Recently, various proposals for supporting network mobility, which provides efficient Internet access when a network formed within a vehicle moves around as a unit, have emerged. The schemes in those proposals, though, manifest some major drawbacks with respect to scalability: If the number of mobile nodes within a mobile network is large, the handoff latency would increase greatly, causing communication disruption; Data delivery to a node within a nested mobile network nay suffer extremely inefficient pinball routing. We propose a scalable network mobility supporting mechanism named SNEMOS (Scalable NEtwork Mobility Support), which resolves the above two major problems of the existing schemes. The performance of SNEMOS is compared with the existing schemes through extensive simulations. The numerical results show that SNEMOS outperforms the existing schemes with respect to handoff latency hop counts of routing paths, packet delivery time, header overhead in data packets, and signaling overhead.

SDN(Softeware Defined Networking) has emerged to address the rapidly growing demand for cloud computing and to support network virtualization services. Therefor many companies and organizations have taken SDN as a next-generation network technology. However, unlike the wired network where the SDN is originally designed, the SDN in the wireless network has a restriction that it can not provide the mobility of the node. In this paper, we extended existing openflow protocol of SDN and developed SDN-based network platform, which enables the SDN controller to manage the radio resources of its network and support the mobility of the nodes. The mobility support function of this paper has the advantage that a node in the network can move using its two or more wireless interfaces by using the radio resource management function of the SDN controller. In order to test the functions implemented in this paper, we measured parameters related to various transmission performance according to various mobile experiments, and compared parameters related to performance using one wireless interface and two interfaces. The SDN-based network platform proposed in this paper is expected to be able to monitor the resources of wireless networks and support the mobility of nodes in the SDN environment.
The study for ubiquitous computing infra is proceeding actively, it make possible to use service and access network anywhere, anytime because of wire/wireless communication technology and progress of hardware. Domestically, study for the network mobility support technology which is the key technology for future ubiquitous computing realization have progressed, but that is Insufficient. Especially, there is no study for independent mobility support study about railway wireless network. So, this study propose network mobility management technology for mobile network infra in railway and proper network model in train.

Currently in a Ubiquitous Sensor Network (USN) research field, supporting mobility is recognized as an important technology. MIPv6 and Network Mobility(NEMO) Basic Support Protocol are standard protocols to support mobility in the Internet. However, if they are applied to USN with no modification, handoff performance decreases due to the size of their binding message. An existing lightweight protocol for NEMO protocol has a compatibility problem of Sequence Num. and does not optimally compress binding messages considering 6LoWPAN network structure and addressing. This paper proposes optimal header compression which supports node-based mobility and network-based mobility. Our optimal compression technique compresses a 32bytes binding update(BU) message and a 12bytes binding ACK(BA) message of MIPv6 into 13bytes and 3bytes, and a 40bytes BU message and a 12bytes BA message of NEMO protocol into 13bytes and 3bytes. The result shows that our protocol compresses 15bytes (NEMO-BU) and 1byte (NEMO-BA) more than the existing protocol and achieves 8.72% handoff performance improvement.

When the Mobile IP is applied for mobility management protocol in the next-generation mobile communication networks, it can cause a serious performance degradation called micro-mobility problem. In this paper, we propose ANMM(Access Network Mobility Management) to efficiently support micro-mobility in the IP-based wireless access network. The ANMM scheme can reduce the handoff latency and signaling overhead resulting in performance enhancement by managing the mobility of mobile nodes within access network.
In this paper, we propose an efficient Care of Address (CoA) configuration scheme for network mobility support in the railroad environment. Mobile routers in a train visit each access router in the fixed order. Such regular movement characteristic of a train enables a current subnet access router to inform the next subnet access router of the mobile routers' interface identifiers before the mobile routers move to the next subnet access router. So, the next subnet access router can make care of addresses for the mobile routers in advance. The numerical results show that the proposed scheme outperforms the stateless scheme with respect to CoA configuration time.

The number of mobile devices roaming into a ubiquitous city (u-city) continues to rise as wireless systems have been widely deployed. The number of mobile devices also varies with time, and they tend to frequently change their locations. In addition, the available wireless access networks may belong to different domains, administrations, management, and internet service providers (ISPs). A fusion of overlapping heterogeneous wireless access networks (e.g., WiMax, Wi-Fi, LTE, etc.) serves the u-city in order to reach different coverage. In this context, technical challenges arise in mobility management for heterogeneous networks to realize their potential coverage and capacity benefits. This paper deals with the analysis of a decentralized mobility management support for u-City wireless network infrastructure. This scheme takes advantage of the features of the fully-distributed model of networked-based mobility management protocol to alleviate and realize the ubiquitous requirements of a u-City.
Recently, due to the rapid development of the internet, the production and demand of high capacity contents are rapidly increasing. In order to accommodate the changing trend of internet usage, researches on CCN, the future internet architecture, are actively being conducted. Mobility support is an important challenge in CCN real-time services, given that today's internet environment is changing to mobile and real-time services are increasing. In CCN real-time services, the mobility problem can be largely divided into consumer mobility, provider mobility, and intermediate-node mobility. Among them, when the intermediate-node moves in the CCN real-time services, the service disconnection occurs and the QoS degradation is caused. In this paper. we propose Intermediate-Node Mobility Support(INMS) to support the intermediate-node mobility in CCN real-time services. Experimental results show that the proposed scheme shows better performance than CCN in terms of service disconnection time and packet loss.
The Network Mobility (NEMO) and IPv6 over Low power WPAN (6LoWPAN) protocols are the two most important technologies in current networking research and are vital for the future ubiquitous environment. In this paper, we propose a compressed packet header format to support the mobility of 6LoWPAN. Also, a Lightweight NEMO protocol is proposed to minimize the signaling overhead between 6LoWPAN mobile routers and 6LoWPAN gateways by using a compressed mobility header. Performance results show that our Lightweight NEMO protocol can minimize total signaling costs and handoff signaling delay.

Mobile IP protocol introduced in RFC3344 provides a node of the mobility service through IP tunneling mechanism in the IP networks. In this paper, we describe a method to provide a mobility service for VPN(Virtual Private Network) nodes on the MPLS(Multiprotocol Label Switching) network. The MPLS VPN considered here is based on "BGP/MPLS VPNs" presented in RFC2547. PE(Provider′s Edge) routers, which are able to provide VPN services on the MPLS network, are associated with mobility agents to support Mobile IP This proposed mechanism applies when a VPN node moves to other site of the same VPN, or when it moves to other site of a different VPN, or to the ordinary Internet site. We implemented this mechanism in PE routers and analyzed the performance of the MPLS VPN with mobility support on the testbed.
