  • Background: The decreased expression of mu-opioid receptors (MOR) in the amygdala may be a key molecular in chronic post-surgical pain (CPSP). It is known that miR-339-5p expression in the amygdala of a stressed rat model was increased. Analyzed by RNAhybrid, miR-339-5p could target opioid receptor mu 1 (oprm1) which codes MOR directly. So, the authors hypothesized that miR-339-5p could regulate the expression of MOR via targeting oprm1 and cause the effects to CPSP. Methods: To simulate perioperative short-term stress, a perioperative stress prolongs incision-induced pain hypersensitivity without changing basal pain perception rat model was built. A pmiR-RB-REPORTTM dual luciferase assay was taken to verify whether miR-339-5p could act on oprm1 as a target. The serum glucocorticoid level of rats was test. Differential expressions of MOR, GFAP, and pERK1/2 in each group of the rats' amygdala were tested, and the expressions of miR-339-5p in each group of rats' amygdalas were also measured. Results: Perioperative stress prolonged the recovery time of incision pain. The expression of MOR was down-regulated in the amygdala of rats in stress + incision (S + IN) group significantly compared with other groups (P < 0.050). miR-339-5p was up-regulated in the amygdala of rats in group S + IN significantly compared with other groups (P < 0.050). miR-339-5p acts on oprm1 3'UTR and take MOR mRNA as a target. Conclusions: Perioperative stress could increase the expression of miR-339-5p, and miR-339-5p could cause the expression of MOR to decrease via targeting oprm1. This regulatory pathway maybe an important molecular mechanism of CPSP.

  • This paper is an attempt to discuss the history and the current state of 'SF theaters.' SF theater is still an unfamiliar genre to the public, and may surprise some, given that the stage is perceived as an insufficient space for stretching the scientific imagination. Since 2010 works that bring the scientific imagination into the theater have frequently been performed, and a recognition of SF theaters began to be established. Producers came to be absorbed in human psychology, and our isolation amidst the progress in technology, as well as in the absurdities of the world, while giving up the ideal of realistic descriptions. This became the foundation for SF theaters in South Korea today. Starting from the research history and the conceptual change in SF theaters, this study examined the status of SF dramas going back to the colonial period for SF theaters. Through inquiring into the history of SF theaters, we were able to derive the following implications and problems. Firstly, as they are based on future society or technical improvement without consideration of scientific probability or rationality, the scientific imagination is too absent for the work to be named 'SF theater.' Secondly, while being highly evaluated as an attempt to integrate science and stage in an era that emphasizes convergence, when we delve into the creativity of a material it is noticeable that the view of the world is still regressive. Thirdly, there are many cases in which scripts lean on SF classics or Japanese original works. Nevertheless, if young creators' diverse attempts in a genre can breathe with the contemporary audience desiring a new material, the foundation of a Korean-style SF theater may be expanded to include more significant work.

  • As the need for more variety of interactive media grows, alternative interaction methods beyond conventional ones such as mice and keyboards are vigorously explored recently. In particular, these new approaches are getting attentions because they can enhance the user experiences in the interaction. Howerver, since they are case-dependent and specific, it still becomes crucial to consider and evaluate the effects and possibilities of interactions. The study aims to explore the ways to design the interactions by applying Behavioral Prototyping Methods in the initial stage of design development, which it calls 'Interactive Prototyping Method'. With the case project, 'Shadow Theater', which is an interactive installation for children, children can play and participate in interactive story-making by wearing hand puppets, casting shadows of hand puppets, and interacting with virtual objects on screen. To explore and design the interactions of Shadow Theater at the initial design process, the study builds an interactive prototype which borrows puppet theater settings and lets children play with hand puppets and other objects. The session of user try-outs with the prototype help to understand what and how they interact with virtual objects, and to improve the interactions.

