  • The most important goal of records management is to document the administrative responsibility of the institution producing records and its history. For this purpose, each institution needs to make a plan determining kind and value of phenomena and evidences to be documented, that is, a plan for documentation. This study was aimed to present its necessity and stretagy, focussing on the documentation of correlations with external factors surrounding National Assembly (external relations). Through literature survey, external relation functions of congress and important sources associated with their functions were analyzed. and what records were produced from those sources was investigated in the case of U.S. Congress. Comparing with the present state of National Assembly on this basis, four significant subjects to activate the external relations documentation plan in the point of institutional policy of National Assembly were proposed : legislation of documentation program of external relations, acquisition policy, advocacy enforcement for National Assembly Documentation, and establishment of cooperation and support systems with external factors.

  • Objectives: Socioeconomic disadvantages interact with numerous factors which affect geriatric mental health. One of the main factors is the social relations of the elderly. The elderly have different experiences and meanings in their social lives depending on their socio-cultural environment. In this study, we compared the effects of social relations on depression among the elderly according to their living arrangement (living alone or living with others) and residential area. Methods: We defined social relations as "meetings with neighbors" (MN). We then analyzed the impact of MN on depression using data from the Korean Longitudinal Study of Aging Panel with the generalized estimating equation model. We also examined the moderating effect of living alone and performed subgroup analysis by dividing the sample according to which area they lived in. Results: MN was associated with a reduced risk of depressive symptoms among elderlies. The size of the effect was larger in rural areas than in large cities. However, elderly those who lived alone in rural areas had a smaller protective impact of MN on depression, comparing to those who lived with others. The moderating effect of living alone was significant only in rural areas. Conclusions: The social relations among elderlies had a positive effect on their mental health: The more frequent MN were held, the less risk of depressive symptoms occurred. However, the effect may vary depending on their living arrangement and environment. Thus, policies or programs targeting to enhance geriatric mental health should consider different socio-cultural backgrounds among elderlies.

  • Purpose: This study was to explore elderly people's elder abuse experiences, and the relations between the abuse experiences (direct and indirect) and their level of activities of daily living, family relations and self-integrity. Method: A descriptive survey was conducted, and the participants were 108 elderly people. Data were analyzed using SPSS by descriptive statistics and t-test. Result: It was that indirect abuse experiences of the elder was higher than direct abuse experiences. In this research, the most common kind of direct elder abuse was 'psychological abuse and negligence', and the severity was low. The largest portion of indirect abuse experiences belonged to 'physical abuse and negligence', and the severity was high. The older people who had direct abuse experiences showed lowered self-integrity and serious family problems and stress. Conclusion: The experiences of elder abuse showed differences in family relations and self integrity. Hence, there should be a nursing intervention improving psycho-social factors such as self integrity and family relations, and systematic and easily available supporting organizations for victims of elder abuse.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of interpersonal relationships and communication curriculum on interpersonal relations and self-esteem. Method: This study employed a two-group pre-post test study design. Data was collected from 70 subjects from April to June, 2006 at C university in Jeju, Korea. Forty subjects were in the control group and 30 subjects were in the experimental group. A structured curriculum was conducted for the experimental group once a week for 12 weeks, but not for the control group. For both groups the scores of interpersonal relations and self-esteem were measured before and after the curriculum. Data was analysed by $X^2$-test, t-test, paired t-test and Pearson correlation with SPSS. Results: The scores of interpersonal relations and self-esteem significantly increased in the experimental group. There were significant positive correlations between interpersonal relationships and self-esteem. Conclusion: In light of these results, interpersonal relationships and communication curriculum have a positive effect on interpersonal relations and self-esteem. Therefore, this study can provide basic data and direction in developing and applying a curriculum in education.

  • This paper presents an analytical solution to predict magnetic field distribution of permanent magnet synchronous motor equipped with surface-mounted magnet by using transfer relations in terms of two-dimensional model in polar coordinates. The analytical results are validated by comparison with finite element analyses (FEA).

  • Hospitals under competitive environment are getting more interested in PR(public relations) as a means of marketing. A typical form of public relations for the hospital is publicity, and its principal instrument is the press release that provides the mass media with the raw material and background for a news story. The purpose of this paper is to examine and analyze the public relations articles associated with hospitals in the section of health care in major daily newspapers. Three major daily newspapers, Chosun, Joongang and Hankyoreh have been analyzed for a year from January 1, 1998 to December 31, 1998. All articles in the health care section are classified by content, size, press comments, and style. This study has found some perverse aspects of the public relations such as the preponderance of health articles on tertiary medical institutions, inappropriate publicity focused on certain medical treatments, doctors, and hospitals, and the positive press comments on the hospitals that are affiliated with the same corporate group as the newspaper.

  • The purpose of this study is to compare the peer relations of the gifted students in science and ordinary students. To this study, the questionnaire to access students' satisfaction with their peer relations, students' feeling of loneliness, and the quality of peer relations was conducted to the subjects of 147 gifted students in science and 253 ordinary students in Korea. In the peer relations at the ordinary class, the significant difference between them was found in the students' feeling of loneliness, so the gifted students showed a little lower feeling of loneliness than the ordinary students. Also, the significant difference was found in the quality of peer relations. In the perception of the gifted students' peer relations at the gifted and ordinary class, satisfaction with their peer relations and the quality of peer relations were showed the significant differences. There was more mutual peer relations between the gifted than the ordinary students.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of youth voluntary on sense of citizenship, positive self-perception, and peer relations, which procedures was conducted by being comparison between middle school students and high school ones. This study also use the data given by 2st of the Seoul Education Longitudinal Study(SELS), which subjects were 7,593 youths(3,566 in middles school students and 4,027 in high school ones). The most significant variable for youth's peer relations was sense of citizenship both middle school and high school student, which indicates not only that it is encouraged by sense of citizenship but also that developing and leading the sense of citizenship for youth should be given by the school welfare policy. Positive self-perception in middle school youth influenced the second effect on their peer relations, but high school student's peer relation was impacted by the voluntary service into a secondary effect.

  • It is hewn that we can apply algebraic attacks on combiners with memory such as summation generators. [1,8] To apply algebraic attacks on combiners with memory, we need to construct algebraic relations between the keystream bits and the initial bits of the LFSRs. Until now, all known methods produce algebraic relations involving several consecutive bits of keystream. [l.4.8] In this paper, we show that algebraic relations involving only one keystream bit can be constructed for summation generators. We also show that there is an algebraic relation involving only one keystream bit for ISG (9) proposed by Lee and Moon. Using this fact, we analyze the keystream generators which generate the keystreams by combining summation generators.
