  • The OECD launched the Education 2030 project to develop a learning framework and to conduct the international comparative study on curriculum. As a part of the OECD international curriculum analysis, Korea Institute for Curriculum and Evaluation(KICE) conducted a main study of Curriculum Content Mapping (hereafter, CCM) in the 7 learning areas/subject areas such as national languages, mathematics, humanities/social sciences, natural science, physical education/health, arts, and technologies. The CCM study aimed to identify how the competencies on CCM framework were reflected in the Korea curriculum. For this purpose, KICE identified the competencies on CCM framework, revised the coding framework, and undertook the mapping process. In this study, we gathered the CCM data as an evidence of how competencies on CCM framework were embedded in the 2015 revised mathematics curriculum. For this purpose, experts in mathematics education undertook the mapping process, we summarized the results of CCM main study in mathematics. As the results, numeracy, critical thinking, problem solving, anticipation, action, reflection were perfectly embedded in the 2015 revised mathematics curriculum. the competencies on CCM framework were embedded in the 2015 revised mathematics curriculum, and but literacy, physical/health literacy, trust, learning to learn, reconciling tension and dilemmas, literacy for sustainable development, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship/enterprising were not clearly related to mathematics curriculum. The mapping results should help the Korea Ministry of Education and KICE for preparing the future curriculum revision and development.

  • Rapid growth of the higher education role in ensuring the socio-economic and innovative development of the national economy in the context of the development of the information society and the knowledge economy is observed. Achieving positive synergistic effects of the higher education development requires proper funding for university education and research. The existing funding models for national higher education systems in a number of developing countries need modernization in accordance with the modern challenges of economic and innovative development. The purpose of the article is to formulate theoretical - methodological and applied foundations for the development and implementation of the integrated model of the higher education financing under the Quadruple Helix concept. At the center of the developed model are the areas of interaction identified by the authors, namely: Personnel, Science, Management, Innovation, Social area. This made it possible to specify the interests of all stakeholders and orient the activities of higher education institutions to the satisfaction of these interests. Effective implementation of the integrated Model of the higher education financing requires increasing the level of investment attractiveness and practical value of university research; activation of innovative development of enterprises; state stimulation of business participation in university research and education; harmonization of current legislation with EU standards. Implementation of the Model will diversify sources of funding for universities, increase their level of economic security and achieve integrated synergies from the interaction of universities, business, government and the public (as the main stakeholders within the Quadruple Helix concept).

  • Today the system of higher education needs significant reforms. Intellectualization of the educational process in HEIs aims to improve the quality of educational services. Intellectual information technologies are information technologies that help a person to accelerate the analysis of the political, economic, social, and technical situation, as well as the synthesis of management decisions. The basis for their mastery is information and communication technologies. The purpose of the research work is to identify the relationship between the introduction of information and communication technologies and the increase in the level of intellectualization of higher education. The article substantiates the expediency of introducing information and communication technologies in order to improve the intellectualization of the educational process in higher education. An empirical study of the variables that characterize the level of intellectualization of higher education through the proposed techniques has been conducted. The tendencies characteristic of pedagogical conditions of implementation of information and communication model in the educational process were revealed. It is proved that the level of intellectualization of higher education depends on the implemented pedagogical conditions. The effectiveness of the proposed information and communication model is also confirmed. Given the data obtained during the study and the low constraints that may affect the results of further research on this issue should focus on the study of other variables that characterize the state of intellectualization of the educational process.

  • This study aims to analyze the digital performance of Kazakhstan through dynamic analysis of national statistics and international indices as Global Innovation Index and ICT Development Index. The research combines three stages: analysis of digital transformation policies performance, review of ICT industry development, and comparative analysis of the positions of Kazakhstan, Turkey and South Korea as a benchmark in the international indices. This research findings show that despite great efforts of Kazakhstan in digitalization, the ICT industry contribution does not increase, it even falls. The international indices demonstrate that the reason is the weakness of the country in skills, venture capital, and innovation linkages. This leads to low knowledge, technology outputs, and creative outputs. The enablers of digital and overall innovation advancement of economy are identified. According to the international rankings the country has been doing its best in Access and Use areas. Another enablers are good business environment, ease of starting a business, protecting minority investors, and FDI inflows. The findings help to draw recommendations for strategic directions in order to improve the digital performance in Kazakhstan. The main limitation of this study is a lack of dynamic information on positions of Kazakhstan in other international indices related to digitalization.

  • Purpose: On the basis of the theoretical framework of a combination of Roy's adaptation theory and Lazarus & Folkman's theory of stress - appraise coping, the purpose of this study was to predict effect factors of adaptation to university life of Chinese international students in Korea. After this, a model of adaptation to university life of Chinese international students in Korea was constructed. Methods: A questionnaire was used to survey 369 Chinese international students from one university in Korea, which was analyzed by using PASW Statistics 18.0 and LISREL 8.7. Results: This theoretical model explained adaptation to university life of Chinese international students at 75.0% in Korea. Physical symptoms, loneliness, acculturation stress and self-efficacy directly affected the adaptation to university life. Korean language proficiency indirectly affected adaptation to university life through self-efficacy. Conclusion: Results of this study provided theoretical basis for the future health care of university- centered health centers. For improving adaptation to university life of Chinese international students in Korea, education and nursing measures for reducing physical symptoms, loneliness and acculturation stress, and improving Korean language proficiency and self-efficacy are proposed for further research and development.
