자유분류와 충돌분류의 소음특성에 관한 실험적 비교 (Experimental comparison on the noise characteristics of free and impinging jets)

  • The objective of this study is to find experimentally the characteristics of the noise generated by the impinging jet on the normal plate, and also to compare the noise characteristics of the impinging jet with those of the free jet. The experiment is performed for the measurement of the noise specturm, the noise power, and the directivity for the free and impinging jets. From the experiment. it is found that the power of noises generated by the free jet as well as the impinging jet is proportional to the eighth power of the jet velocity through the circular converging nozzle, and that the noise power of the impinging jet is 15dB as high as one of the free jet when the plate distance is about within one to three times the nozzle diameter at the pressure ratio 1.39. The sound pressure level of the impinging jet depends upon the jet pressure and the plate distance. The plate distance with the maximum overall sound pressure level is increased with the jet pressure. The directivities with 1/3 octave band frequency for both the free jet and the impinging jet are greatly influenced by the convection effect.

FEASIBILITY STUDY OF SOUND POWER BASED ACTIVE NOISE CONTROL STRATEGIES FOR GLOBAL NOISE REDUCTION

  • The active noise control which regards the acoustic power as a target function to be minimized, is analyzed to test its feasibility of which simplifies the measurement system compared with the global acoustic energy based active noise control system. In fact, it is found that the acoustic power based active noise control strategy is equally likely as good as the global acoustic energy based active noise control method if the acoustic field of interest is diffusive or very low model density one. In the intermediate model density field, we also demonstrate that the power based control gives the similar results as the energy based control in terms of global sound energy reduction for the lightly damped enclosure which might be most important system in practical application. From all the theoretical and power based control strategy is dependent on the characteristics of the acoustic field to be controlled; i.e., the model density distribution, the degree of reverberation, and on the strength of modal interaction of the control source with the primary source; i.e., the location of control source.

  • ABR(auditory brainstem response) is one of the audiometry which measures objective hearing threshold level by acquiring electric evoked potentials emanated from auditory nerve system responding to an auditory stimulation. However, the obtained potentials which are largely interfered by power line noise, have extremely low SNR, thus ensemble average algorithm is generally used. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of iteration number in ensemble average on the reduction of the power line noise. The power line noise was modeled to be a 60 Hz sinusoidal signal and the energy of the modeled signal was calculated when it was averaged. It was verified by simulation that the energy had the periodic zero points for each stimulation rate, and 60 Hz signal induced by the power line was applied to the developed ABR system to confirm that the period of zero energy point was the same with that of the simulation. By the properly selected iteration number, power line noise could be reduced and more reliable ABR could be acquired.

  • Turbo-charger noise radiated from air intake part is one of the most important noise sources in diesel power plant. In this paper, intake noise control of the diesel power plant was studied using parallel baffle type silencer and concentric hole-cavity resonator simultaneously. Firstly, acoustical characteristics and attenuation performance for parallel baffle type silencer were investigated through theoretical approach and experimental method. Based on the results, optimal design of the parallel baffle silencer was suggested. Secondly, for reducing the low frequency noise contained in the intake noise, the concentric hole-type resonator was developed and the acoustic performance was verified from the test. By combining two types of silencers, it is expected that the overall insertion loss is about 50 dB. So, the combined silencer is very helpful in reducing the intake noise of diesel power plant.

  • 사무실에서 사용되는 소용량 무정전진원 장치(UPS : Uninterruptible Power Supply)는 대부분의 소음이 냉각팬을 통하여 발생되고 있는데, 이와 같이 장치의 여러 방향으로 방사되는 소음의 능동적 소음제어를 위해서는 FXLMS(Filtered-x LMS) 알고리즘에 기초를 둔 다중채널 방식의 FXLMS(multiple-channel FXLMS) 알고리즘의 사용이 적당하다. 본 논문에서는 사무실에서 주로 사용되는 소용량 UPS의 소음 발생 특성을 분석하고 다중채널 방식 MRMO(Multiple-Reference/Multiple-Output) FXLMS 알고리즘을 적용하여 방사상으로 전파되는 UPS의 소음을 저감시키기 위한 능동 소음 제어를 수행하고 이의 소음저감 특성을 고찰한다.

