근로자의 안전을 위한 경보시스템 구현 (Implementation of the Alert System for Safety of Workers)

  • 본 연구는 작업현장 내에서 일어날 수 있는 안전사고가 발생할 경우 이를 감지하여 빠른 조치를 취할 수 있도록 시스템을 구성하였다. 선행연구에서 구현된 시스템은 Star Topology방식의 무선 네트워크를 구성하였으나, 본 논문에서는 Peer-to-Peer Topology의 무선 네트워크를 구축하여 보다 효율적인 통신 네트워크를 구성할 수 있게 되었다. 또한 온도/가스센서와 기울기 센서를 이용한 2중 감지를 통해 작업자의 상황을 알리도록 하였으며, 빠른 판단과 신속한 조치를 할 수 있도록 모니터링 프로그램을 시각적 이미지화하여 사원의 개인 정보와 재난이 발생한 구역 등을 모니터링 하도록 설계하였다.

  • Maritime transport is dominant in the overall volume of all international transportation. Existence and overcoming of problems, which cause pressure on shipping safety, remain actual and fully concern both maritime and inland transport. Increasing speed and cargo capacity of the ships along with the reduction of crew members lead to the automation of a growing number of work processes, which indicates the need to actively introduce appropriate measures in the security system of sea-going ships and commercial ports and to develop modern approaches to minimize negative events and incidents in the process of ship operation. Advantages in use of modern methods of monitoring the safety of ship operations, management of possible events and incidents, including investigation of accidents, first, aimed at prevention of negative occurrences and ways of prevention on this basis. Considering statistics on incidents increase, this work presents analysis of general ship accident rate, study of major accidental events growth annually, and investigation of causes of incidents, which most frequently occur in port waters and at open sea. A survey of current approaches to ensuring the safety of shipping by implementing effective tools, such as event and incident management, has been conducted.

HACCP을 위한 차량용 온습도 모니터링 시스템 (The Monitoring System of Temperature and Humidity on Vehicle for HACCP)

  • HACCP이란 식품의 원재료부터 제조, 가공, 보존, 유통, 조리단계를 거쳐 최종소비자가 섭취하기 전까지의 각 단계에서 발생할 우려가 있는 위해요소를 규명하고, 이를 중점적으로 관리하기 위한 중요관리점을 결정하여 자율적이며 체계적이고 효율적인 관리로 식품의 안전성을 확보하기 위한 과학적인 위생관리체계라고 할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 HACCP의 체계적이고 효율적인 관리를 위해 식품의 유통 단계인 운송과정에서의 온도 및 습도를 측정하고, 이 정보를 통신망을 이용하여 주기적으로 서버에 전송하는 모니터링 단말기 및 이를 구현하는 firmware를 설계하였다. Sub-net에서 측정된 정보를 포함하여 단말기에서 전송된 데이터가 서버에 잘 저장되었으며 서버에서 보낸 응답도 단말기에 잘 수신됨을 확인하였다. 향후 이를 이용하여 식품의 이력관리 및 데이터 추적, 통계자료로 활용할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. 또한 본 시스템은 학교나 직장 등 단체 급식소, 원재료나 식품 보관 등의 물류창고 등에서도 응용할 수 있는 시스템이 될 것으로 사료된다.

전자해도 기반의 해상작업 모니터링 시스템 설계 및 구현 (Design and Implementation of Sea Operation Monitoring System based on ENC)

  • 해상작업 모니터링 시스템은 해상에서 수행될 수 있는 국가와 국가 간의 광케이블 매설 작업이나 낙도의 전기 공급을 위한 해저의 전선 매설 작업, 천연가스공사의 파이프라인 매설 작업 등 각종 해상작업에서 사용되는 선박 자동화를 위한 모니터링 시스템이다. 다양한 센서로부터의 입력과 환경 설정을 통해 얻어진 데이터를 가공 처리하고, 전자해도 데이터를 읽어 GPS의 위치정보와 함께 나타낸다. 또한, 작업과 관련한 루트파일의 정보를 오버레이해서 관련 데이터를 처리하며, 무선 네트워크 환경으로 구축된 무선접속장치(AP; Access Point)와 클라이언트 측의 휴대용 개인정보단말기(PDA; Personal Digital Assistants)를 무선 랜으로 연동시켜 실시간으로 정보를 처리하도록 하며, 유효 반경 내에서의 자유로운 이동을 가능하게해서 작업의 효용성을 높일 수 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 상황 하에서 해상작업과 관련한 모니터링 시스템을 임베디드 환경에서 설계 및 구현함으로써 선박 자동화와 선박의 안전 항해를 지원하고 해상에서의 작업 부하를 최소화시키며 사고 방지를 통한 선박의 경쟁력을 높일 수 있다.

