  • Recently, most mobile nodes, such as smartphones, will have multiple wireless radio interfaces. This feature allows a mobile node to access a multi-network through multiple wireless radio interfaces simultaneously. Accordingly, various networking technology has been studied to use wireless multi-interface more efficiently. In this paper, MPTCP based handover scheme is proposed to reduce data loss and end-to-end latency during the handover in PMIPv6 domain. The proposed scheme performs 2-step flow mobility on the multi-path established through the multi-interface of mobile node in the handover procedure and uses MPTCP subflow function to overcome end-to-end disconnection during the handover. Therefore, the proposed scheme takes the advantage of being able to minimize data loss and a latency generated during performing the handover of mobile node.

  • Data fusion techniques combine data from multiple radars and related information to achieve more accurate estimations than could be achieved by a single, independent radar. In this paper, we analyze delay and loss of packets to be processed by multiple radar and minimize data processing interval from centralized data processing operation as fusing multiple radar data. Therefore, we model radar network about central data fusion, and analyze delay and loss of packets inside queues on assuming queues respectively as the M/M/1/K using NS-2. We confirmed average delay time, processing fused multiple radar data, through the analysis data. And then, this delay time can be used as a reference time for radar data latency in fusion center.

  • With the rapid development of heterogeneous emerging wireless technologies and numerous types of mobile devices, the need to support robust mobile video streaming based on the seamless handover in Future Internet is growing. To support the seamless handover, several IP-based mobility management protocols such as Mobile IPv6 (MIPv6), fast handover for the MIPv6 (FMIPv6), Hierarchical MIPv6 (HMIPv6) and Proxy Mobile IPv6 (PMIPv6) were developed. However, MIPv6 depreciates the Quality-of-Service (QoS) and FMIPv6 is not robust for the video services in heterogeneous emerging wireless networks when the Mobile Node (MN) may move to another visited network in contrast with its anticipation. In Future Internet, the possibility of mobile video service failure is more increased because mobile users consisting of multiple wireless network interfaces (WNICs) can frequently change the access networks according to their mobility in heterogeneous wireless access networks such as 3Generation (3G), Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi), Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMax) and Bluetooth co-existed. And in this environment, seamless mobility is coupled according to user preferences, enabling mobile users to be "Always Best Connected" (ABC) so that Quality of Experience is optimised and maintained. Even though HMIPv6 and PMIPv6 are proposed for the location management, handover latency enhancement, they still have limit of local mobility region. In this paper, we propose a robust mobile video streaming in Heterogeneous Emerging Wireless Systems. In the proposed scheme, the MN selects the best-according to an appropriate metric-wireless technology for a robust video streaming service among all wireless technologies by reducing the handover latency and initiation time when handover may fail. Through performance evaluation, we show that our scheme provides more robust mechanism than other schemes.

  • A typical VOD service allows that a number of remote clients playback a desired video from a large collection of videos stored in one or more video servers. The main bottleneck for a VOD service is the network bandwidth connecting to the VOD server to the client due to the high bandwidth requirements. Many previous researches have shown that VOD server can be greatly improved through the use of multicast, broadcast, or P2P scheme. Broadcast is one of the most efficient techniques because it can transmit a stream to many users without additional network bandwidth. But the broadcast has long latency time. In order to overcome the drawback, in this paper, we propose P2Prefix broadcast scheme that can solve the service latency time, which is the problem of broadcast scheme, by using P2P caching as well as minimizing the client buffer requirement.

  • Multicast Strategy is one of the cost-saving methods in the large scale VOD environment. However, it does involve complicated problems to implement VCR-like interactions for user's convenience in the multicast streaming system under considering the limited-server and the network's bandwidth in the multicast-transmission system. Therefore, the proper solution of settling such a problem is necessary. Thus, this paper which revised P2Patching[l] proposes LGST(Level Group Streaming Technique) which supports the VCR's function through cooperation among peers with heterogeneous bandwidth under the environment of P2P. This strategy can reduce latency by improving the acceptance of server and using the bandwidth of network efficiently. And for evaluate the proposed scheme's performance, I simulated the performance of streaming delivery topology and streaming quality in comparison with P2Patching. In evaluation to service request refusal ratio and service quality according to bandwidth decrement, the result of simulation shows that proposed LGST improves about $11{\sim}18%$ of performance than P2Patching. In the test of latency recovery according to fault probability and influence of VCR function operation duration, it shows similar performance.

