For breeding of a new rootstock for eggplant production, somatic hybrids between two species, Solanum integrifolium and S. sanitwongsei were obtained through protoplast fusion. The former species has been commonly used for rootstock for eggplant production in Japan. Eggplants on these rootstocks are more productive than ungrafted plants, but are susceptible to bacterial wilt caused Ralstonia solanacearum. While the latter species is resistant, the growth of eggplants on this rootstock is rather slow and low yield. Protoplast of both species were isolated from cotyledons, and inactivated with iodoacetamide or UV-irradiation, then fused electrically. The fused products were then cultured. Regenerated plantlets were then transplanted on soil then maintained in a green house. The plants were classified into four groups. Those in the first group showed morphological characters intermediate of the parentalspecies. The plants bore fruit with viable seeds. The plants showed a chromosome number of 2n=48, the sum of those of the parental species, and are suggested to be symmetric fusion products. While plants in the other groupswas less vigorous and showed chromosome number 2n= 68 to 72 suggesting asymmetric fusion products by genomic in situ hybridization(GISH). Isozyme pattern of shikimate dehydrogenase (SKDH; EC 1.1.1.25), isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH; EC 1.1.1.41) and phosphoglucomutase (PGM; EC 2.7.5.1) showed that 24 regenerated plants in three groups were somatic hybrids. Analysis of random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) showed that 43 S. integrifolium-specific and 57 S. sanitwongsei-specific bands were all found in 24 plants. Both somatic hybrids and its S1 plants were found to be resistant to bacterial wilt, and eggplant grafted these plants using for rootstocks were more productive than grafted mother plants. Now, S1 progenies are used for commercial eggplant production in Osaka Prefecture.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between five aspects of clothing behavior and needs for exhibition and autonomy among high schoolgirls. Five aspects of clothing behavior were studied: fashion interest, clothing exhibition, attitudes toward the abolition of the school uniform and control of school dress. A questionnaire of 20 items prepared by Kahng, Lee, and Creekmore was used to assess fashion interest and clothing exhibition. Assessment of attitudes toward the abolition of school uniform and control of school dress was made with questions devised for this study and included several modified items from Kim's questionnaire. Preferences for fashion style were determined by line drawings representing current fashion and outdated fashion. The questionnaires were administered to 341 second year senior high school girls from three types of schools. Statistical analysis was performed using the correlation coefficient, chi-square test, ANOVA, The results were: 1) The need for exhibition was positively related to clothing exhibition and fashion interest, that is, students who had a higher need for exhibition were more interested in clothing exhibition and fashion. 2) The need for autonomy was positively related to attitudes toward the abolition of school uniform and control of school dress that is, students who had a higher need for autonomy wanted the abolition of school uniform and less control of school dress. 3) Fashion interest was positively related to preference for fashion style, that is, students who a higher fashion interest prefered fashinable styles in the selection of new clothes. 4) Scores of clothing exhibition and attitudes toward loosening of control of school dress were significantly different among three types of school. The orders from highest to lowest are following: single-sex preparatory, coeducational preparatory, vocational high school.

'BUDDEUMI and BUDDEUMI's treatment; is a new remedy of the synchronous combination of cupping boil and moxibustion for the exclusion of human body's waste product. 'BUDDEUMI and BUDDEUMI's' treatment' wishes the reachfor improving the effect of cupping boil and moxibustion by the synchronous combination. As the negative pressure of cupping and the hot cure of moxa are made up of BUDDEUMI structural character. The effects of BUDDEMI's treatment are observed on the strengthening of skin breation and the detoxification of blood waste material. Therefor 'BUDDEUMI and BUDDEMI's treatment' is expected for the healthy article of Senior-Friendly.
The problem of the flocculation basin was induced by installing the pilot plant using tracer test at Yang-Duck water treatment plant in Pohang cite. The flocculation basin model downscaled as 1/20 was made of acryl and evaluated hydraulically by transforming the section of the effluent in the flocculation basin. The optimum section of the effluent was suggested and applied to the plant. The efficiency of the flocculation basin according to improvement was evaluated by the particle counter which can count the number of particles each size fraction. The results of this study are as follows : First, it was desirable to make the retention time as short as possible because the flow and the index value were similar regardless of the retention time. Second, after the modification in Yang-Duck water treatment plant, the problem of destruction of floe was improved and the plant was operated satisfactorily. The hydraulic experiment with tracer test can be applied to the performance evaluation as well as improvement of facility in unit process of existing water treatment plant. Additionally, it can be used to find a design factor in the new water treatment plant.
The purpose of this study is to analyse the successful modernization strategy, and the difference between original Burberry and Burberry Prosum design. This will help in providing the fundamental information to Korean luxury fashion brands. Burberry, in particular, is rated as the most popular luxury brand in Korean fashion market. This brand has also rated 5th in sale worldwide and 1st in Korea in 2002, and was continuously been rated in 10th for the last 5 years. Related articles, fashion magazines, fashion web-site were used in this analysis, and the method was theoretical and case study. The results are divided into two categories of internal and external factors and two design patterns of check pattern and trench coat were observed. First of all, internal factor in Burberry is that they have scouted a new CEO and quickly changed their image with famous British models for the purpose of marketing strategies. They have also moved their main shop in London to Bond street, and opened shops in every country's capital cities. They were successful in achieving this by using celebrity marketing strategies with many famous celebrities. Secondly, external factor was that they have hired a designer named Christoper Bailey and this highlighted and enhanced the check pattern and trench coat. As a results, more generalized and diverse design items were presented and accessory line was enhanced, creating a much more younger image. This in turn attracted more younger customers. To sum up, original Burberry focused on classic designs, however Burberry Prosum focused on transforming traditional Burberry design into avant-garde and young. In other words, the reason for the success of this brand is highly dependent on its marketing strategies in which its uniqueness of schizophrenic cloche has appropriately represented and used in design.
