SA508 Gr.4N Ni-Cr-Mo low alloy steel, in which Ni and Cr contents are higher than in commercial SA508 Gr.3 Mn-Mo-Ni low alloy steels, may be a candidate reactor pressure vessel (RPV) material with higher strength and toughness from its tempered martensitic microstructure. The inner surface of the RPV is weld-cladded with stainless steels to prevent corrosion. The goal of this study is to evaluate the microstructural properties of the clad interface between Ni-Cr-Mo low alloy steel and stainless weldment, and the effects of post weld heat treatment (PWHT) on the properties. The properties of the clad interface were compared with those of commercial Mn-Mo-Ni low alloy steel. Multi-layer welding of model alloys with ER308L and ER309L stainless steel by the SAW method was performed, and then PWHT was conducted at $610^{\circ}C$ for 30 h. The microstructural changes of the clad interface were analyzed using OM, SEM and TEM, and micro-Vickers hardness tests were performed. Before PWHT, the heat affected zone (HAZ) showed higher hardness than base and weld metals due to formation of martensite after welding in both steels. In addition, the hardness of the HAZ in Ni-Cr-Mo low alloy steel was higher than that in Mn-Mo-Ni low alloy steel due to a comparatively high martensite fraction. The hardness of the HAZ decreased after PWHT in both steels, but the dark region was formed near the fusion line in which the hardness was locally high. In the case of Mn-Mo-Ni low alloy steel, formation of fine Cr-carbides in the weld region near the fusion line by diffusion of C from the base metal resulted in locally high hardness in the dark region. However, the precipitates of the region in the Ni-Cr-Mo low alloy steel were similar to that in the base metal, and the hardness in the region was not greatly different from that in the base metal.

The variation of Composition and the microstructure of Zn-Ni alloy electrodespposits were investigated to the electrolysis conditions chloride bath. The codeposition mechanism is of the equilibrium type in the electrolysis condition of the high temperature(6$0^{\circ}C$)and high flow rate (1.2-3.0m/sec). The(411, 330) perferred orienation was mainly developed in the Zn-Ni electrodeposir with ${\gamma}$-phase structure, while the(422.600) orientation was closely related to the commposition and the structure of the alloy electrodeposit.
PURPOSE. This study aimed to develop a copper-aluminium-nickel alloy which has properties comparable to that of dental alloys used for dental post and core applications with the reasonable cost. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Sixteen groups of experimental copper alloys with variants of 3, 6, 9, 12 wt% Al and 0, 2, 4, 6 wt% Ni were prepared and casted. Their properties were tested and evaluated. The data of thermal, physical, and mechanical properties were analyzed using the two-way ANOVA and Tukey's test (${\alpha}$=0.05). The alloy toxicity was evaluated according to the ISO standard. RESULTS. The solidus and liquidus points of experimental alloys ranged from $1023^{\circ}C$ to $1113^{\circ}C$ and increased as the nickel content increased. The highest ultimate tensile strength ($595.9{\pm}14.2$ MPa) was shown in the Cu-12Al-4Ni alloy. The tensile strength was increased as the both elements increased. Alloys with 3-6 wt% Al exhibited a small amount of 0.2% proof strength. Accordingly, the Cu-9Al-2Ni and Cu-9Al-4Ni alloys not only demonstrated an appropriate modulus of elasticity ($113.9{\pm}8.0$ and $122.8{\pm}11.3$ GPa, respectively), but also had a value of 0.2% proof strength ($190.8{\pm}4.8$ and $198.2{\pm}3.4$ MPa, respectively), which complied with the ISO standard requirement (>180 MPa). Alloys with the highest contents of nickel (6 wt% Ni) revealed a widespread decolourisation zone (5.0-5.9 mm), which correspondingly produced the largest cell response, equating positive control. CONCLUSION. The copper alloys fused with 9 wt% Al and 2-4 wt% Ni can be considered for a potential use as dental post and core applications.

Homogeneous microstructures of the PM compacts are difficult to attain when mixed elemental powders are used. This study examined the microstructures of pressed-and-sintered and MIM products that contain Ni and Mo.Ni-rich areas, which were lean in carbon and were soft and were found easily in regular specimens. Gaps or cracks near the Ni-rich or Mo-rich areas were also frequently observed. This problem worsened when Ni and Mo particles were large and were irregular in shape. By using ball milling treatment and ferroalloy powders, the microstructure homogeneity and mechanical properties were improved. The addition of 0.5wt%Cr further improved the distribution of Ni because Cr reduced the repulsion effect between nickel and carbon. With the elimination of Ni-rich areas, more bainites and martensites were formed and mechanical properties were significantly improved.