  • The future of communication systems is expected to combine with the terrestrial and satellite networks. A commonality between wireless interfaces is important consideration for cost of user equipment in the integrated satellite and the terrestrial system. Because IMT-Advanced system take into account LTE based on the terrestrial system for the next generation of communication, a study of the LTE-based satellite system is especially required. A frame of the existing terrestrial wireless networks is designed to use for a random access up to the maximum cell radius of 100 km. However, the random access scheme for the terrestrial system cannot be used in the satellite system, because the satellite systems generally have large coverage than the terrestrial system. Therefore, we propose that the efficient random access procedure to reduce latency and complexity for the satellite system maintaining commonality with the terrestrial system in this paper.

  • The directory-based cache coherence scheme is an attractive approach to solve the caceh coherence problem in a large-scale shared-memory multiprocessor. However, the exsting directory-based schemes have some problens such as the enormous storage overhead for a directory, the long invalidation latency, the heavy network condes-tion, and the low scalability. For resolving these problems, we propose a new directroy- based caceh coherence scheme which is suitable for building scalable, shred-memory multiprocessors. In this scheme, each directory en-try ofr a given memory block is a number-balanced binaty tree(NBBT) stucture. The NBBT has several proper-ties to effciently maintain the directory for the cache consistency such that the shape is unique, the maximum depth is [log$_2$n], and the tree has the minimum number of leaf nodes among the binarry tree with n nodes. Therefore, this scheme can reduce the storage overhead, the network traffic, and the inbalidation latency and can ensutr the high- scalability the large-scale shared-memory multiprocessors.

  • PMIPv6 is a network-based mobility support scheme, proposed and standardized by NetLMM WG of IETF. It is proposed to solve problems of conventional mobility schemes, and to improve inefficiency of those. The standard document describes network components and detailed procedures to provide mobility to MN. But it describes only a handover procedure between MAGs, not between LMAs. In order to support seamless connectivity of MN efficiently, a handover procedure between LMAs is necessary. The proposed scheme in this paper utilizes a route optimization procedure to prevent inefficiency of inter-LMA tunneling scheme. At the same time, the proposed scheme utilizes a pre-authentication scheme to reduce handover latency. According to the result of performance evaluations, the proposed scheme greatly reduces handover latency, compared to conventional mobility support schemes.

  • The performance of a PC cluster system is limited by the use of traditional communication protocols, such as TCP/IP because these protocols are accompanied with significant software overheads. To overcome the problem, systems based on user-level interface for message passing without intervention of kernel have been developed. The VIA(Virtual Interface Architecture) is one of the representative user-level interfaces which provide low latency and high bandwidth. In this paper, a VIA system is implemented on an SCI(Scalable Coherent Interface) network based PC cluster. The system provides both message-passing and shared-memory programming environments and shows the maximum bandwidth of 84MB/s and the latency of $8{\mu}s$. The system also shows better performance in comparison with other comparable computer systems in carrying out parallel benchmark programs.

  • The deployment of 5G is in full swing, with a significant yearly growth in the data traffic expected to reach 26% by the year and data consumption to reach 122 EB per month by 2022 [10]. In parallel, the idea of smart cities has been implemented by various governments and private organizations. One of the main objectives of 5G deployment is to help develop and realize smart cities. 5G can support the enhanced data delivery requirements and the mass connection requirements of a smart city environment. However, for specific high-demanding applications like tactile Internet, transportation, and augmented reality, the cloud-based 5G infrastructure cannot deliver the required quality of services. We suggest using multi-access edge computing (MEC) technology for smart cities' environments to provide the necessary support. In cloud computing, the dependency on a central server for computation and storage adds extra cost in terms of higher latency. We present a few scenarios to demonstrate how the MEC, with its distributed architecture and closer proximity to the end nodes can significantly improve the quality of services by reducing the latency. This paper has surveyed the existing work in MEC for 5G and highlights various challenges and opportunities. Moreover, we propose a unique framework based on the use of MEC for 5G in a smart city environment. This framework works at multiple levels, where each level has its own defined functionalities. The proposed framework uses the MEC and introduces edge-sub levels to keep the computing infrastructure much closer to the end nodes.
