A Study for its Characteristics with Electric Variation in an Electrical Discharge Machining (방전가공에서 전기적 변화가 갖는 방전 특성에 관한 연구)

  • A study is a experiment which is figure out to optimum discharge cutting condition of the surface roughness, electronic discharging speed and electrode wear ration with Ton , Toff and V(voltage) as an input condition according to the current(Ip) in an electric spark machine : 1) Electrode is utilized Cu and Graphite. 2) Work piece is used the material of carbon steel. The condition of experiment is : 1) Current is varied 0.7(A) to 50(A) and the time of electric discharging to work piece in each time is 30(min) to 60(min). 2) After the upper side of work piece was measured in radius(5$\mu$m) of stylus analyzed the surface roughness to ade the table and graph of Rmax by yielding data. 3) Electro wear ratio is : \circled1Cooper was measured ex-machining and post-machining by the electronic balance. \circled2The ex-machining of graphite measured by it, the post-machining was found the data from volume $\times$specific gravity and analyzed to made its table and graph on ground the data. 4) In order to keep the accuracy of voltage affected to the work piece was equipped with the A.V. R and the memory scope was sticked to the electric spark machine. 5) In order to preserve the precision of current, to get rid of the noise occured by internal resistance of electric spark machine and to force injecting for the discharge fluid , it made the fixed table for a work piece to minimize the work error by means of one's failure during the electric discharging.

  • The demand for wire-cut EDM is increasing rapidly in the die and tool making industry. In this study machining characteristics such as machining rate, surface roughness, hand drum form and hardness of machined material are investigated experimentally under the conditions varing pulse on time, pulse off time, peak voltage, wire tension after fixing other conditions in SKD 11 and brass and brass workpiece. It was found that various operating conditions had significant influences on machining characteristics. But the hardness of workpiece was uneffected by operating conditions. Also it was obtained experimentally that brass workpeice had better machinability than SKD 11 one.dition according to the current(Ip) in an electric spark machine : 1) Electrode is utilized Cu and Graphite. 2) Work piece is used the material of carbon steel.   • A fitting process carried out in the automobile transmission assembly line is classified into three classes; heat fitting, press fitting, and their combined fitting. Heat fitting is a method that applies heat in the outer diameter of a gear to a suitable range under the tempering temperature and assembles the gear and the shaft made larger than the inner radius of the gear. Its stress depends on the yield strength of a gear. Press fitting is a method that generally squeezes gear toward that of a shaft at room temperature by a press. Another method heats warmly gear and safely squeezes it toward that of a shaft. A warm shrink fitting process for an automobile transmission part is now gradually increased, but the parts (shaft/gear) assembled by the process produced dimensional change in both outer diameter and profile of the gear so that it may cause noise and vibration between gears. In order to solve these problems, we need an analysis of a warm shrink fitting process in which design parameters such as contact pressure according to fitting interference between outer diameter of a shaft and inner diameter of a gear, fitting temperature, and profile tolerance of gear are involved. In this study, an closed form equation to predict the contact pressure and fitting load was proposed in order to develop an optimization technique of a warm shrink fitting process and verified its reliability through the experimental results measured in the field and FEM, thermal-structural coupled field analysis. Actual loads measured in the field have a good agreement with the results obtained from theoretical and finite element analysis and also the expanded amounts of the outer diameters of the gears have a good agreement with the results.

Improvement of Analytic Reconstruction Algorithms Using a Sinogram Interpolation Method for Sparse-angular Sampling with a Photon-counting Detector

  • Sparse angular sampling has been studied recently owing to its potential to decrease the radiation exposure from computed tomography (CT). In this study, we investigated the analytic reconstruction algorithm in sparse angular sampling using the sinogram interpolation method for improving image quality and computation speed. A prototype of the spectral CT system, which has a 64-pixel Cadmium Zinc Telluride (CZT)-based photon-counting detector, was used. The source-to-detector distance and the source-to-center of rotation distance were 1,200 and 1,015 mm, respectively. Two energy bins (23~33 keV and 34~44 keV) were set to obtain two reconstruction images. We used a PMMA phantom with height and radius of 50.0 mm and 17.5 mm, respectively. The phantom contained iodine, gadolinium, calcification, and lipid. The Feld-kamp-Davis-Kress (FDK) with the sinogram interpolation method and Maximum Likelihood Expectation Maximization (MLEM) algorithm were used to reconstruct the images. We evaluated the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of the materials. The SNRs of iodine, calcification, and liquid lipid were increased by 167.03%, 157.93%, and 41.77%, respectively, with the 23~33 keV energy bin using the sinogram interpolation method. The SNRs of iodine, calcification, and liquid state lipid were also increased by 107.01%, 13.58%, and 27.39%, respectively, with the 34~44 keV energy bin using the sinogram interpolation method. Although the FDK algorithm with the sinogram interpolation did not produce better results than the MLEM algorithm, it did result in comparable image quality to that of the MLEM algorithm. We believe that the sinogram interpolation method can be applied in various reconstruction studies using the analytic reconstruction algorithm. Therefore, the sinogram interpolation method can improve the image quality in sparse-angular sampling and be applied to CT applications.

