약학사 분과학회의 창립과 비전 (Establishment and Vision of Pharmacy History Division of The Pharmaceutical Society of Korea)

  • The spring convention of the Pharmaceutical Society of Korea (PSK), composed of eight symposia and two special symposia, was held at the K Seoul Hotel on April 17th and 18th in 2014. During the convention, the board meeting of PSK officially approved the birth of Pharmacy History (PH) Division as one of 19 divisions of PSK on April 17th. In the morning of April 18th, an inaugural symposium of PH division was held at the hotel with a theme of "History of Pharmacy in Korea". In this article, the establishment of PH division, content of the 1st symposium will be described. The future vision of PH division, which will be focused on the study of modern history rather than that of old history, will be described as well. The introduction of modern pharmacy education system to Korea and various events that happened during the establishment of the system may represent issues that should be investigated with the highest priority by the PH division.

농림수산식품분야 정보처리를 위한 적응하는 분기히스토리 길이를 갖는 분기예측 메커니즘 (A Branch Prediction Mechanism With Adaptive Branch History Length for FAFF Information Processing)

  • Pipelines of processor have been growing deeper and issue widths wider over the years. If this trend continues, branch misprediction penalty will become very high. Branch misprediction is the single most significant performance limiter for improving processor performance using deeper pipelining. Therefore, more accurate branch predictor becomes an essential part of modem processors for FAFF(Food, Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries)Information Processing. In this paper, we propose a branch prediction mechanism, using variable length history, which predicts using a bank having higher prediction accuracy among predictions from five banks. Bank 0 is a bimodal predictor which is indexed with the 12 least significant bits of the branch PC. Banks 1,2,3 and 4 are predictors which are indexed with different global history bits and the branch PC. In simulation results, the proposed mechanism outperforms gshare predictors using fixed history length of 12 and 13, up to 6.34% in prediction accuracy. Furthermore, the proposed mechanism outperforms gshare predictors using best history lengths for benchmarks, up to 2.3% in prediction accuracy.

A History of Researches of Jumping Problems in Elliptic Equations

  • We investigate a history of reseahches of a nonlinear elliptic equation with jumping nonlinearity, under Dirichlet boundary condition. The investigation will be focussed on the researches by topological methods. We also add recent researches, relations between multiplicity of solutions and source terms of tile equation when the nonlinearity crosses two eigenvalues and the source term is generated by three eigenfunctions.

A History of Researches of a Nonlinear Wave Equation with Jumping Nonlinearity

  • We investigate the history of the research of the existence of periodic solutions of a nonlinear wave equation with jumping nonlinearity, suggested by Mckenna and Lazer (cf. [15]). We also investigate the recent research of it; a relation between multiplicity of solutions and source terms of the equation when the nonlinearity -($bu^+$-$au^-$) crosses eigenvalues and the source term f is generated by eigenfuntions.

2009 개정 초등 과학교과서의 과학사 도입 내용과 과학의 본성 분석 (Analysis of the Introduced Contents and the Nature of Science on the History of Science in Elementary School Science Textbooks according to the 2009 Revised Curriculum)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 2009 개정 초등 과학교과서의 과학사 도입 내용과 이에 반영된 과학의 본성 요소를 분석하는 것이다. 분석을 위해 우선 2009 개정 초등 과학교과서 8종을 새롭게 도입된 학년군과 내용 영역에 따라 과학사의 도입 자료와 제시형태를 도출하고 보다 체계적이고 심층적인 분석을 위해 과학사와 관련된 내용을 박세기, 이기영, 이면우(2011)가 개발한 3차원 조합 분석틀을 이용하여 과학사의 도입 내용을 분석하고, Leite(2002)가 개발하고 최윤희(2005)와 정고은(2013)이 수정한 분석틀을 보완하여 과학의 본성 요소를 분석하였다. 이 연구의 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 2009 개정 초등 과학교과서에 제시된 과학사 자료는 총 26개로 학년군 및 내용 영역별로 자료의 분포가 고르지 않았다. 둘째, 전체 48개의 3차원 조합 유형 가운데에서 오직 13개 유형만 사용되고 있어 특정 유형에 편중하여 과학사를 도입하고 있었다. 셋째, 과학사 자료에 반영된 과학의 본성 요소가 학년 및 영역별로 고르게 분포되지 않았다. 결론적으로 과학사를 통해 과학의 본성을 이해하고 과학적 소양을 함양하기 위해서는 2009 개정 초등 과학교과서에서의 학년군과 내용 영역을 고려하여 다양한 유형의 과학사 자료를 도입해야 하고, 과학의 본성 요소를 적절히 반영하도록 교과서 도입에 있어 보다 다차원적인 접근이 이루어져야 할 것이다.

