  • The study seeks to identify factors affecting the choice of a university by first-year Business Administration students in Vietnam. Probability sampling is using Stratified sampling of 500 students from five private universities in Ho Chi Minh City surveyed by convenience sampling. This paper employs mixed research methods - measuring Cronbach's Alpha, EFA, Regression and using PATH model - to test the hypotheses of the research model. The results of the study identify five factors: Prestige, Geographical location, Facilities, Attractiveness of the field and Media. All these factors have a positive influence on the standing of the university brand. It means that the higher the Prestige, Geographical location, Facilities, Attractiveness of the field and Media, the higher the university brand. The results indicate that Geographical location is the most influential factor to enhance the private university's brand. Bringing Geographical location is, thus, advisable to enhance a university standing. The brand plays a determining role in students' trust when selecting a university. Media is still the top concern of new students when they choose to study at a university. Media still remains an important consideration for new students when choosing a university. So, this factor should be utilized by universities to enhance their attractiveness.

Between July, 2001 and August, 2001, by mail 103 schools were surveyed to analyzed menu. Menu from 2001 survey are compared with menu from 1995 survey. The results are following; 1) New menus are introduced in 2001 compared with 1995. 2) The number of menu using animal foods are increasing in 2001. 3) Among cooking methods, stir frying, and deep frying, are used more in 2001 than that of 1995. 4) The number of Korean dish served are decreased in 2001. 5) Students favorite dish are changed. Students like dishes cooked with deep frying method and western foods. With these results, menu of school food services become more westernized and using more frying methods because of students' taste preference. These trend are not recommendable for the students health, because it is known that Korean traditional dishes are more healthful. There should be more research and effort to keep Korean tranditional foods in the menu of the school food service for students health.

  • Hypertext raises question to general assumptions about our conventional conceptions of education. In this essay, three kinds of learning-models are presented by the application of "writing" hypertext literature to the English education of the elementary school. These models, which I call the "scene-centered" system, give knowledge to learners in non-linear, non-sequential structure. The term "scene" is a single concept or idea composed of a single sub-text, which is to be made by the group of students. This system is focused on the collaborative composition of students. Students, by generating sub-texts and connecting texts, perform the educational activities to expand the source text. The "scene-centered" system is, to put it into a Barte's term, a "writerly text." But in order to "write," "reading" should be accompanied. So, this system is a learning model in which writing and reading are carried on simultaneously. In all the process, students play a role of multi-user, with three access rights: read, write, and annotate. So, students making use of hypertext systems will act as reader-authors. And teachers will take the new role in collaborative writing environment. No longer the central authoritarian evaluator, they will become consultants, co-writers, coaches of their students.

  • Software education is inevitable for the success of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and university education also requires innovation to cope with revolutionary change of the society. The number of students seeking employment in the IT field is steadily increasing regardless of the major of the student. However, the existing software-related courses offered by universities or private educational institutions are limited. This paper analyzes the existing software curriculum of several major universities for non-IT major students. In addition, in-depth surveys by students at Seoul Theological University is conducted to figure out the demand for the advanced level computer science subjects. Finally, new software education curriculum is proposed to fulfill the needs of non-IT major students and to improve the employment rate of non-IT major students seeking tech companies. The new curriculum will help to cultivate intermediate level IT experts that bridge the gap between advanced level IT experts and primitive level computer technicians.

  • Current medical students are a distinct new generation who can be distinguished from the previous generation. Therefore, a clear understanding of their characteristics is vital in developing an appropriate educational program for them. The purpose of this article is to explore the characteristics of the current generation of high achieving medical students. Notable characteristics that define this generation include the following: they feel they are special, and they are sheltered, confident, highly optimistic, pressured, conventional, and have a strong desire to achieve. They are the digital generation, who can obtain information through various forms of technology. Furthermore, they are high achieving students in highly competitive educational environments. It has been suggested that various teaching methods be used in the medical school classroom. Using digital methods could be crucial in providing high-quality medical education. Educators should pay more attention to students' psychosocial development and help them to effectively cope with their academic stress.

From 1963 to 2001, education schools which has department physical therapy is 34 colleges or universities, graduate students is 2,000 persons. In order to competition non-disabled students, we need a strategic plan for specialize of disabled person in physical therapy at college. Therefore our study suggest a new physical therapy program for disabled students ; that is educated and trained student intensively to be a specialized physical therapist by disability pattern in college. • The open approach to teaching school mathematics in the United States is an outcome of the collaboration of Japanese and U. S. researchers. We examine the approach by illustrating its three aspects: 1) Open process (there is more than one way to arrive at the solution to a problem; 2) Open-ended problems (a problem can have several of many correct answers), and 3) What the Japanese call 'from problem to problem' or problem formulation (students draw on their own thinking to formulate new problems). Using our understanding of the Japanese open approach to teaching mathematics, we adapt selected methods to teach mathematics more effectively in the United States. Much of this approach is new to U. S. mathematics teachers, in that it has teachers working together in groups on lesson plans, and through a series of discussions and revisions, results in a greatly improved, effective plan. It also has teachers actively observing individual students or groups of students as they work on a problem, and then later comparing and discussing the students' work.

  • To develop a master plan of a university campus, we need to know how students view and use their campus. For this purpose, the well-known Linch's(1960) cognitive mapping methods are used to figure out the image of Yonsei University and its surrounding area which is perceived by the students of Yonsei University. Major findings are that the cognition levels for the edge which divides Yonsei University from the surroundings and the paths which the students commute along are relatively high. The students mainly use campus space near the main gate rather than the space deep inside of the university, which shows they use the campus space unevenly. Therefore, when considering a new master plan of Yonsei University, it is needed to develop methods which increase the even use of the campus space such as developing new commuting paths.

  • As the environmental industry grew bigger and bigger, the corcern about environmental condition increased and the demand of environmental expert tended to be much more increased. A lot of universities therefore established environment-related departments on campuses and ended up with producing numerous students every single year. However, some problems such as followings were in this study. First, the industry cannot adopt all the students directly from universities due to their low capabilities in environment affairs. Second, the universities yield much more students than the industry can actually adopt. In order to yield the appropriate students meeting the expectation of the industry, it is necessary to permit no more new department established on campus and to adopt new environmental field such as environmental management, eco-auditing and also 3+1 lecture system focused on real affairs.