The objective of this paper is to examine the proportion and characteristics of non-emergent patients at emergency departments. The observational survey was conducted using a structured form used by emergency medicine specialists or senior residents on June 7-20, 2005. 1,526 patients at ten emergency centers took part in this study. The structural form contained type of insurance, route and means of emergency department (ED) visit, triage based on the Manchester Triage Scale(MTS)-modified criteria, emergency level based on the government defined rule, type of emergency centers (Regional Emergency Medical Center; REMC, Local Emergency Medical Center; LEMC, Local Emergency Agency; LEA), as well as patient's general information. Data were analyzed using SAS statistical program(V.8.2). Descriptive analysis was performed to describe the magnitude of non-emergent patients. ${\chi}^2-analysis$ and logistic regression analysis was performed to identify the nonurgent patients' characteristics. In the MTS-modified criteria, we found a 15.3% rate of non-emergent patients. This rate differed from that of non-emergent patients obtained using government's rule. In particular, there were inaccuracies in the definition of government rule on non-emergent patients, so it is necessary to apply the new government rule regarding classification of non-emergent patients. There were significant differences in the rate of non-emergent patients according to type of ED, means of ED visit, time to visit, and insurance. Non-emergent patients are more likely to visit a D-type ED(LEA having less than 20,000 patients annually), not to use ambulance, to have 'Automobile Insurance, Industrial Accident Compensation Insurance, or pay out-of-pocket'. Non-emergent patients tend to visit ED due to illness rather than injury. Further studies on the development' of triage scale and reexamination of the government's rule on emergency visits are required for future policy in this area.
In accordance with the rapid growth of advertisement business, the advertisement education in college also has grown in quantity. But compared with this growth in volume, the dissatisfaction with curriculum and alumni's business ability is a problem to be settled in advertisement education. The purpose of this research is to provide creative ideas for the improvement of advertisement education in college that is needed for the advertisement field, by means of a survey for those who are concerned in advertisement education including personnel managers in advertisement companies and senior workers who have worked with new faces. The survey was done for 137 employees who are working for advertisement companies. The result of this research shows that there are differences between the education content provided by advertisement education in colleges and the ability needed for business. This research suggests that the curriculum in college should be operated to create the ability required in advertisement business, and two parties concerned in advertisement education (college and advertisement company) need to continually try to extend the mutual interest and understanding.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of recreational therapy as part of Social Adult Day Care Program administered in the state of New York for the Korean American elderly living in the United States. The study was conducted in a nonequivalent control group posttest-only design from February to April, 2017. The participants included 35 subjects in the experimental group and 35 subjects in the control group; among the sample, 66 participants' data were analyzed. The average age of subjects who participated in this study was 79.4 years, and the average duration of residence in the United States was 24.6 years. Based on the study results, the recreational therapy program provided by the day care center was found to have a positive effect on the participant's daily life performances, depression and loneliness. Therefore, a variety of cultural sensitive recreational therapy program for the elderly population should be developed and operated in the future; furthermore, evidence-based research should be conducted to evaluate the effects of these programs.

This study aimed to investigate the relationship between oriented quality of life and fashion image with a focus on their futures. The results of this study are as follows. First, oriented quality of life was sampled as six factors such as information preference, job preference, self-preference, leisure preference, health preference, and self-defense preference, whereas an oriented fashion image was drawn as three factors such as urban image, individual image, and feminine image. Second, the self-defense preference had a significant effect on modern image and individual image as in Photo 1, while leisure preference and self-defense preference exerted a significant influence on feminine image in Photo 2. In Photo 3, leisure preference and self-defense preference affected urban image significantly, and health preference and self-defense preference respectively influenced individual image and feminine image. Third, as a result of investigating the difference between oriented quality of life and the sub-element of oriented fashion image according to the type of oriented quality of life, six groups of oriented quality of life (self-preference, job preference, self-defense preference, information preference, leisure preference, and health preference group) displayed significant differences only in individual image as presented in Photo 2. Fourth, in consequence of examining differences in the factor of an oriented fashion image according to the type oriented quality of life, six groups according to the type of oriented quality of life presented significant differences in the individual, splendor, elegant, refined, youthful, feminine, and modern image among the factor of oriented fashion image.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate undergraduate nursing students' volunteering activities, volunteering motivation- needs, sociability and satisfaction in their major for those who take the social service activities, and to provide basic information for operating the credit system of social service activity as service-learning system. Method: This study is a descriptive study and the participants were 363 of 2nd- and 3rd-year students at a nurses' college in I City, who completed the basic course of volunteering, and the survey was conducted during April 2004. Result: The group who participated in counseling service as a volunteering activity was high in volunteering motivation-needs, sociability and satisfaction in their major. In the group who performed volunteering through circle activities, those who volunteered for children, who participated longer and who had an active attitude showed high volunteering motivation-needs. In the group who had volunteering activities during weekdays, those who took an active attitude toward volunteering showed high sociability. Those who were somewhat dissatisfied with volunteering activities, however, showed significantly high sociability. Satisfaction in the major, namely, nursing was higher in senior students, in those who participated in volunteering activities for the first time at college, those who had religion, those who are active in volunteering activities and those who were highly satisfied with volunteering activities. Considering that active attitude toward volunteering activities and high volunteering motivation-needs enhance nursing students' satisfaction in their major, it is necessary to upgrade the current volunteering activities to the level of service learning. That is, it is necessary to develop new service learning in nursing curriculum that utilizes volunteering activities as well as what they learn in major for community societies.