  • Resolution 221 requests the ITU-R to conduct studies, as a matter of urgency, on the feasibility of utilizing HAPS system as a base station to provide IMT-2000 services. And HAPS base stations should not cause harmful interference to the cellular IMT-2000 services. To study on the interference between HAPS system and cellular system is divided into two cases. One is the interference into HAPS system from the cellular system and the other is the interference into the cellular system from HAPS system. Since the former case has been already studied[1]. this paper describes the interference the interference to the noise power ration(I/N) with various parameters, such as the transmitting power, the number of users per cell, maximum antenna gain and the multibeam cell radius of HAPS. With the proposed estimation, we can determine the optimum values of various parameters in HAPS IMT-2000 system.

Development and Application of BLE-Based Audible Pedestrian Signal (APS) for Intersection Safety Crossing of Blind People (시각장애인의 교차로 안전횡단 지원 BLE 기반 음향신호기 개발 및 현장 적용사례)

  • The audible pedestrian signal (APS) is an add-on device which connects to the pedestrian signaling device and informs the contents and changes of the signaling by sound. It provides walking direction information of the pedestrian crossing so that the blind people can safely cross the pedestrian crossing. In an intersection where a plurality of audible pedestrian signal (APS) are installed at an intersection crosswalk, existing audible pedestrian signal (APS) operate simultaneously in the communication radius of a wireless remote controller, which may cause confusion for the blind people and the public may complain about the noise. In this paper, we developed a BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy)-based audible pedestrian signal (APS) system capable of supporting two-way communications with a smart-phone that can cross the intersection safely and improve the walking comfort and traffic safety for the blind people. The proposed method is a method in which the BLE beacon communication based audible pedestrian signal (APS) presents active service to the blind people, and the existing audible pedestrian signal (APS) is a way of requesting the passive service by the blind people with the wireless remote control by the unidirectional communication based on 358Mhz. The developed system is installed in the crossroad of Doma-dong, Seo-gu, Daejeon, and it is tested and operated by the blind people. The satisfaction evaluation and analysis of the audible pedestrian signal (APS) for the blind people have good results and are planned to be expanded in the future.

  • This paper analyzes the output signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) for a multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) multicarrier code division multiple access (MC-CDMA) system with minium mean square error receivers in multi-cell environments. A previous work in single cell environments is extended into analysis in multi-cell environments. The use of Haar unitary code matrix for asymptotic analysis causes other cell interferences expressed with a diagonal matrix haying different diagonal values. This paper shows that other cell interferences converge to an identity matrix whose gain is expressed by only other cell interference power in mean square sense and finds asymptotic deterministic SINRs for a given other cell interference. Under the assumption that the sum of lognormal fading components is distributed by other lognormal function, we show the comparison between theoretical performances and simulations from the view point of bit error rate and present average throughput performance according to the cell radius.

Collaborative Beamforming for Ad Hoc Sensor Networks (분산된 Ad Hoc 센서 네트워크의 협력 빔포밍)

  • In this paper, we derive the average received beampattern at each receive node which is randomly distributed within a disk when considering a collaborative beanforming between transmission nodes which are randomly distributed within another disk for ad hoc sensor network. Numerical results show that the radius of disk at the transmitter determines the beamwidth of mainbeam, and the sidebeam is affected by the number of transmitter nodes. We also consider K receive groups and divide the transmit sensor modes into K groups to support each receive group using beamforming, and derive the SINR at each receive node. Finally, we investigate the effects of beampattern and interference on total sum capacity among all receive node, and numerically determine the number of transmit nodes for each group which can achieve the maximal sum capacity.

  • This paper related with the performance comparison of mSE-MMA and mDSE-MMA adaptive equalization algorithm which is possible to reduce the intersymbol interference that occurs in the nonlinear communication channel transmitting 16-QAM signal. This two algorithm is possible to reduce the computational load compared to the current MMA algorithm, it has the degraded equalization performance due to simplified arithmetic in order to applying the mobile communication terminal. In order to improve the performance degradation, they controls the step size according to the existence of arbitrary radius circle of equalizer output compared to transmitted symbol point. The variation of step size according to this principle is applied to the SE-MMA and DSE-MMA, namely mSE-MMA and mDSE-MMA algorithm, the algorithm's performance were compared in the same channel and noise environment by computer simulation. As a result of simulation, the mSE-MMA has more superior to the mDSE-MMA in residual value of every performance index and SER performance, and the vice versa result in convergence speed.
