대황을 이용한 견직물의 천연염색 (Natural Dyeing of Silk Fabric with Rheum undulatum L.)

  • The natural dyeing of silk fabric with Rheum undulatum L. extract was investigated. The proper colorant concentration, dyeing temperature, dyeing time, and pH for the dyeing of silk fabric with Rheum undulatum L. extract were 90% v/v, $90^{\circ}C$, 80 minutes and pH 3, respectively. In various mordanted methods, the K/S values of mordanted methods were higher than those of unmordanted methods. Light colorfastness of mordanted silk fabric was improved by mordanting. The antibacterial properties of dyed and mordanted silk fabric showed a high reduction rate, and Cu mordant was showed the most effective bacterial reduction.

압전 가진기와 압전 센서를 부착한 평판의 시스템 식별 (System Identification of a Plate with Piezoelectric Actuators and Sensors)

  • This paper proposes an identification method for modes of a thin plate where multiple actuators and sensors are bonded. When a natural frequency of a mode is decoupled from all other natural frequencies, the mode can be identified separatedly with a bandpass filter. Since a thin plate has resonant peaks at natural frequencies, the bandpass filter can be designed to extract the signal of the mode to be identified. Parameters of the second order linear differential equation of the mode can be obtained to apply the Least square method to the extract the modal signal. The proposed identification method is applied to an all-clamped plate with two pairs of piezoelectric actuators and sensors. The outputs of the identified model match with the experimental data well.

  • The methanol extract from the whole parts of the flowers of Chrysanthemum boreals was found to exhibit a significant inhibition of a rat lens aldose reductase (RLAR) activity in vitro. Bioassay guided systematic fractionation of the methanol extract led to the isolation of four flavonoids which were identified as acacetin (1), apigenin (II), luteolin (III) and linarin (IV). Compounds I-III were demonstrated to exhibit a significant inhibition of RLAR. Luteolin (II) was found to be the most potent AR inhibitor with $IC_{50}$ value of $5{\times}10^{-7}M$.

  • Antitumor activity was tested by administration of reaction mixture of green onion extract and chitin to mice bearing sarcoma-180 cells. An intraperitoneal injection of mixture(20 mg/kg/day) to mice Have an 52% inhibition of tumor growth. Inhibition of tumor growth was found to be dose-dependent. When eighty miligrams of the mixture were administered, the weight of tumor was reduced significantly. HPLC analysis indicated the mixture was composed of N-acetyl-D-glucosamine, N-acetylchitobiose and N-acetylchitotriose.

  • The cytotoxic and antitumor activity of Herba cratalariae sessiliflorae on cultured NIH 3T3 fibroblast and human oral epitheloid carcinoma cells were evaluated by 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyl-2H-tetrazoliumbromide (MTT) colorimetric method. The light microscopic study was carried out to observe morphological changes of cultured mouse fibroblast and human oral epitheloid carcinoma cells (KB). These results were obtained as follows; Ethyl acetate, chloroform and hexane extracts showed a significant cytotoxicity in NIH 3T3 fibroblast, but the other extracts did not show. All extracts exhibited a significant antitumor activity in human oral epitheloid carcinoma cells, but ethanol extract did not show a antitumor activity. Hexane extract showed low cytotoxic effect, but exhibited the most antitumor activity. The MTT absorbance in NIH 3T3 fibroblast was significantly decreased by treatment with chloroform, ethyl acetate and hexane extracts respectively. Human oral epitheloid carcinoma cells was significantly decreasd by treatment with all extracts with the exception of ethanol extract. The difference in MTT absorbance in two cell Types was most remarkable when treated with water and hexane extracts. Cholroform and hexane extracts showed the strongest effect in growth inhibition of human oral epitheloid carcinoma cells. These results indicated that water extract possessed no cytotoxicity and a strong antitumor activity.

Recovery Effects from Oxidative Cell Damage by So-Hap-Hyang-Won on Bovine Aortic Endothelial Cells (BAEC)

