  • A method is described for ideally reconstructing the profile from a surface profiling measurement containing a reasonable amount of null measurement data. The proposed method can conjecture lost information and rectify irregular data that result due to bad measuring environments, signal transmission noise, or instrument-induced errors, The method adopts the concept of computer graphics and consists of several processing steps. First, a search for valid data in the neighborhood of the null data is performed. The valid data are then grouped and their contours are extracted. By analyzing these contours, a bounding box can be obtained and the general distribution of the entire area encompassing the valid and null data is determined Finally, an ideal surface model is overlaid onto the measurement results based on the bounding box, generating a complete reconstruction of the calculations, A surface-profiling task on a liquid crystal display photo spacer is used to verify the proposed method. The results are compared to those obtained through the use of a scanning electron microscope to demonstrate the accuracy of the proposed method.

  • The new Urban Park Regulation encourages local governments to introduce new types of urban parte such as historic parte, cultural parks and neighborhood parte. However ambiguity among those parks in terms of main facilities and providing recreational programs makes it difficult for local governments, as well as landscape designers and planners, to adopt this new regulations. In this light, the present study aims to search for park facilities and programs defined by the new regulations, in order to satisfy users' demands for those parks with consideration to parks' unique characteristics. For these purposes, a conjoint analysis was carried out with three hundreds participants. Sampled participants include the citizens of Seoul as well as current residents of Paju. The study results indicate that participants would like to have distinctive programs and facilities at these three new types of parks. However, no considerable differences were observed among the levels of programs and facilities participants wish to have, due to unfamiliarity with, in particular, cultural and historic parks. Despite this insignificant difference among attribute levels, study results clearly suggest that residents wold like to have new types of facilities and recreational programs.

  • The seniconductor, which is precision product, requires many inspection processes. The surface conditions of the semiconductor chip effect on the functions of the semiconductors. The defects of the chip surface is crack or void. Because general inspection method requires many inspection processes, the inspection system which searches immediately and preciselythe defects of the semiconductor chip surface. We propose the inspection method by using the computer vision system. This study presents an image processing algorithm for inspecting the surface defects(crack, void)of the semiconductor test samples. The proposed image processing algorithm aims to reduce inspection time, and to analyze those experienced operator. This paper regards the chip surface as random texture, and deals with the image modeling of randon texture image for searching the surface defects. For texture modeling, we consider the relation of a pixel and neighborhood pixels as noncasul model and extract the statistical characteristics from the radom texture field by using the 2D AR model(Aut oregressive). This paper regards on image as the output of linear system, and considers the fidelity or intelligibility criteria for measuring the quality of an image or the performance of the processing techinque. This study utilizes the variance of prediction error which is computed by substituting the gary level of pixel of another texture field into the two dimensional AR(autoregressive model)model fitted to the texture field, estimate the parameter us-ing the PAA(parameter adaptation algorithm) and design the defect detection filter. Later, we next try to study the defect detection search algorithm.

  • This work presents an algorithm for generating multi-RUN (m-RUN) deadlock avoidance policy based on simulated annealing algorithm. The basic idea of this method is to gradually improve the current m-RUN DAP after constructing an initial m-DAP by using simple m RUN DAPs. The search for a neighbor of the current m-RUN DAP is done by selecting and changing only one component of the current m-RUN, while accepting some unimproved solutions with some probability. It is examined for its performance by generating some sample system configurations.

  • The primary objective of this paper is to develop optimal algorithms of reinforced concrete frame structural systems by the limit state design(CP 1110) and to look into the possibility of detailed design of these structural systems. The structural formulation is derived on the finite element method. The objective of optimization of a reinforced structure for a specified geometry is mainly to determine the optimum cross-sectional dimensions of concrete and the area of the various sizes of the reinforcement required for each member. In addition to the detail s such as the amount of web reinforcement, cutoff points of longitudinal reinforcedments etc. are also considered as design variables. In this study, the method of "Generalized Reduced Gradient, Rounding and with Neighborhood search" and "the Sequential Linear Programming" are employed as an analytical method of nonlinear optimization.

  • In order to search for the reasonable planning directions for representing traditional landscape, this study conducted the comparative analysis of the designs on the panels and their constructions from both winners of "The Landscape Design Competitions for City Infrastructure of Minlak(2) District in Uijeongbu" and "The Design Competition for Dongtan(2) District Land Development Phase 1". The representing targets and views, the composition and placement of representing space, the design of representing facilities and landscape planting were examined based on the text, master plans, elevations and cross sections, diagrams, images, and perspective drawings proposed from the competition panels. Then, the landscape constructions were reviewed. The results are as follows: First, the types of the representing targets and views are the agricultural landscape, as the local landscape of target area, which are divided into the life space of a traditional village, the traditional water space, and the traditional culture. Second, as to the composition and placement of representing space, the traditional theme spaces are formulated considering the surrounding land use and the local cultural heritage. However, some spaces were changed to the exercise space or convenient facility spaces required in a neighborhood park. Third, in the case of the representing facilities, a round island in the square pond, a traditional pavilion and Hwagye(terraced flower bed) were made without the facilities designed creatively. Fourth, the application of traditional planting techniques was focused on planting trees in the village forest on an island in the square pond and on Hwagye. Fifth, the traditional representing work has gradually advanced with the selection of subject and experimental facility designs based on the professional references. Sixth, the choice of the realizable subject, the expertise for information analysis and the creative design of the traditional facility are required in the future.

  • A Clustering problem is one of the organizational problems to improve network lifetime and scalability in underwater acoustic sensor networks. This paper propose an algorithm to obtain an optimal clustering solution to be able to minimize a total transmission power for all deployed nodes to transmit data to the sink node through its clusterhead. In general, as the number of nodes increases, the amount of calculation for finding the solution would be too much increased. To obtain the optimal solution within a reasonable computation time, we propose a genetic algorithm to obtain the optimal solution of the cluster configuration. In order to make a search more efficient, we propose some efficient neighborhood generating operations of the genetic algorithm. We evaluate those performances through some experiments in terms of the total transmission power of nodes and the execution time of the proposed algorithm. The evaluation results show that the proposed algorithm is efficient for the cluster configuration in underwater acoustic sensor networks.
