압전션트 댐핑을 이용한 지능패널의 다중 모드 소음 저감 (Multi-mode Noise Reduction of Smart Panels Using Piezoelectric Shunt Damping)

  • This paper presents the multi-mode noise reduction of smart panels of which passive piezoelectric shunt damping is introduced. For the piezoelectric shunt damping, a passive shunt circuit composed of inductors and a load resistor is connected to the piezoelectric patch mounted on the panel structure. An electrical impedance model is introduced for the system based on the measured electrical impedance, and the criteria for maximum energy dissipation at the shunt circuit is used to find the optimal shunt parameters. For multi-mode shunt damping, the shunt circuit is modified by the introduction of a block circuit. Also the optimal location of the piezoelectric patch is studied by finite element analysis in order to cause the maximum admittance from the patch for each mode of the structure. An acoustic test is performed for the panels and a remarkable noise reduction is obtained in multiple modes of the panel structure.

  • A method for determining the geometric stability characteristics of a brake corner module (BCM) is presented. Since disc brake "squeal" noise typically occurs at unstable resonant frequencies of a system, the likelihood of disc brake squeal for a particular design can be determined. Finite element methods are used to derive complex eigenvalue for a brake corner module. Some unstable modes calculated by finite element methods correspond to squeal noise data. Through kinetic energy participation analysis for each part of BCM, we can efficiently predict squeal noise data.

시간영역 빔포밍을 사용한 풍력터빈 축소모델 소음원 측정 (Acoustic Noise Measurement for the Wind Turbine Blade by Using Time-domain Beamforming)

  • The wind tunnel test to identify the acoustic noise source position of the wind turbine blade was conducted in KARI low speed wind tunnel. Microphone array and time-domain beamforming methodology was applied to this study. To reduce the data processing time, a modified beamforming method with a criteria between calculation time step and grid size for rotating angle in the cylinderical coordinate system was proposed. The test results shows that the data processing time to identify the noise source position was reduced to 20% compared with conventional method. And the dominant noise source of the blade moves from inboard to blade tip as the frequency increases.

  • The purpose of this study is to propose an appropriate method for marking out a boundary line of area damaged by aircraft noise. In an actual situation, there are many gaps between the boundary line of aircraft noise contour and the boundary line of an occupant of a house. Three cases faced in practice are considered in this study. Case I is considered the land number together with sub-number. The Tong and Ban (the residential district number in Korea) are considered in Case II. In Case III, the configuration of ground is examined. The authors expect that the authority of aviation affairs should choose one of these cases and put in force in the near future.

Binary Mask Criteria Based on Distortion Constraints Induced by a Gain Function for Speech Enhancement

  • Large gains in speech intelligibility can be obtained using the SNR-based binary mask approach. This approach retains the time-frequency (T-F) units of the mixture signal, where the target signal is stronger than the interference noise (masker) (e.g., SNR > 0 dB), and removes the T-F units, where the interfering noise is dominant. This paper introduces two alternative binary masks based on the distortion constraints to improve the speech intelligibility. The distortion constraints are induced by a gain function for estimating the short-time spectral amplitude. One binary mask is designed to retain the speech underestimated (T-F) units while removing the speech overestimated (T-F)units. The other binary mask is designed to retain the noise overestimated (T-F) units while removing noise underestimated (T-F) units. Listening tests with oracle binary masks were conducted to assess the potential of the two binary masks in improving the intelligibility. The results suggested that the two binary masks based on distortion constraints can provide large gains in intelligibility when applied to noise-corrupted speech.

  • In this study, the extracted words from the former study such as annoying, loud, noisy, irritating, disagreeable, strident, disturbed, and dissonant are given to subjects in psycho acoustic experiment lab. And then, correlation analysis between the words and floor impact noise rating method were carried out. As a result of this study followings are suggested ‘Annoying’ is the word most accurately expressing the subjects’ unpleasant feeling of domestic floor impact noise. The results of this study could be basic materials for psycho acoustic experiments for criteria on floor impact noise and Sound Classification on Floor Impact Sound Insulation Performance.

한국형 고속전철용 판토그라프의 풍동소음시험 (High Speed Wind Tunnel Test of KHST Pantograph)

  • Wind tunnel test of a new pantograph, that is developed through the KHST project, was performed in RTRI wind tunnel test center of Japan end of last June. This paper indtroduces the measurement results and analysis of noise measurement part that is achieved during the wind tunnel test. The maximum measured sound pressure level at 5m shows 102.3dB(A) at 350km/h and it leads to 88.3dB(A) of predicted sound pressure at 25m that satisfy 91dB(A) of evaluation criteria. Major noise sources of the pantograph was identified as a link between upper and lower arm, panhead contact strips and shunt wires.

  • 수원 삼성전자 DM연구소(R4) 신축동 6층 옥상에 위치한 냉각탑으로 인해 인근 연구실 및 사무실에 소음 전파 우려가 있어 이에 대한 소음영향 평가를 수행하고 대책을 수립하고자 한다. 이를 위해 연구실에 대한 소음기준을 설정하고 음향해석기법을 이용하여 방음대책 수립 전 후에 대한 소음영향 평가를 수행하였으며, 냉각탑 소음을 줄이기 위한 방음대책안을 제시하였다.

SIP공법의 지지력 특성에 관한 연구 (Bearing Capacity Characteristics of SIP)

  • As piling works in urban area increasing, SIP which is low noise & vibration piling method is taking place of driven pile which has good bearing charateristics and economics. Since SIP has been used for more than 15 years and it's application is increasing year by year, however, accurate analysis of bearing mechanism of SIP is not enough. So the design of SIP is much more conservative than driven pile. This paper is aimed to analyse the bearing charateristics of 103 SIPs constructed in Korea to give rational design criteria. Research result shows that bearing capacity of SIP is 40% lower than that of driven pile and conservative Meyerhof(equation omitted) method produced closer result to load test results than other design method. And this result show that to use optimised design criteria for the economic SIP design, quality control criteria must be settled down to produce high in-situ bearing capacity.

  • Active application of auger-drilled piling is expected in Korea considering its advantage in noise and vibration problems against driven piling and its cost-effectiveness in comparison to the cast in-situ piling. The current design practice being used in Korea is adopted from the Japanese one, however the equipment and construction procedure is modified for the geotechnical conditions and construction circumstances in Korea. Therefore there is an urgent need for the establishment of the rational design criteria for the auger-drilled piling in Korea. As the preliminary work for the establishment, this paper presents the current practice in Korean railway constructions. Design criteria of Korea Railway Network Authority are introduced and its characteristics and the problems are described. Application cases of auger-drilled pile to railway construction are introduced as well.