  • So-Hap-Hyang-Won, a traditional oriental medicine used in the treatment of stroke patients, was examined for its ability to reverse the cell damage caused by lipid peroxidation products and oxidative stress in bovine aortic endothelial cells (BAEC). The effects of herbal medicine on cell proliferation and recovery of oxidative damaged situation were studied in BAEC, which was considered an appropriate in vitro model for stroke resulting from various vascular diseases prevalent in advanced age. In a clinical study of stroke patients, So-Hap-Hyang-Won appeared to improve considerably arm and leg movements as well as consciousness disturbance condition, compared with other traditional medicines used for stroke. When BAEC were treated with extracts of the lyophilized herbal medicines, only that of So-Hap-Hyang-Won stimulated cell proliferation and showed no toxicity even at high concentrations. In studies of BAEC treated with extracts of the lyophilized material of the 14 components of So-Hap-Hyang-Won, only the extract of Foeniculi Fructus stimulated cell growth at all concentrations tested. Moreover, when cells were treated with Foeniculi Fructus (10 and 100 mg/ml) extract after prior exposure to t-BHP ($l0\mu\textrm{M}$) or HNE ($0.2\mu\textrm{M}$), lipid peroxidation products which are known to be involved in aging and vascular diseases, or after the exposure to SIN-l ($500\mu\textrm{M}$), which generates nitric oxide (NO) and other reactive oxygen species, there was substantial recovery from the oxidative damage, presumably due to the radical-scavenging effect of Foeniculi Fructus extract. Foeniculi Fructus not only showed stimulatory effects on cell growth and cell damage repair in BAEC, but also appeared to show the most anti-aging activity among all the herbal components of So-Hap-Hyang-Won.

천연제오라이트 세라믹볼을 이용한 곤충병원성 곰팡이 포자 생산 방법 (Culture Method of Spore for Entomopathogenic Fungus Using Natural Zeolite Ceramic Ball)

  • 본 곤충병원성곰팡이 B. bassiana M130의 포자를 대량생산하기 위한 방안으로 천연제오라이트 세라믹볼, 합성제오라이트 세라믹볼과 활성탄볼을 이용한 담체배양을 실시하였다. 그 중 천연제오라이트 세라믹볼 이용한 포자생산방법이 가장 우수 한 것으로 조사 되었으며, 배양 최적조건은 미강추출물(1:8, W/V) 3 mL, 전분 33 g, 포자현탁액 7 mL, pH3과 NaCl 5%로 배양하였을 때 B. bassiana M130 포자를 4.2×108 conidium/mL 생산하고, 사이클론 회수방법을 통해 순수포자만 63%의 회수율을 보였다. 향후 천연제오라이트 세라믹볼을 이용한 곤충병원성 곰팡이 B. bassiana M130 포자의 대량생산이 가능하며, 온실가루이제어용 친환경살충제로 제품생산 및 원제의 대량생산을 통해 국산화 가능성을 제안하고자 한다.

  • 식물 유래 화합물은 다양한 생리활성과 구조 다양성으로 많은 연구자에게 관심을 받고 있으나 화합물 분리는 많은 시간 소요, 과량의 유기용매 소모와 분리과정 중의 활성성분의 유실 등의 어려움을 겪게 된다. 이러한 점을 극복하기 위하여 HPLC/SPE/HPLC를 결합한 Sepbox 분리시스템을 이용하여 고추잎 추출물에서 288개 분획물을 획득하였고 이 중에서 alpha-glucosidase 저해효능을 가지는 화합물인 luteolin 7-O-glucoside를 효과적으로 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 고추잎에 풍부한 플라보노이드 다당체를 가수분해함에 따라 해당 활성이 증가함을 검증하였다. 그러므로 본 연구결과는 Sepbox 시스템이 생리활성 평가와 결합할 경우 식물 내 유용물질 탐색에 효과적임을 보여주었다.

16종 천연물 추출물의 여성질염 활성성분 및 면포 염착 효과 (Female Vaginitis Active Ingredients of 16 Kinds Natural Herbal Medicine Extracts and Dyeing Effect on Cotton Fabric)

  • 천연물 16종의 물 추출물 및 50% 에탄올 추출물들에 대한 기능성 활성성분 및 면포 염착효과를 알아본 결과, 색도 강도는 차이가 있었으나 적색 6종, 황색 5종, 오렌지색 2종 및 녹색 3종 이었고, 대체로 50% 에탄올 추출액의 색도가 높고 선명하였다. 이와 같은 천연물들의 물 추출물 및 50% 에탄올 추출물에 면포 거즈를 2일간 침지하여 염색한 결과 염색효과는 대체로 양호하였으며, 실온에서 건조 후 개봉하여 보관하여도 색도의 퇴색 감소는 거의 없는 것으로 관찰되었다. 천연물 16종의 물추출물의 pH는 중성 내지는 약산성으로 피부에 부작용이 없는 중성~약산성 범위였다. DPPH 유리라디칼 억제 항산화효과는 시료 별로 50% 에탄올 추출물의 효과가 물추출물에 비하여 양호하였고, 특히 황금, 유백피, 유근피, 박하, 홍화 등의 효과가 양호하였다. 폴리페놀 함량도 대체로 50% 에탄올 추출물의 함량이 물 추출물에 비하여 높은 경향이었고, 특히 금은화, 유근피, 황금, 유백피, 홍화 등의 효과가 양호하였다. 따라서 천연물 16종 추출물에 대한 항산화 활성과 여성질염 예방의 상관 관계를 규명하고자 하였다.