  • The deterministic modeling techniques like Zone model and Field model are mainly used for thermal distribution and smoke flow at fire case in multi use facilities. While Zone model analyse fire simulation by dividing spaces by 2 section, the Field model dividing many cells. However, the difficultly follows to prove efficiency between the two models when it applys. Therefore new modeling development is required which in closes to real situation by verify number algorithm and related data for fire modeling. The paper analyses the efficiency of two different fire modeling at interior spaces of multiplex cinema theater. It is found that the zone model for average distribution and the field model for detail space phenomenon are relevant to apply. Also, Filed model is useful to the result that fire analysis and position of detector and review for smoke control system.

  • This research was studied in regard to theatre perspective and the directing methods of the 'Theater Duke Georg II.', the ruler of the Duchy of Saxe-Meiningen in modern Germany, in his contemporary context based on the Meininger Principle. He was a theatre-cultural politician, producer and a regisseur, who used theatre as purposive media to arbitrate domestic and international reality and enhance national prestige. Especially as a regisseur, he established directing principles and methods which was performing the original texts representing playwright's perspective targeting to creat theatre as synthesis of the arts at Meningen Company. It was innovative thing itself which was that his directing art was accompanied by new theatrical aesthetics, practical principles, and staged process. He established independence and originality of directing which was breakthrough of modern stage-director's theatre. Furthermore he layed a foundation for the development of the modern and contemporary director's theatre.

  • As dance performances in the theater space are centered on text, they have plots and make characters stand out. They also emphasize expressivity and technique, and their recognition of space is very modern and typical of dichotomous Cartesian thinking. The museum space has many similarities with the theater space in that it is a result of modernity and granted authority to present arts. The performances in museums place value more on the presence than on the representation. For this reason, works in museums, which are frequently presented in recent years, are mainly works of site-specific or performative concepts. Now, rather than being able to obtain from aesthetics defined as works, the museum is assured its own aesthetic production and justification, paying attention to the performance as an event occurring now and here.

  • The whole world was confused, unintended "COVID-19". It has become a constant phenomenon, not a temporary one, and people are getting used to this era. Among them, We are combating the form of "the film" which is playing a role of a multiplex in Korean film industry. Now we have studied the development of the future korean industry based on the movie theater form through our cultural industry, New platform OTT. As a result for the research, the OTT platform, which is located in one genre today, should be regarded as an opportunity to develop films, and the movie theater, which is a part of the development of the film industry, differs from the OTT platform. with "memory of space", the result was that "The audience's footsteps can move again." The crisis of "COVID-19" should bring about the consequences of turning into opportunity.

  • Entry of women into the higher positions or professions in the fields of entertainment and performing arts has been expanding gradually. Especially, women working in these fields in New York show a dynamic growth and development. As a result, women surviving in a male-dominated world have raised their voices for their human rights to live free from violence, sexuality, slavery, discrimination, etc.. In the entertainment and performing arts, women have been shouting their voices for a long time through the theme, performance process, and the shows. Their voices influenced politics, society, and culture as a whole. The 'MeToo' movement is the result of condensation from their voices. In other words, it is the result of women's voices against sexual harassment or assault in these fields. Starting in Hollywood, the 'MeToo' movement was rapidly spread out online and strongly supported by female leaders and activists in the world. It had a strong influence on the fields of theater and entertainment industry in Korea as well. By recognizing this phenomenon, the contents of this study suggest how and what to continuously increase the value of the 'MeToo' movement in Korea's entertainment industry.

  • The purpose of this thesis is to introduce the alternative method of the new training program for film acting and directing. Recently in Korea, acting in movies has become a trend and broadcasting still depicts reality. But men of the theater is usually privileged getting the most acting education offered by the theater training program. They also is hardly teach about acting's directing for film directors. So I thought of establishing a new training program for film acting and acting's directing. I made two short films , that I had practical training program for film acting as practical text. This program applied partially 'Atude' that Stanislavsky devised for theater acting practice, and referred to 'Method Acting System' that Lee Strasberg made for film acting at the Actors Studio. Another main point of this program is camera use. That training program can be attended not only by actors but also by director and film staff. Through this thesis, I wish to prove my new training program for film acting and acting directing. The focus of this training is to target a better execution according to the group you belong to whether amateur group, associate professionals, professional actors.
