  • Camellia tuyenquangensis (Theaceae), a new yellow species of camellia from the Chiem Hoa district of the Tuyen Quang province in Vietnam, is described and illustrated. Camellia tuyenquangensis is similar to Camellia luongii but different from the latter species in several morphological features: leaves oblong-ovate to narrow elliptic; flowers 1-2; bracteoles glabrous on both sides; sepal margins ciliate; style cleft one half of the length. The morphological data provisionally support its placement in Camellia sect. Chrysantha Chang.

  • Port Authority System has been regarded as one of the most efficient ways of port administration. The Korean government is now planning to setup PA system in Busan. Busan New Port is located in Kadok Island the ownership of which Busan City and Kyongnam Province have partly of jointly. So The new PA system is expected to have many complicated problems between Busan City and Kyongnam Province in many aspects. The purpose of this paper is to provide an empirical methodology about the best approach to these problems using AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process).

  • Korea is aging rapidly and unprecedentedly in the world, and the social burden is prospected to be increased rapidly. New business start-up in blue ocean area is boomed in Korea, because sedulousness of people and high household saving rate which are basis of the economic development are getting lower, and propensity of the consumption and debt in household are getting higher. This article is refers that what is success factors of new business start-up in blue ocean through investigating the theoretical concept and the success cases. As a result, the success factors of new business start-up are categorized as environmental factors, strategical factors, organizational factors, personal factors, and factors of growing-up stages. In order not only to identify the success factors, but also to avoid failure, it is important that the basic principle should be followed ; Specifying the objectives, Balancing the fund, Meeting good biz-partners, Analysis of the market and Advice of the experts.

  • Air Rights techniques, including floor-area ratio (FAR) transfers, FAR bonuses, and FAR storage, have been widely applied among skyscraper constructions in New York City for profit maximization goals. Since 1916, air rights regulations in New York zoning system have been revised and improved over the years to cater the urban development needs of different periods, and they also result in typical skyscraper block typologies. This research firstly performed spatial overlay analysis to reveal the spatial correlation between skyscraper blocks and air rights application blocks; secondly, Spacematrix parameters and cluster analysis are applied to divide the skyscraper urban block of New York City into four categories. Compared with air rights application data, the research attempts to illustrate how various air rights techniques have acted on the formation and evolution of skyscraper block typologies in the pre-1916, 1916-1961, 1961-2010, and 2010-present periods respectively, in order to reveal the relationship between public policies and urban morphology in a broader sense and also provide references for policy making in future.

  • While economic incentives have led to migration, the failure to adapt to a new city and to ease the financial burden to support families have raised migrants' intention to return to their hometowns. Using the 2016 China Migrants Dynamic Survey, this study investigates determinants of migrants' intention to return. Migration at a young age, which is associated with lower barriers to the new culture, and intraprovince migration requiring less effort to adapt to the new city, were associated with lower intention to return. Also, migrants with less burden to support a family tend to have a higher intention to return to rural hometowns. Specifically, migrants with children over 18 years old and fewer family members are likely to return to their hometowns. To revitalize rural economy and reduce the rural-urban disparity, a policy to support migrants with high intention to return will be needed.

  • The international society under the internet technology have been declining boundaries of the global economy. After this step, a social revolution will be happen from the ubiquitous technology which fives objects intelligence to serve people. And then it is expected that every part of a city competitive power is defined by both in qualify and in quantify of the ubiquitous information unit in the future. On this score, now each nation is trying to set relative services and broadband networks to lead the ubiquitous industry. Therefore this paper analyzed about the progress and prospect of a local U-city plan in our nation Especially we propose a new city development model which use U-city and self-communication network to Improve a city competitive power.

  • Culture is an indispensable element in modern society in improving the quality of life for city dwellers and stimulating the urbanization. The conspicuous emergence of cultural cities, which is a new paradigm, can be understood in that context. Global cities are pursuing cultural cities, and autonomous regions in Korea are also pushing ahead with the urbanization which combines cultural elements. Specifically, Nam-gu of Incheon has set an example of successful cultural city for other autonomous regions. The cultural environmental policy of Nam-gu is deemed to have retained the infrastructure, cultural urban landscape and living space, and a plenty of contents. The real significance of cultural city lies in the pursuit of sustainable urban development as a culture-friendly city. For that, the direction of cultural environmental city has to be firmly set, and related law and system should be strengthened. Above all, it is critical to pursue human-oriented cultural city by showing citizens what roles they have to play, setting the right direction, and improving the partnership.

  • The adoption of ubiquitous technologies is increasing for the realization of new effective u-City services. u-City is defined as a next-generation informatization city that can innovate a city's various functions, such as improving the welfare of the citizenry, ensuring safety based on systematic urban management, improving the quality of lives, and increasing convenience in city life, by merging cutting-edge information and telecommunication infrastructures and ubiquitous information services with urban space. There is therefore a need to recognize that a successful u-City implementation strategy involves developing the previous UIS into a ubiquitous technology-based UIS and integrating UIS's various urban informations with effective u-City services. In this paper, for UIS-based u-City implementation, the intelligent integration model of urban spatial information based on interoperability is proposed.

  • SOA (Service-Oriented Architecture), which has become very popular recently, is a new paradigm for software development and application. In this paper, we propose an integrated architecture which is able to effectively manage and control a variety of services for U-City projects focusing on the importance of service integration. SOA has a number of important features such as loose coupling, standard bases, and distributed computing, all of which are the essential elements for merging and providing various services in U-City projects. We exploit the ESB (Enterprise Service Bus) for reflecting those features, which is a core module linking mutually heterogeneous components so that the communication of services can be implemented. In this paper, we discuss the necessity of SOA in U-City services and a possible scenario and method for the implementation. Finally, we propose an integrated architecture for the U-City Integration and Management Center.
