  • According to the expanding of construction machinery works, the number of civil complaints demanding compensations are increasing continuously from surrounding residents due to the noise from construction fields. However, the noise is usually managed restrictedly during the construction phase rather than prevented in advance. So, the efforts to solve the noise problem are occurring only after complaints have been made. Also, excessive cost and time consuming in order to solve the complaints negatively affects to construction companies. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to develop an optimized scheduling process model for controlling the noise in construction field by considering the planned time, cost, and the number of equipment before construction. In addition, this process model is expected to provide a useful information about the cost comparison between the original planned cost plus compensation and the optimized cost considering noise limitation so that the site managers can manage their projects effectively.

  • In this paper, we propose the Noise Cancel DTW that to use a kind of feature compensation. This method is not to use estimated noise but we use real life environment noise data for Voice Recognition. And we applied this contaminated data for recognition reference model that suitable for noise environment. NCDTW is combined with surround noise when generating reference patten. We improved voice recognition rate at mobile environment to use NCDTW.

  • This paper proposes an GMM(Gaussian Mixture Model)-DNN(Deep Neural Network) hybrid-based feature compensation method for effective speech recognition in noisy environments. In the proposed algorithm, the posterior probability for the conventional GMM-based feature compensation method is calculated using DNN. The experimental results using the Aurora 2.0 framework and database demonstrate that the proposed GMM-DNN hybrid-based feature compensation method shows more effective in Known and Unknown noisy environments compared to the GMM-based method. In particular, the experiments of the Unknown environments show 9.13 % of relative improvement in the average of WER (Word Error Rate) and considerable improvements in lower SNR (Signal to Noise Ratio) conditions such as 0 and 5 dB SNR.

  • In this study, Real-time estimation and compensation procedure are developed for the laser interferometer. This system is designed with homodyne quadrature-phase detection method using the Laser interferometer. The errors in this system are due to noise, disturbance and undefined model dynamics. DSP(Digital Signal Processor) is applied for real time compensation of these errors. This estimator and compensation is verified with measurement test.

  • Speech recognition is one of the user interface technologies in commanding and controlling any terminal such as a TV, PC, cellular phone etc. in a ubiquitous environment. In controlling a terminal, the mismatch between training and testing causes rapid performance degradation. That is, the mismatch decreases not only the performance of the recognition system but also the reliability of that. Therefore, the performance degradation due to the mismatch caused by the change of the environment should be necessarily compensated. Whenever the environment changes, environment adaptation is performed using the user's speech and the background noise of the changed environment and the performance is increased by employing the models appropriately transformed to the changed environment. So far, the research on the environment compensation has been done actively. However, the compensation method for the effect of distant-talking speech has not been developed yet. Thus, in this paper we apply MLLR-based environment adaptation to compensate for the effect of distant-talking speech and the performance is improved.

  • We propose an inductive compensation method for a surface-mountable 10 Gbps photoreceiver module. Since many typical 10 Gbps photoreceiver modules consist of a photodetector and low-noise pre-amplifier, the impedance mismatch between the photodetector and pre-amplifier, as well as package parasitics, may reduce the frequency bandwidth. In this paper, we inserted an inductive component between the photodetector and pre-amplifier in order to create frequency bandwidth expansion. From the measurement results, we have found that the proposed technique can increase the -3 dB bandwidth about 4.2 GHz wider compared with an uncompensated module. And, from a bit-error rate (BER) test, we observed -15.7 dB sensitivity at $10^{-12}$ BER. This inductive compensation can be implemented easily and is compatible with common manufacturing processes of photoreceiver modules.

  • The phase currents must be accurately measured to achieve the instantaneous torque control of AC motors. In general, those are measured using the current sensors. However, the measured current signals can include the offset errors and scaling errors by several components such as current sensors, analog amplifiers, noise filter circuits, and analog-to-digital converters. Therefore, the torque-controlled performance can be deteriorated by the current measurement errors. In this paper we have analyzed the influence caused by vector control of 2-phase induction motor when two errors are included in measured phase currents. Based on analyzed results, the compensation method is proposed without additional hardware. The proposed compensation method was applied vector-controlled inverter for 2-phase induction motor of 360[W] class and verified through computer simulations and experiments.

  • Real-time implementations of the active adaptive noise controller are proposed and tested. There are three problems in active noise control such as real-time processing, an acoustic feedback of secondary signal and a time-delay of control system elements. For real-time processing, the DSP56001 was used. To avoid acoustic feedback, the secondary signal was excluded from prediction. And for compensation of time delay, the ahead prediction was applied. As the primary noise is reflected in space, the reflected noise should be controlled for perfect noise control. But in this case, the controller might be unstable. For solving the problem, it is proposed that the source noise and the reflected noise are predicted separately. Some experimental results show the stability and effectiveness of the proposed controller.

  • OFDM technique was adopted as the standard of IEEE 802.1 la and it has been widely used for wireless LAN, European DVB/DAB system, Korean DMB system. In the standard of IEEE 802.11a the data packet is composed of two parts, preamble and data. Preamble is composed of short pilots and long pilots, which are used for synchronization and estimation of frequency offset and channel. We can also compensate phase noise effect in the transceiver by using above pilots. The phase noise is more complicate than frequency offset and seriously affects system performance. In this paper, we newly propose CPE and ICI simultaneous compensation method to compensate phase noise generated by transceiver oscillator and compare with previous studies. As results, phase noise effect can be significantly compensated by CPE cancellation method, PNS algorithm and our proposed CPE and ICI compensation method. Especially, the proposed CPE and ICI compensation method can achieve the best BER performance compared with original OFDM, CPE cancellation method and PNS algorithm.

  • Linear motor stage is a useful device in precision engineering field because of its simple power transmission mechanism and accurate positioning. Even though linear motor stage shows fine positioning accuracy along travel axis, geometric dependent errors which relay on machining and assembling accuracy should be addressed to increase total positioning performances. In this paper, we suggests a cost effective yaw error compensation servo-system which is mounted on platform of the stage and nullify travel position dependent yaw error. This paper also provides a method of designing a sliding mode control which is robust to existing friction disturbance and model uncertainties. The reachability condition of slinding mode control for the yaw error compensating servo-system has been established. From some experimental results by using an experimental set-up, the sliding mode control showed its effective in disturbance rejection and its performance was superior to conventional linear controls.
