcirc}$ university students. The participants, both non-smokers and smokers with 5-years of smoking history have no history of voice disease in any case and have normal cognitive functions. The results indicated that, first, there is not a notable difference in the respiratory activity status(FVC, FEV1, FEV1/FVC), regardless of major and smoking status. In MPT, even though there is no significant difference in accordance with their majors, considering smoking status, the smoker group was shorter than non-smoker group significant difference statistically (p<.01). Second, the divisions of participants' major did not show significant difference in Fo, jitter, shimmer, and NHR in the vowel prolongation task. However, the smoker group showed a significantly higher degree of jitter and shimmer than the non-smoker group (p<.05) as Fo and NHR shows no difference. In the case of VRP, maximum frequency and frequency range of the practical group are significantly higher than normal group statistically (p<.001). Moreover, although the difference of the minimum frequency shown at the statistic is not significant, practical group showed a higher tendency of frequency than normal group (p=.051). In conclusion, even though there is no difference in respiratory activity between the smoker group and non-smoker group, the MPT of the smoker group is shorter than that of non-smoker group. In addition, the smoker group showed a higher degree of jitter and shimmer than the non-smoker group. MPT is related to the valve action of vocal fold that passes through the glottis. Thus, it is interpreted that the smoker group has a lower quality of voice and valve action of the vocal fold. Also, the practical group has a higher degree of maximum frequency and frequency range than the normal group. This research can function as basic data for vocal characteristics for the majors in relation to the voice-specializing.

공학계열 남녀 졸업생의 조사를 통해 본 교과과정 내의 활동의 취업 기여 (Contribution of Curricula and Extra-Curricular Activities on Successful Employment Derived from an Engineering Graduates Survey)

  • This study investigated various attributes that contributed to successful employment in order to develop employment support programs, especially for female engineering students. We surveyed engineering students who graduated between 2006 and 2011. The 401 employed graduates participated in an online survey. The surveys inquired about their attachment towards their major, participation in various academic and non-academic activities, and their participation's contribution to their successful employment. In regards to their majors, women, in general, had lower levels of satisfaction, confidence, attachment, and motivation to succeed in their fields when compared to their male counterparts. These results show that engineering colleges still need to work on empowering female engineering students to gain confidence in their engineering major and attachment. The graduate school experience was highly rated by both men and women, whereas double majors exhibited somewhat lower scores. Among academic activities, part-time work experience and major-related internships were rated as the most helpful, and among extracurricular activities, study-abroad for language training and participation in student council or clubs received high scores. There was little difference between men and women in study-abroad participation, and women participated more actively in student councils. However, women had much less major-related work experience, reaffirming that colleges need to expand internship and field experience programs for female students.

공과대학 신입생의 사고양식을 고려한 글쓰기 능력 탐색 (Exploration on Writing Ability Considering Thinking Styles in Engineering Freshmen)

  • This research aims to explore the relationships between academic writing ability and 'thinking styles' (capable of representing individual differences and diversity) in engineering freshmen in Korea, and to draw educational implications for the development of instructional strategies. (Academic) Writing is not just about conveying an idea or content, it is also about the representation of writer's self. In this perspective, there has been some research conducted on writing (process) and personality. However, to date, little attention has been paid to writing ability of engineering students and its relationships with thinking styles. This study was conducted with 127 engineering freshmen as well as 67 non-engineering freshmen at H University, and students' writing ability as well as their thinking styles have been measured before and after writing class for 15 weeks. Our findings show that firstly, there was a significant difference of writing ability by majors. Second, there were significant differences in freshmen's thinking styles by majors. Third, there was significant differences of writing ability according to thinking styles. Freshmen's internal, legislative and hierarchical styles scored significantly higher in writing ability than the others. And as for the engineering freshmen, internal, external and global styles scored significantly higher in writing ability than the others. Finally, there was a weak but significant relationship between writing ability and thinking styles(hierarchical & internal). These findings are expected to provide an explanation for the development of instructional strategies of writing (related) courses in engineering school.