Characteristics of microstructure, hardness and wear of two AI-20Si-5Fe-2Ni materials produced by powder metallurgy and spray forming respectively were studied at temperatures up to 560$^{\circ}C$. Above 300$^{\circ}C$, the microstructure of powder processed alloy became inhomogenous, whereas the spray formed alloy showed homogeneous microstructures. Hardness of both alloys was increased between 300$^{\circ}C$~490$^{\circ}C$ in both alloy. It was interpreted that increase in hardness was mainly related to the formation of stable and fine intermetallic phase from metastable one. It was showed that hoogenity of microstructure in the rapidliy soldified affected directly wear property.
For connector material applications, the influence alloying elements of Mn, Cr, Fe, and Ti and cold rolling reduction on the mechanical property, electrical conductivity and bendiability of Cu-Ni-Si-P alloy was investigated. The hot rolled plates were solution treated at $980^{\circ}C$ for 1.5 h, quenched into water, cold rolled by 10% and 30% reduction in thickness, and then aged at $440{\sim}500^{\circ}C$ for 3, 4, 5 times. respectively. Cu-Ni-Si-P-x alloys cold rolled by 10 reduction before heat treatment have a good bendability compare to cold rolled by 30 reduction. Cu-3.4Ni-0.8Si-0.03P-0.1Ti shows the peak strength value of 759 MPa, an electrical conductivity of 39%IACS, an elongation of 10% and a hardness of 256 Hv aged at $440^{\circ}C$ for 6 hrs. Thus it is suitable for lead frame and connector.

We have studied the formation of alloy for $Ni_{45}AL_{45}C_{10}$ as a function of milling times. This alloy was produced using mechanical alloying. The effect of milling time on local structural changes of $Ni_{45}AL_{45}C_{10}$ has been investigated by means of EXAFS. Both XRD and EXAFS patterns from mechanically alloyed $Ni_{45}AL_{45}C_{10}$ powder indicates the formation of solid solution. The variation of lattice parameter and particle sizes could be analyzed from the different of milling times. Magnetization was also measured by using VSM.
When alloys are vacuum-deposited on cooled substrates, super-rapidly cooled alloy films in the unequilibrium state can be obtained. As an application of this method, Ag-Cu, Ag-Ni and Ag-C alloys were successfully produced, and their mechanical properties with tempering temperature were investigated. The following results were obtained : (1) In case of Ag-Cu alloys, the solid solution was hardened by tempering at $150^{\circ}C$. The hardening is considered to occur when the solid solution begins to decompose into ${\alpha}$ and ${\beta}$ phases. The Knoop hardness number of a 40 at.%Ag-Cu alloy film deposited on a cooled glass substrate was 390 $kg/mm^2$. The as-deposited films were generally very hard but fractured under stresses below their elastic limits. (2) In case of Ag-Ni and Ag-C alloys, after the tempering of 4 at.%Ni-Ag alloy at $400^{\circ}C$ and of 1 and 2 at.%C-Ag alloys at $200^{\circ}C$, they were hardened by the precipitation of fine nickel and carbon particles. The linear relationship between proof stress vs. $(grain\;diameter)^{-l/2}$ for bulk silver polycrystals can be applied to vacuum-deposited films up to about 0.1 ${\mu}m$ grain diameter, but the proof stress of ultra-fine grained silver with grain diameters of less than 0.1 ${\mu}m$ was smaller than the value expected from the Petch's relation.

The hyper-eutectic Mg-33.5%Ni alloy was rapidly solidified by melt spinning process. The melt-spun Mg-33.5%Ni has amorphous structure and crystallization occurred above $162^{\circ}C$. The hydriding and dehydriding rates of melt-spun Mg-33.5%Ni increased with cycle and high rate of hydrogen storage occurred at 3rd cycle. The maximum hydrogen amount absorbed in melt-spun Mg-33.5%Ni at $300^{\circ}C$ is about 4.5%.

The aim of the current study was to predict shape recovery behavior of Ni-Ti shape memory alloy (SMA) wire after loading-unloading and after wire drawing. The superelasticity of SMA was analyzed by a hyper-elastic model for the Mullins effect using ABAQUS. Firstly, tensile tests and loading-unloading tests of the Ni-Ti SMA wire with a diameter 1.0 mm were performed using an MTS servo-hydraulic tester. The parameters for the Mullins effect were computed by ABAQUS based on curve-fitting of the loading-unloading test data. The proposed FE-model predicted the shape recovery of Ni-Ti SMA after wire drawing. Finally, the effectiveness of the model was verified by drawing experiments. The wire drawing experiments using the Ni-Ti SMA were conducted on a drawing machine(1ton, 50mm/s). In order to evaluate the shape recovery of Ni-Ti SMA, the drawn wires are annealed for 30min at $450^{\circ}C$.