Monitoring and Analysis of Galileo Services Performance using GalTeC

  • The paper will give an overview of the mission of GalTeC and then concentrate on two main aspects. The first more detailed aspect, is the analysis of the key performance parameters for the Galileo system services and presenting a technical overview of methods and algorithms used. The second more detailed aspect, is the service volume prediction including service dimensioning using the Prediction tool. In order to monitor and validate the Galileo SIS performance for Open Service (OS) and Safety Of Life services (SOL) regarding the key performance parameters, different analyses in the SIS domain and User domain are considered. In the SIS domain, the validation of Signal-in-Space Accuracy SISA and Signal-in-Space Monitoring Accuracy SISMA is performed. For this purpose first of all an independent OD&TS and Integrity determination and processing software is developed to generate the key reference performance parameters named as SISRE (Signal In Space Reference Errors) and related over-bounding statistical information SISRA (Signal In Space Reference Accuracy) based on raw measurements from independent sites (e.g. IGS), Galileo Ground Sensor Stations (GSS) or an own regional monitoring network. Secondly, the differences of orbits and satellite clock corrections between Galileo broadcast ephemeris and the precise reference ephemeris generated by GalTeC will also be compared to check the SIS accuracy. Thirdly, in the user domain, SIS based navigation solution PVT on reference sites using Galileo broadcast ephemeris and the precise ephemeris generated by GalTeC are also used to check key performance parameters. In order to demonstrate the GalTeC performance and the methods mentioned above, the paper presents an initial test result using GPS raw data and GPS broadcast ephemeris. In the tests, some Galileo typical performance parameters are used for GPS system. For example, the maximum URA for one day for one GPS satellite from GPS broadcast ephemeris is used as substitution of SISA to check GPS ephemeris accuracy. Using GalTeC OD&TS and GPS raw data from IGS reference sites, a 10 cm-level of precise orbit determination can be reached. Based on these precise GPS orbits from GalTeC, monitoring and validation of GPS performance can be achieved with a high confidence level. It can be concluded that one of the GalTeC missions is to provide the capability to assess Galileo and general GNSS performance and prediction methods based on a regional and global monitoring networks. Some capability, of which first results are shown in the paper, will be demonstrated further during the planned Galileo IOV phase, the Full Galileo constellation phase and for the different services particularly the Open Services and the Safety Of Life services based on the Galileo Integrity concept.

Novel Maritime Wireless Communication based on Mobile Technology for the Safety of Navigation: LTE-Maritime focusing on the Cell Planning and its Verification

  • Enhancing the performance of maritime wireless communication has been highlighted by the issue of cell planning in the sea area because of lack of an appropriate Propagation Loss Model (PLM). To resolve the cell planning issue in vast sea areas, it was essential to develop the (PLM) matching the intended sea area. However, there were considerable gaps between the prediction of legacy PLMs and field measurement in propagation loss and there was a need to develop the adjusted PLM (A-PLM). Therefore, cell planning was performed on this adjusted model, including modification of the base station's location, altitude, and antenna azimuth to meet the quality objectives. Furthermore, in order to verify the availability of the cell planning, Communication Service Quality Monitoring System (CS-QMS) was developed in the LTE-Maritime project to collect LTE signal quality information from the onboard equipment at regular intervals and to ensure that the service quality was high enough to satisfy the goals in each designated grid. As a result of verification, the success rate of RSRP was 95.7% for the intensive management zone (IMZ) and 96.4% for the interested zone (IZ), respectively.

  • Using GPS in the navigation systems such as aviation, maritime and land applications, integrity is considered importantly with accuracy for safety. Integrity monitoring performed in the GPS receiver itself is Receiver Autonomous Integrity Monitoring (RAIM) and need not an independent ground monitoring station. RAIM algorithm uses redundant information when more than four satellites are visible and makes consistency checks between measurement information to alarm users whether the system is operating out of its specified performance limits.   • There has been recent interest in intelligent vehicle technologies, such as advanced driver assistance systems (ADASs) or in-vehicle information systems (IVISs) that offer a significant enhancement of safety and convenience to drivers and passengers. However, unsuitable design of HMI (Human Machine Interface) must increase driver distraction and workload, which in turn increase the chance of traffic accidents. Distraction in particular often occurs under a heavy driving workload due to multitasking with various electronic devices like a cell phone or a navigation system while driving. According to the 2005 road traffic accidents in Korea report published by the ROad Traffic Authority (ROTA), more than 60% of the traffic accidents are related to driver error caused by distraction. This paper suggests the structure of vehicle environment for real-time driving behavior monitoring system while driving which is can be used the driver workload management systems (DWMS). On-road experiment results showed the feasibility of the suggested vehicle environment for driving behavior monitoring system.

고정밀 GPS 항법정보 기반 선박통항안전시스템 설계 (Design of Transportation Safety system with GPS Precise Point Positioning)

  • 해양 사고는 대부분 지형지물, 혼잡한 해상교통 및 기상악화 등에 의한 충돌 사고이다. 따라서 안전한 통항을 위해서는 정확한 정보를 토대로 사전에 통항안전을 판단하여야 하지만, 정보가 부족하거나 부정확하다면 통항안전 판단이 어렵게 된다. 따라서 다양하고 정확한 환경 정보를 토대로 사전에 통항안전을 정확하게 제공할 수 있는 시스템이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 선박의 통항안전을 예측하는 시스템을 구성하였다. 제안한 시스템은 항로 내 지형지물 정보에 대한 데이터베이스를 포함하며, 정확한 위치 정보를 토대로 현재 선박의 위치와 각 요소 사이의 수평 또는 수직 간격을 계산한다. 본 논문에서는 정확한 선박의 3차원 위치를 구하기 위하여, PPP 기반의 GPS 항법 알고리즘을 적용하였다. 또한, 기상악화로 인하여 시계가 불안정하더라도 항해가 가능하도록 데이터베이스 기반의 3차원 모니터링 기능을 추가하였다. 아울러 실제로 경인아라뱃길과 선박의 정보를 이용하여 시스템을 구성하고, 기능 및 성능을 평가하였다.

Implementation of Communication Network Utilizing AIS Technology

  • Automatic Identification System (AIS) is recently introduced to the maritime navigation systems. It is aimed to increase safety of vessels at sea by exchanging information to coastal monitoring stations. This article presents a ship traffic monitoring system by using the AIS information communication system using MS Visual C++. Then, the mobile Internet AIS introduced here is considerably improving and extending AIS functionalities compared to VHF AIS. When each ship is connected to the Internet network through the developed AIS system with her own client ID, all of her AIS information is surely sent to a server at her own base station by processing the information via the Internet network.