교정환자의 교정치료 결정요인 (Decision factors of Orthodontic Treatment by orthodontic patients)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine decision factors to start orthodontic treatment with male and female undergraduates having experience in orthodontic treatment at a dental clinic or hospital because of malocclusion. Methods: A survey was carried out to investigate decision factors to begin orthodontic treatment with 330 male and female undergraduates attending universities located in Daegu Metropolitan City or Gyeongsangbuk-do who had experience in orthodontic treatment at a dental clinic or hospital because of malocclusion, and out of 330 questionnaire sheets, total 294 (89.1%) sheets were employed for analysis after excluding ones unreliably or erroneously answered. Results: According to the results of analyzing decision factors for orthodontic treatment, such factors as 'a dentistry-related person's suggestion', 'feeling necessity on one's own' are found to be significantly higher in students majoring in health units than those having non-dental health majors, and students residing in small and medium cities are influenced more significantly by this decision factor, 'an acquaintance's suggestion', than those living in farming and fishing villages or big cities, and students who started orthodontic treatment at elementary school were more significantly influenced by the factor, 'feeling necessity through the public media'. Conclusion: Among the factors influencing their decision on orthodontic treatment, no influence was found in sexual difference, and each of the decision factors influenced them considerably according to the difference of their residence, economic power, majors, or time to start orthodontic treatment.

SW교육에 대한 대학 비전공자의 인식과 경험 탐색: CQR을 중심으로 (Exploring perception and experience of non-majors about SW education using CQR)

  • 본 연구는 비전공자 대상의 대학 SW교육에서 학습자들의 인식과 경험을 탐색하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 D대학에서 SW교육에 참여하고 있는 비전공자 학생 36명의 성찰일지를 합의적 질적연구방법(CQR)에 의거하여 분석하였다. 분석결과, SW교육에 대한 비전공자 학생들의 인식과 경험에 대한 응답에서 연구에 참여한 모든 학생들에게 공통적으로 나타나는 일반적 범주나 50% 이상의 학습자에게 나타나는 전형적인 범주는 나타나지 않았다. 그러나 다양한 변동적인 범주를 핵심개념으로 도출할 수 있었다. SW교육에 대한 비전공자 학생들의 경험과 인식은 각각 57개와 7개의 변동적 개념이 도출되었다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 대학 비전공자 학생들의 SW교육에서의 경험은 생소함으로 인한 어려움을 느끼고 있다는 것과 학습활동을 통해 SW과의 관련성과 유용성을 인식한다는 특성을 발견할 수 있었다. 또한, SW교육에서 비전공자 학생들의 인식의 경우 초보자의 수준을 고려한 맞춤형 교육에 대해 긍정적인 평가를 한다는 특성을 가지고 있었다. 그러므로 비전공자 대상의 SW교육의 방법은 세심한 수업 운영전략과 상호작용 설계가 필요하다. 본 연구는 보다 효과적인 비전공자 대상의 대학 소프트웨어 교육을 위한 교수학습전략을 위한 시사점들을 제공하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

비전공자를 위한 알고리즘씽킹 기반 소프트웨어 기초교육 설계 (Design of Algorithm Thinking-Based Software Basic Education for Nonmajors)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to design the curriculum of Basic College Software Programming to develop creative and logical-thinking. This course is guided by algorithmic thinking and logical thinking that can be solved by computing for problem-solving, and it helps to develop by software through basic programming education. Through the stage of problem analysis, abstraction, algorithm, data structure, and algorithm implementation, the curriculum is designed to help learners experience algorithm problem-solving in various areas to develop diffusion thinking. For Learners aim to achieve the balanced development of divergent and convergent-thinking needed in their creative problem-solving skills. Research design, data and methodology: This study is to design a basic software education for improving algorithm-thinking for non-major. The curriculum designed in this paper is necessary to non-majors students who have completed the 'Creative Thinking and Coding Course' Design Thinking based are targeted. For this, contents were extracted through advanced research analysis at home and abroad, and experts in computer education, computer engineering, SW education, and education were surveyed in the form of quasi-openness. Results: In this study, based on ADD Thinking's algorithm thinking, we divided the unit college majors into five groups so that students of each major could accomplish the goal of "the ability to internalize their own ideas into computing," and extracted and designed different content areas, content elements and sub-components from each group. Through three expert surveys, we established a strategy for characterization by demand analysis and major/textbook category and verified the appropriateness of the design direction to ensure that the subjects and contents of the curriculum are appropriate for each family in order to improve algorithm-thinking. Conclusions: This study helps develop software by enhancing the ability of students who practice various subjects and exercises to explore creative expressions in various areas, such as 'how to think like a computer' that can implement and execute their ideas in computing. And it helps increase the ability to think logical and algorithmic computing based on creative solutions, improving problem-solving ability based on computing thinking and fundamental understanding of computer coding and development of logical thinking ability through programming.