Natural History of Unruptured Intracranial Aneurysms : A Retrospective Single Center Analysis

  • Objective : We conducted a retrospective cohort study to elucidate the natural course of unruptured intracranial aneurysms (UIAs) at a single institution. Methods : Data from patients diagnosed with UIA from March 2000 to May 2008 at our hospital were subjected to a retrospective analysis. The cumulative and annual aneurysm rupture rates were calculated. Additionally, risk factors associated with aneurysmal rupture were identified. Results : A total of 1339 aneurysms in 1006 patients met the inclusion criteria. During the follow-up period, 685 aneurysms were treated before rupture via either an open surgical or endovascular procedure. Six hundred fifty-four UIAs were identified and not repaired during the follow-up period. The mean UIA size was $4.5{\pm}3.2mm$, and 86.5% of the total UIAs had a largest dimension <7 mm. Among these UIAs, 18 ruptured at a median of 1.6 years (range : 27 days to 9.8 years) after day 0. The annual rupture risk during a 9-year follow-up was 1.00%. A multivariate Cox proportional hazards analysis revealed that the aneurysm size and a history of subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) were statistically significant risk factors for rupture. For an aneurysms smaller than 7 mm in the absence of a history of SAH, the annual rupture risk was 0.79%. Conclusion : In our study, the annual rupture risk for UIAs smaller than 7 mm in the absence of a history of SAH was higher than that of Western populations but similar to that of the Japanese population.

Verification and validation of isotope inventory prediction for back-end cycle management using two-step method

  • This paper presents the verification and validation (V&V) of a calculation module for isotope inventory prediction to control the back-end cycle of spent nuclear fuel (SNF). The calculation method presented herein was implemented in a two-step code system of a lattice code STREAM and a nodal diffusion code RAST-K. STREAM generates a cross section and provides the number density information using branch/history depletion branch calculations, whereas RAST-K supplies the power history and three history indices (boron concentration, moderator temperature, and fuel temperature). As its primary feature, this method can directly consider three-dimensional core simulation conditions using history indices of the operating conditions. Therefore, this method reduces the computation time by avoiding a recalculation of the fuel depletion. The module for isotope inventory calculates the number densities using the Lagrange interpolation method and power history correction factors, which are applied to correct the effects of the decay and fission products generated at different power levels. To assess the reliability of the developed code system for back-end cycle analysis, validation study was performed with 58 measured samples of pressurized water reactor (PWR) SNF, and code-to-code comparison was conducted with STREAM-SNF, HELIOS-1.6 and SCALE 5.1. The V&V results presented that the developed code system can provide reasonable results with comparable confidence intervals. As a result, this paper successfully demonstrates that the isotope inventory prediction code system can be used for spent nuclear fuel analysis.

커밋 히스토리에 기반한 버그 및 커밋 연결 기법 (A Technique to Link Bug and Commit Report based on Commit History)

  • 커밋-버그 링크는 커밋히스토리(commit history)와 버그 리포트(bug report) 간의 연결(Link)을 뜻한다. 커밋-버그 링크는 소프트웨어 유지보수와 결함 예측, 버그 추적 시스템(Bug Tracking System)에 이용이 되며, 특히 결함 예측 측면에서는 성능면에서의 기반이 된다. 일반적으로 링크를 자동으로 연결하는 방식은 텍스트 유사도(text similarity)나 시간 간격(time interval), 키워드(keyword) 등을 통해서 추출하였다. 하지만 기존 방식은 커밋히스토리(commit history)의 질적인 부분에 의존적이기 때문에 다수의 링크를 놓치게 된다는 단점이 존재한다. 본 논문에서는 커밋히스토리의 메시지(message)부분에만 의존하지 않고, 버그리포트에서 연결된 커밋히스토리의 파일간의 유사도를 이용하여 링크를 연결할 수 있는 방식을 제안하고 실험을 통하여 본 기법의 적용성을 보인다.

국내 지역건축역사 연구자원의 아카이브 구축 환경 변화 (Changes in the Archive construction environment of Local architectural history research resources in Korea)

  • Recently, local studies looking at the 'local(region) as a whole' are gradually increasing. The study of local architectural history is important in that it provides specific information that encompasses the local and the entire and clues to three-dimensionalize the time and space in the local. To infer the 'presentness' of each era, reliable data in various fields are needed. Recently, as many databases (DB) and archives, from the 'National Archives of Korea' to other local archives, have been established and publicized, research resources in the local are growing rapidly in quantity and quality. Nevertheless, it is difficult to comprehensively check the data necessary to study the local architectural history(local architectural history research resources). Against this background, this study confirmed the trend of changes in the archive construction environment and the status and problems of local architectural history research resources in places that currently disclose local history research resources among generalized web-archives. Next, the relationship between the actual research on local architectural history was confirmed through the analysis of existing studies and the data used for Jeju. As a result, local studies, local archives, and local architectural history research agree with recent changes in local research trends, and the degree of archival construction has reached the same level as the available research resources except core data in local architectural history research. However, there is a problem that the density of information that can be used is low because the local architectural history research resources that can be obtained are fragmented because there are no archives and construction entities specialized in local architecture. As each archive has entered the stabilization and upgrading stage, the construction of new archives needs to be reconsidered, but it is time to find a detailed way to link related information quickly and accurately, such as private records, to reduce the gap in information needed in terms of research on local architecture and architecture history.
