COMPUTING THE HAUSDORFF DISTANCE BETWEEN TWO SETS OF PARAMETRIC CURVES

  • We present an algorithm for computing the Hausdorff distance between two parametric curves in $\mathbb{R}^n$, or more generally between two sets of parametric curves in $\mathbb{R}^n$. During repeated subdivision of the parameter space, we prune subintervals that cannot contain an optimal point. Typically, our algorithm costs O(logM) operations, compared with O(M) operations for a direct, brute-force method, to achieve an accuracy of $O(M^{-1})$.

An Extension of Unified Bayesian Tikhonov Regularization Method and Application to Image Restoration (통합 베이즈 티코노프 정규화 방법의 확장과 영상복원에 대한 응용)

  • This paper suggests an extension of the unified Bayesian Tikhonov regularization method. The unified method establishes the relationship between Tikhonov regularization parameter and Bayesian hyper-parameters, and presents a formula for obtaining the regularization parameter using the maximum posterior probability and the evidence framework. When the dimension of the data matrix is m by n (m >= n), we derive that the total misfit has the range of m ± n instead of m. Thus the search range is extended from one to 2n + 1 integer points. Golden section search rather than linear one is applied to reduce the time. A new benchmark for optimizing relative error and new model selection criteria to target it are suggested. The experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed method in the image restoration problem.

  • 일반적으로 결정질 실리콘 태양전지에서는 junction depth가 얕아짐으로써 단파장 영역에서의 수집효율이 향상되고 Jsc가 상승하기 때문에 junction depth가 얕은 것이 좋다. 또, 태양전지의 효율을 높이기 위해서는 낮은 재결합 속도가 필요한데 이를 위해서도 얕은 junction depth가 필요하다. 하지만 junction depth가 너무 얕으면 FF와 Voc가 낮아져 효율이 떨어지므로 junction depth를 최적화 할 필요가 있다. 본 논문에서는 PC1D 시뮬레이션을 사용하여 표면 농도를 고정시키고 junction depth를 가변하면서 이에 따른 cell의 parameter변화를 관찰하였다. 그 결과, 면저항 $120{\Omega}/{\square}$에서부터 효율이 saturation되었고, 그에 따른 parameter 값은 FF=76.28%, Jsc=$38.17mA/cm^2$, Voc=596.5V이며 junction depth가 $0.1726{\mu}m$일 때 효율은 17.37%이다.

  • In this paper, the response characteristics of organic gases were investigated by using quartz crystal microbalance(Q.C.M) with different polymeric sensitive materials. The new linear parameter was discussed in order to develope gas sensing system using neural network and pattern recognition. We analyzed the response characteristics by the area of resonant frequency shift of quartz crystal, which mean affinities of organic gases for polymeric sensitive firm. The experimental results shows that the parameter made by the area of frequency shift which was linear with injection amount of organic gases has possibility to be used for pattern recognition and neural network. And they have different normalized pattern.

A Study on the Design Parameters of the PSC I-Type Girders for Long Span Bridges (장지간 교량을 위한 PSC-I형 거더의 단면 설계변수 연구)

  • In order to resolve the problem of increasing traffic entailed by the economic development, road system is reorganization and new highways are built, and long span bridges over 40m are being constructed in environmental and aesthetic considerations. Most long span bridges that are currently being constructed are in general steel box girder and preflex girder bridges; however these types of breiges are less efficiency than PSC I-type girder bridges in terms of construction cost and maintenance. Therefore, in these study, structural efficiency of PSC I-type girders based on section parameters, concrete compressive strength and other design parameter is observed to develope new PSC I-type girder for long span bridges. As a results of analysis, most important design parameters that control the stress of the girder are found to be the top flange width and the height of girder. In this light, the relationship between the two variables is determined and cross-section details of the girder that most appropriates for the long span bridges are proposed. The use of high strength concrete appears to increase the general design span however the increase rate of the span from increasing concrete ultimate strength appears to be reduced depending on the span. Also, the optimal girder spacing is determined through the parameter studies of design span using the proposed girder.

  • In this paper, a new method for finding the approximate solution of a second order nonlinear partial differential equation is introduced. In this method the problem is transformed to an equivalent optimization problem. them , by considering it as a distributed parameter control system the theory of measure is used for obtaining the approximate solution of the original problem.

  • In this paper, a new approach for finding the approximate solution of the Stokes problem is introduced. In this method the problem is transformed to an equivalent optimization problem. Then, by considering it as a distributed parameter control system, the theory of measure is used to approximate values of pressure are obtained by a finite difference scheme.