비음악 전공자들의 음악치료 진로선택과정에 대한 연구 (Case Study on Career Decision Process of Music Therapy Graduate Students without Music Training)

  • 본 연구는 비음악 전공자들의 음악치료 진로선택과정 경험을 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 서울지역에 소재한 대학의 음악치료전공 대학원생 중 학부에서 음악을 전공하지 않은 학생 5명을 대상으로 심층면담 하여 근거이론 도출을 위한 예비연구를 수행하였다. 연구 결과, 비음악 전공자들의 음악치료 진로선택과정은 삶의 구체적 목표 설정에 대한 지속적인 동기와 취업이나 진학과 같은 현실적인 자극을 받아 사회인으로서의 역할 결정에 대한 갈등을 경험하는 것으로 유발되었다. 이는 자신을 둘러싼 현실적인 상황과 음악치료에 대한 구체적인 탐색을 야기하였고, 개인적 특성과 외부적 요인 그리고 음악적 배경이 상호작용 하였다. 그 경험은 자신의 본능과 잠재성에 깊이 관여하고 있는 '음악아(Music Child)'와의 관계 재설정을 통한 '자기(self)' 통합과 성장의 추구로 이어졌다. 또한 관계 속에서 의미 있는 존재가 되고자 하는 욕구가 진로선택 과정에서 자신의 포부를 구체화 할 수 있도록 지속적인 영향을 미쳤다. 이 연구는 비음악 전공자들이 음악치료학으로 진로를 선택하게 되는 과정을 분석함으로써 음악치료에 입문한 비음악 전공자들에 대한 실제적 정보를 제공했다는 점에서 그 의의가 있다.

  • 최근 컴퓨팅 사고력의 중요성이 높아짐에 따라 여러 학교에서 전교생을 대상으로 소프트웨어 교과목을 개설하여 운영하고 있다. 소프트웨어 교육은 코딩을 기반으로 다양한 문제를 창의적으로 해결하는 것을 목적으로 하나, 공학적 지식이 없거나 정보통신 분야에 흥미가 없는 비전공 학습자들에게는 학습 동기 유발이 어려운 실정이다. 학습 동기 유발은 학습자의 집중력과 학습의 능률을 향상시키는 중요한 역할을 한다. 본 논문에서는 비전공 학습자의 소프트웨어 교과목에 대한 학습 동기 유발 방법을 연구하고 그 결과를 설문을 통해 평가하였다.

색채자극 전과 후 달라진 색 사용에 관한 연구 (Differences on Use of Colors before and after Color Stimulations -Two different stimuli of images by design majors and non-design majors-)

  • 본 연구에서는 피험자의 경험에 의한 학습의 정도가 색사용에 어떠한 영향을 주고 있으며 그 요소는 무엇인지를 찾아보는 것에 있다. 본 실험에서는 서로 다른 두 유명작품을 자극으로서 사용하였으며, 피험자에게 자극의 전과 후, 같은 패턴에 색칠하기를 그려 받았다. 자극의 전후에 그려 받은 색칠하기에서 선택한 색과 색 양, 색 수, 색의 구성의 변화를 비교 분석함으로써 자극으로부터 받은 요인을 찾아보고자 한다. 본 연구는 경험의 정도가 다른 어른과 어린이의 색사용의 변화를 비교한 선행실험의 결과를 토대로 하였다. 본 실험에서는 전공에 의한 학습경험의 정도가 다른 디자인 전공자와 비 디자인전공자의 색사용의 변화를 비교해보였다. 결과로부터 디자인 전공자의 경우, 색의 자극이 다양했던 모네그림의 자극 후에는 색 수의 감소 현상이 나타났으며 자극의 그림에서 사용된 색의 선택이 높아지거나 색 양이 증가하는 경향이 보였다. 비 디자인전공자의 경우, 몬드리안그림의 자극 후 자극전의 색 수보다 감소하는 반대의 경향이 나타났으며, 디자인전공자와 비교하였을 때 선택한 색과 색 양의 변화는 있었지만 불규칙적인 경향을 나타내었다.
