호흡성분진중의 중금속 오염도에 관한 조사연구 (A Study of Heavy Metal Pollutants in the Respirable Dust in Seoul Area)

  • The heavy metal of suspended particulates with human health has long been studied in environmental interest concerned. This study was intended to identify harmful heavy metals of the ambient air borne dusts which were related with the respirable sizes in the aerodynamics. Two sampling sites were selected comparatively; one was in the Shinchon area, which is the commercial district with heavy traffic and the other site was in the Bulgwang area which is residential area. The supended particulates were sampled by high volume air sample with 6 cascade impactor stages. The heavy metals in terms of As, Cd, Cr, Cu, Fe, Hg, Mn, Ni, Pb, Se, V and Zn were determined by stomic absorption spectrometry or inductively coupled plasma emission spectrometry. The samples weretaken bimothly for seven consecutive days from May 1987 to March 1988. The annual average concentration of the respirable suspended dust of which diameter is less than 10$\mum$ was 152.59 $\mug/m^3$ of the Shinchon air samples; the respirable dust was equivalent to approximately 85% of the total suspended particulates. The annual average concentration of the respirable suspended dust of the Bulgwang air samples was 112.56 $\mug/m^3$; that was approximately 86% of the total suspended particulates. The concentration of heavy metals was investigated in relation to the particle size. The concentration of Cr, Fe, Mn and V were tended to be much more in the coarse particles than in the fine particles. Cd and Pb in the fine particles were more than in the coarse particles. In the partial correlation coefficients; in the Shinchon area, high correlations among Fe, Se and Mn were determined; it is assumed that those sources would be originated from coal, gasolineand diesel. In Bulgwang area, would be high correlation among Fe, Se, Hg and Mn considered to be originated from coal, Bunker-C and heavy oil as well. From the above results, the hazardous heavy merals in air should be measured and controlled in originally their sources.

  • 복합 전파흡수체로 사용할 Ni-Cu-Zn ferrite는 공침법을 사용하여 제조 하였고,제조 시편의 물리적 특성 및 전파흡수특성은 소결온도 변화에 따라 고찰하였다. Ni-Cu-Zn ferrite의 스피넬 구조는 XRD pattern을 통하며 확인하였다. 소결온도가 $1100^{\circ}C$에서 흡수 능력도 좋아짐을 알 수 있었으며, 소결된 페라이트의 초투자율은 평균 50 정도로 나타났다. $Ni_{0.7}Cu_{0.2}Zn_{0.1}Fe_2O_4$ 조성에서 소결 온도가 $1100^{\circ}C$ 일 때가 복합 전파흡수체로 사용할 조성임을 확인할 수 있었으며, 그 결과 복합 전파흡수체에서 사용할 수 있다고 사료된다.

증기발생기 슬러지 중 구형입자의 특성 조사 (The Characterization of Spherical Perticles in Steam Generator Sludge)

  • 원자력 발전소의 증기발생기 슬러지 중에서는 이온교환수지가 발견되어서는 안 된다. 원자력 발전소의 증기발생기 슬러지 시료 중에서 발견되어 이온교환수지 입자로 의심되는 구형 입자들의 특성을 측정하였다. 미세조작기술을 이용하여 광학현미경으로 입자 크기 분포를, EPMA로 구형입자의 성분을, 그리고 IR 분광 스펙트럼 비교에 의하여 이온교환수지 여부를 조사하였다. 슬러지의 입자 크기는 1 내지 $200{\mu}m$이었으나 구형 입자는 $40-500{\mu}m$이었다. 슬러지의 주요 불순원소가 Si, Al, Mn, Cr, Ni, Zn, 그리고 Ti이었으나 구형 입자는 Si, Cu, Zn 이었다. 주성분은 두 경우 모두 철이었다. 구형 입자의 IR 분광스펙트럼은 증기발생기 취출수 정화계통에서 사용하는 이온교환수지의 스펙트럼과 비교했을 때 서로 일치하지 않음을 보여주었다. 이 결과들은 증기발생기 슬러지 시료 중에서 발견된 구형 입자가 이온교환수지는 아니며 일반적인 슬러지가 생성되는 과정에서 작은 슬러지 입자들이 크게 뭉쳐서 생성된 것임을 나타내고 있다.

