실내공간의 비선형적 특성 분석에 관한 연구 (A Study of Non-Linear Characteristics in the Interior Space)

  • The concept of non-linearity, which has been derived from a scientific paradigm, has generated new discourse in formative arts. The non-linearity enables various new possibilities such as, generation of diverse and dynamic space, creation of non-geometric form and space, and the shape in the space as it is in nature. This study percepts and explains the concepts of non-linearity and their principles in space modeling in the field of interior design, in terms of the philosophy of fractal geometry. We also analyze cases, which shows trends and specific embodiments of non-linear space modeling. This study will provide perspectives on the non-linearity as a new methods in the space modeling. For the study, we review the concept and characteristics of non-linearity, by examining various literatures, and developed an analyzing tool which was used to study various cases of Western and Korean interior Design.

  • The purpose of this study is to propose a new design concept and properties within new paradigm. Contemporary students of architectural design seem to redefine the mechanic and reductive approach to design method based upon Euclidean geometry. In this study, the organic space-time and holistic view-point that constitutes the background for all this is radically different from the modern design. It consists of three sections as follow: First, it presents a concept of complex system and properties of complexity that we find in new natural science and tries to combine that news geometry with architectural design to provide a methodological basis for morphogenesis and transformation. Second, the complexity in architecture is defined as a fractal shape, folded space, and irreducible organic system that cannot be fully understood by modernist idea of architecture. Third, the complexity in architecture is strategy based on the electronic paradigm that would enable the emergence of creative possibility. The complexity theory offer new insights to explain not only natural laws but also define dynamic architecture. In fine, this study places a great emphasis on the organic world-view to the spatial organization, which I hope will contribute to generating a greater number of creative possibilities for design.

렘 콜하스 건축 디자인에서 과학주의의 표현에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Expression of Scientism in Architectural Design of Rem Koolhaas)

  • Scientism is a kind of paradigm since the birth of Modernism. Architectural design was also effected from scientism in the 1st Machine age, and being effected still In the End Machine age. But many architects in the 2nd Machine age express scientism in architectural design as a "science for kick" as SF. The design of Rem Koolhaas follows the line of Modernism which was effected from scientism in many ways. However he shows modified machine aesthetics as SF pataphysics mixed with literary imagination, and now shows new science paradigm in post-modern age. He expresses many new science theory like indeterminacy theory, chaos, catastrophe theory in his works. And those are expressed as indeterminate program that proceeds in non-linear way, rhizome in space, order out of chaos, topological metamorphosis as a catastrophe. This study analyzes the expression of scientism in architectural design of Rem Koolhaas since 1970s.nce 1970s.

  • This study is to develop a cognitive paradigm including a new model of common cause human behavior error domain and to analyze their causal factors and their properties of common cause huamn error characteristics in software engineering.l A laboratory study was performed to analyze the common causes of human behavior domain error in software develoment and to indentify software design factors contributing to the common cause effects in common cause failure redundancy. The results and analytical paradigm developed in this resuarch can be applied to reliability improvement and cost reduction in software development for many applications. Results are also expected to provide training guideliness for software engineers and for more effective design of ultra-high reliabile software packages.

이세이 미야케 컬렉션에 나타난 A-POC의 특성에 관한연구 (Characteristics of A-POC in Issey Miyake Collection)

  • In a contemporary fashion along with the advance of high technology, development of a new material is being increasingly emphasized and the need of creative convergence using a computer is being expanded. As a global designer who appeared through association between Japan and the West, Issey Miyake has been continually pursuing a new challenge and a solution using high technology, leading the globalization of Japanese fashion. This research aims at examining design characteristics of Issey Miyake collection's A-POC showing a new paradigm, that is, an innovative clothing manufacture system to input information on materials, colors and shapes into a textile machine based on the computer program and manufacture a cylindrical fabric for completion of seamless clothing without sewing or cutting. A-POC is evolving continually through the development of new materials including recycled fibers and organics together with diversification of processing technology. Besides, it shows design characteristics including an integrated manufacturing method, autonomy for customers' selection, practicality for comfortable wearing by the majority, environment friendly idea to reduce waste of fabrics and materials and a new presentation through convergence of exhibition concepts of modern art. This research on Issey Miyake's A-POC characteristics is expected to present a role of fashion designers in a new design idea and paradigm of contemporary clothing using high technology.

  • This study focuses to enhance the general understanding on the new approach and to provide a clue for a new paradigm in man-made physical and residential environment of the 21st Century. Through case analysis, this study aims to examine the characteristics of digital culture itself and of its physical and residential environment and to ultimately forecast the changeability of physical and residential environment prompted by the new digital wave. Without having precedent study about digital culture related to environmental issues, this study aimed to analyze the effect of digital culture in the field of physical environment and residential environment, and to forecast the changability in those fields. On the other hand, this study also atoned to be applicable in construction of a new paradigm in designing physical & residential environment in the near future, so as to contribute to the development of a new environment which will eventually improve the quality of human life.

  • The aim of this study is to understand and redefine the nature of architectural environment within the paradigm of natural science. The chaos theory non-equilibrium thermodynamics theory self-organization of modern physics offer new insights to explain not only natural phenomena but also to define creative and dynamic architectural environment. First natural laws in modern physics like the arrow of time but is related not only with certainty but also possibility so nature is understood as a constantly changing process of evolution. Second the new architectural environment is defined as a kind of fluid and irreducible organic biosytem that cannot be fully understood by modernist idea of architecture. It is conceived of as a fluid constantly changing self-oraganizing system that consists of different situations events movements and programs in uncertain and irreducible time frame. Third insights and implications of natural science offer new language and strategy for design and the two disciplines can be understood as interdependent and co-evolving

  • The purpose of this study is to review the possible effect of the learning paradigm shift from traditional method to ubiquitous learning. What are the societal issues that need to be address in order to design a new pedagogical platform trending from e-learning to m-learning and now the u-learning? That without the proper study of how learning environment may affect the learning process of an individual will lead to poor quality of education. This new era of learning environment offer a big opportunity for "anytime, anywhere" learning. Thus, Lifelong learning is at hand of everyone. Maximizing the benefit of new trend will be a great help and addressing the limitations will lead to quality education.

  • 세계는 지식정보사회(knowledge information society)에 돌입하였다. 정보기술은 지식경영을 등장시킨 요인중의 하나이며 지식경영발전을 가속화시키는 원동력이라고 볼 수 있다. 그리고 최근 정보기술과 인터넷은 눈부신 발전을 해오고 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 급변하는 디지털 환경하의 방대한 인터넷 데이터에서 웹 데이터 마이닝을 통해 고객에 대한 숨겨진 지식을 창출하고, 그 지식을 지식경영프레임웍에 적용한 지식-기반디자인 패러다임을 구축하여 디지털 환경에서 실시간에 고객에 대한 유용한 지식을 창출하여 고객의 욕구를 충족시키는 디자인을 개발 할 수 있도록 하는데 목적이 있다. 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해 먼저 이론적 고찰에서 지식경영프로세스와 웹 데이터 마이닝에 관련된 다양한 사전 연구들을 살펴보고 지식경영프로세스와 웹 데이터 마이닝을 결합하여 새로운 지식-기반 디자인 패러다임(본 연구에서는 웹 데이터 마이닝과 지식경영프로세스가 통합하여 구현된 진정한 의미의 eCRM을 지식-기반 디자인패러다임이라 칭한다)을 제안한다.
