Electric power systems are becoming advanced by using new technology year by year However, in electric power system environments. electromagnetic interference occurs in measurement, supervisory and control systems, especially in sensors. Optical sensor technologies are useful for solving the problem, since they are not affected by electromagnetic interference because they are composed of insulting materials. In this paper, some applications of optical sensor technology to electric power systems are introduced.

The treatment of city life wastes is headache problem. Now, only small portion of burnable wastes is burnt at modern process incinerators, the other large portion is buried in the soil by landfill method. The burnable wastes will be increased year by year. The dioxin, the cancer-causing agent, produced by incineration of wastes influences harmful effect to national human health. The new idea of burnable wastes treatment is using the city life wastes as auxiliary fuel of fluidizing bed combustion boiler of large scale coal-fired power plant. The dioxin-free treatment of burnable wastes is sucessfully achieved by burning the wastes, in flyash storm at fluidizing bed combustion boiler.

The total estimated socioeconomic logistics cost in transportation sector, including traffic congestion, household travel expenses, national macroeconomic logistics and traffic accident related cost, amount to approximately 240 trillion won a year in 2009. The amount is in increasing trend every year due to the inefficient infrastructure system in urban city roads and in intercity highways. The Government adopts the 4th National Spatial Planning (Revised) which is in progress in order to build a new physical environment ensuring people's welfare by providing the efficient and sustainable transportation networking system.

Gravitational-wave has been predicted by Einstein's general relativity in 1916, but its direct detection has failed to date despite of the persistent efforts in the last fifty years in the ground-based gravitational wave detectors. In the centennial year of the birth of general relativity, 'advanced LIGO', one of the most promising Earth-based gravitational wave detectors, plans to start commissioning for the successful discovery of gravitational waves. In addition, a pathfinder satellite of eLISA project, a space-based GW antenna by European Space Agency (ESA), will be launched in the mid of this year. In this talk, we review the current status of gravitational waves detection experiments and discuss its scientific impacts and the possibility of opening the new age of astronomy.

With swelling of Chinese Economic scale, the competitive environment is swinging over the north-east Asia countries, Korea, Japan, China, and Taiwan. As the result of this circumstance, each countries in this area has been reformed their industries. According to the expanding in ocean logistic. The trends of competition on Hub port is looking forward much more severe year after year to preoccupy in logistics competitive within this Area. On the other hand, considering competitive environment & swelling of Chinese Economic scale, the structural reforms are imperative in korea. Korea have to convert the traditional sects into new high added value sects. In these trends, provincial government also should look for the plan for reinforcement of Regional competitiveness. The focus of this study is to look for the reinforcement methods on regional competitiveness of Gyeongnam Provincial Government. First, competitive industries in Gyeongnam, and second, Masan Free Trade Zone will be surveyed from data. Finally, the effects of New Hub port developing in Pusan-Jinhae will be discussed.

2009 year new execution of appointments for secondary school teachers was announced at 2004 year by Ministry of Education. The new school teacher appointment has been developed and studied in various aspects of appropriate qualification for good school teacher. In the results of the studies by Korea School Mathematics Education Association and pre-exams by Korea Institute for Curriculum and Evaluation, the Probability and Statistics chapters are less revaluated as 7.5-10%, but we argue those more than 15% as along with our recent Korean school texts reviews(Lee, et al., 2005).

Current maintenance costs of the educational facilities have been determined by the years of services according to their foundation year. However, these maintenance costs have not considered maintenance and repairing. Therefore, this study suggests a new method to recalculate the years of services of schools by using the data of maintenance and repairing which is stored in the CAD drawing of the educational facilities. Also, since the data of maintenance and repairing has to be kept only for 5 years, the data is limited for the BTL project which has a maintenance period of 20 years. Thus, this study developed a new model to expand 5 years' data to the period of 20 years. This proposed model is expected to contribute in the maintenance and repairing of the BTL project.

For ultra-pure water, the removal of various impirities is required, and the requirement level is rising year by year. To cope with this problem, various removing technologies and system technologies have been developed and the introduction of new materials for the piping, etc. to form the system have been positively made. For the element technologies to be used for ultra-pure water production, their range will be expanded from the technological and economic viewpoints. Therefore, it is absolutely necessary to develop trace analysis evaluation technologies for ultra-pure water. Especially to raise the analytical level of heavy metals and organic substances is important. It is also important to establish individual analysis methods of organic substances. It is expected that the analytical methods will be established and new treating methods will be put to practical use in the near future.

This year korea power system had recorded highest peak load for 6 times and finally it made new peak load 51,264MW at July 29th 3:00 PM. The new peak load is increased 8.2% from the last year peak load 47,385MW and korea power system entered 50,000MW load era. The Korea Power Exchange (KPX) snapped power system data at the peak load time using state estimation function in the EMS. And authors converted the power system data at peak load to PSS/E power flow format. Using this PSS/E peak load power flow data, this paper explains demand analysis result shun capacitor operation, voltage distribution at the peak load. And the paper shows the simulation result of 2 contingency analysis using the snapped PSS/E peak load data.

This paper presents of thermal performance analysis by using mathematical models for a compound parabolic collector (CPC) system employing heat storage tank. The thermal performance including insolation energy, heat loss from collector system, useful energy, collector efficiency, and temperature of storage tank were theoretically investigated through a year using monthly-average meteorological data at Seoul. The simulated results showed that the CPC systems are suitable for the applications of higher temperature than flat plate collector (FPC) systems.