수원지역 강하분진의 화학조성및 공간분포 분석 (Chemical Compositions and Spatial Distribution Analysis of Fall-Out Particles in Suwon Area)

  • Deposition is one of the important removal mechanisms for the ambient aerosol, and it also leads to adverse environmental and economic impacts. The purpose of this study was to investigate chemical compositions and spatial distributions of fall-out aerosols. A total number of 340 samples were collected at 35 sampling sites in Suwon area from January to November, 1996. Twelve inorganic elements (Al, Ba, Cd, Cr, K, Pb, Sb, Zn, Cu, Fe, Ni, and V) and eight ionic components ($F^-$, Cl, $NO_3^-$, $SO_4^{2-}$, $Na^+$, $NH_4^+$, $Mg^{2+}$, and $Ca^{2+}$) were analyzed by AAS and IC, respectively. The monthly variation showed that the flux of fall-out particles was increased in the spring season(March, April, and May) and decreased from August to October. Arithmetic mean flux of fall-out particles was 176.8 kg/$ extrm{km}^2$/day during the study period. The fluxes of each chemical species were $SO_4^{2-}$ 12.414, $Ca^{2+}$ 7.369, $NO_3^-$ 5.812, $Cl^-$ 3.566, $NH_4^+$ 3.176, Fe 3.107 kg/$\textrm{km}^2$/day, and so on. By using a kriging analysis, spatial distribution pattern of those fluxes was intensively studied. Total fluxes estimated in Suwon city were 8424.72t/y of fall-out particles, 519.27t/y of $SO_4^{2-}$, 336.79t/y of $Ca^{2+}$,267.34 t/y of $NO_3^+$, 155.36t/y of $Cl^-$, 147.79t/y of Fe.

고탄소강의 흑연화에 미치는 Ni첨가의 영향 (Effects of Ni additions on Graphitization in High carbon steel)

  • Graphitization of cementite in high carbon steels at subcritical temperature is reported. We have studied about the effects of Ni in these steels on graphitization. The chemical compositions of the specimens were Fe-(0.54, 0.7)%-C-1.0%Si-0.1%Mn-(0.2~1.0)%Ni. After annealing at $650^{\circ}C$, $680^{\circ}C$ and $700^{\circ}C$ during various time the microstructures and hardness change were observed. In order to recover the initial hardness of high carbon steel, dissolution treatment of graphite was performed at $870^{\circ}C$. In case of 0.7%C steel, graphitization was accelerated rather 1.0%Ni addition steel than 0.2% and 0.54%Ni addition steels but the graphite is coarser. In case of 0.54%C-0.2%Ni steel, graphite particles were distributed relatively homogeniously and finely. Nickel addition promotes graphitization of these steels but makes graphite blocky.

소백산 대기 중 입자상 물질의 화학적 특성에 관한 연구(II):금속 원소의 계절적인 변화와 기원을 중심으로 (Chemical characteristics of atmospheric particulate species in Mt. Soback, Korea(II):The sources and seasonal variations of metallic elements)

  • In order to evaluate the distribution and behaviour of atmospheric particulate metals in high-altitude area, we collected 22 aerosol samples using a high volume air sampler at Soback Mt. Meteorological Observation Station from Jan. to Nov. 1993 and analysed for metals (Al, Fe, Mg, Na, Ca, Mn, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Cd, and Pb) with ICP/AES and ICP/MS. Although sampling site is located in high-altitude and far from local sources of atmospheric pollutants, enrichments of metals are 2 times higher than those of western coastal reural area. This fact may imply that of metallic pollutants in the coastal rural site were came from further western side (e.g. China), atmospheric metals in this study area contain the signal of metropolitan cities located in the main wind direction (NNW). Sea salts are negligible in the aerosol particle population because reference elements of sea salts (Na, Mg) are all originated from soil particles. The contents of soil particles in aerosols are highest in spring and lowest in winter. Atmospheric enriched elements (Ni, Cu, Zn, Cd and Pb) are diluted with soil particles, especially during the yellow sand period. The results of factor analysis suggest possibility of interpreting their chemical significance in terms of sources (soil, pollutants) and gas-particle conversion processes (formation of ammonium sulfates, ammonium nitrates and/or their mixtures).

남극 브랜스필드 해협에서 침강입자의 금속원소 특성 (Behaviors of Metals in the Settling Particles in the Bransfield Strait, Antarctica)