  • 최근 친 환경 발전에 관한 관심이 높아지면서 태양광, 풍력, 조력, 조류 발전에 대한 수요가 점차 증가되고 있다. 이러한 친 환경 발전 방식 중 조석운동에 의한 해수의 흐름을 이용하는 조류발전은 지형적 특성에 의해 강한 조류가 발생하는 지역에서만 사용할 수 있는 특수한 발전 방식이다. 울돌목 해역은 조류 발전이 가능한 매우 강한 조류가 형성되는 지역으로 다른 지역의 해역과 구분되는 특별한 환경을 제공한다. 하지만, 해양에서의 인간의 활동은 수중소음을 야기하여 해양환경에 큰 영향을 미친다. 최근에는 환경영향평가의 중요성이 대두되면서 발전소 가동 시의 소음 특성 분석 및 전파양상 예측에 대한 필요성이 증가하고 있다. 본 연구는 조류발전소의 수중소음 특성을 측정하고 울돌목 해역으로의 전파양상을 모델링 하였다.

Noise Suppression Using Normalized Time-Frequency Bin Average and Modified Gain Function for Speech Enhancement in Nonstationary Noisy Environments

  • A noise suppression algorithm is proposed for nonstationary noisy environments. The proposed algorithm is different from the conventional approaches such as the spectral subtraction algorithm and the minimum statistics noise estimation algorithm in that it classifies speech and noise signals in time-frequency bins. It calculates the ratio of the variance of the noisy power spectrum in time-frequency bins to its normalized time-frequency average. If the ratio is greater than an adaptive threshold, speech is considered to be present. Our adaptive algorithm tracks the threshold and controls the trade-off between residual noise and distortion. The estimated clean speech power spectrum is obtained by a modified gain function and the updated noisy power spectrum of the time-frequency bin. This new algorithm has the advantages of simplicity and light computational load for estimating the noise. This algorithm reduces the residual noise significantly, and is superior to the conventional methods.

  • In this study, we investigate active control of noise transmitted through a window of enclosures minimizing the acoustic power. To reduce noise of the enclosures, passive methods with absorbing material are generally used. The passive methods, however, are limited use due to the vantilation windows. In this case, these windows are path of noise leakage. Feedforward active noise control technology is applied to minimize the sound power from the enclosure. The feedforward controller is implemented with FIR filter based on the transfer functions calculated numerically. The controller reflects the delay due to FIR filter. The noise transmitted through the window is actively controlled, and the reduction of the power is obtained by 15dB.

다양한 매칭 회로들을 활용한 저잡음 증폭기 설계 연구 (Design of Low Noise Amplifier Utilizing Input and Inter Stage Matching Circuits)

  • In this paper, a low noise amplifier having high gain and low noise by using input and inter stage matching circuits has been designed. A current-reused two-stage common-source topology is adopted, which can obtain high gain and low power consumption. Deterioration of noise characteristics according to the source inductive degeneration matching is compensated by adopting additional matching circuits. Moreover trade-offs among noise, gain, linearity, impedance matching, and power dissipation have been considered. In this design, 0.18-mm CMOS process is employed for the simulation. The simulated results show that the designed low noise amplifier can provide high power gain and low noise characteristics.

차음구조물의 방사음향파워로부터 고체 및 공기전파음향파워의 정량적인 분리법 (A Quantitative Separation Method of Structure and Air Borne Sound Power from the Enclosure)

  • Engine enclosures are widely adopted to reduce the noise emission in various fields of application. The radiated noise, which is due to the vibration of enclosure's outer surface, is composed of two kinds of sound power with different path of propagation. One is the 'structure-borne sound power' which stems from the engine's vibratory force applied to the structure of enclosure through the mounting parts of engine etc., while the other is the 'air-borne sound power' which is originated by the sound power radiated from the engine surface to the inner space of enclosure that should excite the vibration of enclosure from inside. In order to get a most efficient engine enclosure is required a profound consideration upon the above structure-borne and air-borne noise, since the guiding principle of countermeasure for each noise is quite different. The controlling of input vibration and its isolation are major subject for the structure-borne sound power and the specifications of absorbing member and damping panels are the major interests for the air-borne sound power. Hence it seems very efficient to separate the total sound power into two categories with a great accuracy when one think of further reduction of engine noise from the exciting enclosure, however, its separating methods have not been made clear for many years. Then author proposes a new practical separation method of two propagation path's contribution to the total radiation sound power for the enclosure under the engine operating condition.