  • Sediment trap samples were collected to find out characteristic behaviors of metals in the settling particles by using time-series sediment traps at 678m and 1678m water depths in the Bransfield Strait from December 27th, 1999 to December 26th, 2000. Total mass fluxes at the intermediate water depth (678m water depth) were high in the austral summer and low in the austral winter, whereas at the deep water depth (1678m water depth) they showed high values in both the summer and winter. Total mass fluxes were generally higher in the deep water depth than in the intermediate water depth, which indicates that a substantial amount of sediments are laterally transported by strong currents into the deep basin from the shallow water depths. Aluminium contents also showed large seasonal variations with high values in the winter and low values in the summer. On the contrary, organic carbon contents were high in the summer and low in the winter. Al contents were negatively correlated with organic carbon contents, which may be ascribed that detrital particles are diluted by organic matter produced by phytoplankton in the surface waters. Metals measured in this study exhibited three characteristic behaviors; 1) a positive correlation with Al-Ti, Fe, Mn, V, Co, and Ba, 2) a negative correlation with Al-Cd and Zn, 3) no relationship with Al-Sr, Cu, Cr, Ni. Terrestrial materials may act as a major source fer metals that are positively correlated with Al, and organic matter may be a major source for metals that are negatively correlated with Al. Enrichment factor (EF) of Fe, Mn, Ba, Vi Co, Sr, Cr, and Ni ranged from 0.5 to 1.5, whereas EF of Zn, Cu, and Cd showed much higher values than 1.

DLC 코팅한 Fe-3.0%Ni-0.7%Cr-1.4%Mn-X강의 표면특성평가 (Characterization of DLC Coated Surface of Fe-3.0%Ni-0.7%Cr-1.4%Mn-X Steel)

  • The various surface treated conditions of Fe-3.0%Ni-0.7%Cr-1.4%Mn-X steel such as as-received, ion nitriding, DLC coated, DLC coated after nitriding for 3 hrs and 6 hrs were investigated to evaluate the beneficial effect for plastic mold steel. Micro Vickers hardness tester was used to estimate nitriding depth from the hardness profile and to measure hardness on the surface. Elastic modulus and residual stress were measured by a nanoindentator. Scratch test and SP (small ball punch test) were utilized to assess the adhesive strength of DLC coating. The depth of nitriding layer was measured as $50{\mu}m$ for the condition of 3 hrs nitriding and $90{\mu}m$ for that of 6 hrs nitriding. Hardness, elastic modulus, residual stress of DLC coating were 20.37 GPa, 162.78 GPa and -1456 MPa respectively. Residual stress on the surface of DLC coating after nitriding could increase to -3914 MPa by introducing nitriding before DLC coating. During the 'Ball-On-Disc' test ${\gamma}^{\prime}$ particles pulled out from the surface of nitrized layer tend to enhance abrasive wear mode since the fraction of ${\gamma}^{\prime}$ (Fe4N) in ion-nitrized layer is known to increases with nitriding time. Thus the specific wear rate of the nitriding layer increased. Comparing with nitriding the specific wear rate in work piece disc as well as ball decreased prominently in DLC coating due to the remarkable reduction in friction coefficient.

대불산업단지 도로먼지 내 중금속류 오염 특성: 입도와 자성에 따른 구분 (Characteristics for Heavy Metal Pollution in Road Dust from Daebul Industrial Complex: Classification by Particle Size and Magnetic Separation)

  • 본 연구에서는 대불산업단지 내 14개 지점에서 채취한 도로먼지의 입도, 중금속 성분, 자기특성 등 물리 화학적 특성을 파악하고, 오염도 평가를 통해 주변 환경에 미치는 영향에 대한 고찰을 시행하였다. 도로먼지 내 금속농도는 Fe>Zn>Cu>Pb>Cr>Ni>As>Cd>Hg 순이었으며, 중금속류 오염은 연구지역의 주요 산업 및 교통 활동에 영향을 받은 것으로 나타났다. 도로먼지 내 중금속 원소와 입도와의 상관관계 분석결과는 Fe 및 모든 분석된 원소가 서로 유의한 상관관계를 가지며, 입자크기와는 유의한 음의 상관성을 가짐을 보여주었다(p<0.05). 그러나 큰 금속 입자들의 노면 유입으로 인해 일부 금속의 경우 >1000 ㎛의 입자의 중금속류 농도가 가장 높았으며, 이 분율의 단위면적당 오염부하량이 다른 입도분율보다 높았다. 도로먼지에서 자성입자의 분리 후 Cr, Ni, Cu, Zn, Cd, Pb의 농도 수준이 전체의 85(As)-22(Ni)%로 감소함을 알 수 있었다. 연구지역 도로먼지의 평균 중금속 오염도는 3지역 토양환경 우려기준을 초과하지 않아 우려할 수준은 아닌 것으로 나타났으나, 일부 지점의 경우 Zn 농도 기준을 초과해 재 비산이나 비점오염유출 등을 통해 도로먼지가 주변 환경에 미치는 영향과 효과적 관리방법에 대한 더욱 자세한 연구가 필요한 것으로 판단된다.
