  • A optical head unit for nano optical probe array was developed. The optical probe array is generated by Talbot effect. The shape and thickness of microlens array(MLA) were designed to minimize the spot size at the foci of MLA. To increase the optical efficiency of the system and obtain the large tolerance for fabrication, aperture size was theoretically optimized. Then microlens illuminated aperture array(MLIAA) as an optical head unit was fabricated using a ultra violet(UV) molding process on aluminum aperture array. In this process, Al aperture array was fabricated separately using the photolithography and reactive ion etching(RIE) process. Optical properties of the generated optical probes were measured and compared at Talbot distance from the aperture array having a diameter of $1{\mu}m$ and MLIAA.

  • In the present study, for first time the size dependent vibration behavior of a rotating functionally graded (FG) Timoshenko nanobeam based on Eringen's nonlocal theory is investigated. It is assumed that the physical and mechanical properties of the FG nanobeam are varying along the thickness based on a power law equation. The governing equations are determined using Hamilton's principle and the generalized differential quadrature method (GDQM) is used to obtain the results for cantilever boundary conditions. The accuracy and validity of the results are shown through several numerical examples. In order to display the influence of size effect on first three natural frequencies due to change of some important nanobeam parameters such as material length scale, angular velocity and gradient index of FG material, several diagrams and tables are presented. The results of this article can be used in designing and optimizing elastic and rotary type nano-electro-mechanical systems (NEMS) like nano-motors and nano-robots including rotating parts.

  • In this paper we describe the status of a silicon-based microelectrode for neural recording and an advanced neural interface. We have developed a silicon neural probe, using a combination of plasma and wet etching techniques. This process enables the probe thickness to be controlled precisely. To enhance the CMOS compatibility in the fabrication process, we investigated the feasibility of the site material of the doped polycrystalline silicon with small grains of around 50 nm in size. This silicon electrode demonstrated a favorable performance with respect to impedance spectra, surface topography and acute neural recording. These results showed that the silicon neural probe can be used as an advanced microelectrode for neurological applications.

  • By employing a quasi-3D plate formulation, the present research studies static stability of magneto-electro-thermo-elastic functional grading (METE-FG) nano-sized plates. Accordingly, influences of shear deformations as well as thickness stretching have been incorporated. The gradation of piezo-magnetic and elastic properties of the nano-sized plate have been described based on power-law functions. The size-dependent formulation for the nano-sized plate is provided in the context of nonlocal elasticity theory. The governing equations are established with the usage of Hamilton's rule and then analytically solved for diverse magnetic-electric intensities. Obtained findings demonstrate that buckling behavior of considered nanoplate relies on the variation of material exponent, electro-magnetic field, nonlocal coefficient and boundary conditions.

  • For heat-assisted magnetic recording, magnetization reversal probabilities of nano-Pt/MnSb multilayer film with perpendicular magnetic anisotropy under thermal pulse activation were investigated numerically by solving the Landau-Lifshift Gilbert Equation. Magnetic parameters of nano-Pt/MnSb multilayer were used with anisotropy energy of $3{\times}10^5$ erg/cc and saturation magnetization of 2100 G, which offer more than 10 y data stability at room temperature. Scheme of driven magnetic field and thermal pulse on writing mechanism was designed closely to real experiment. This study found that the chosen material is potential to be used as a high density magnetic storage that requires low writing field less than two-hundreds Oersted through definite heating and cooling interval. The possibility of writing data with a zero driven magnetic field also became an important result. Further study is recommended on the thickness of media and thermal pulse design as the essential parameters of the reversal magnetization.

  • An injection molding is necessary to mass-product for micro-nano system, so micro-nano mold must be developed for injection molding. The micro-nano mold has precision and strength to overcome a surround of injection. So in this paper, two methods were used. First, after etching the Al, Ni was electroplated in etched AI. The other, LIGA method was used. A temperature and thickness of Ni are important factors in these methods. So after fabrication, the simulation was processed to find optimal thickenss of Ni and temperature.

  • Porous carbon materials were prepared with a thermal treatment of coal tar pitch at 550 in the Ar gas. Growth, merger, and distribution of pore were characterized with scanning electron microscopy as variation ascending temperature gradient and chamber pressure. After graphitizing at the 2600 (1 hr.), walls and connecting parts between pores were investigated with X-ray diffraction patterns. Wall thickness and pore size decreases as increasing ascending temperature gradient, and pore size becomes homogeneous. Graphite quality and thermal conductivity become higher due to the enhanced orientation of walls and connecting parts between pores.

  • We have developed a practical printing technology for the gate electrode of organic thin film transistors(OTFTs) by combining screen-printing with wet-etching process using nano-silver ink as a conducting material. The screen-printed and wet-etched Ag electrode exhibited a minimum line width of ~5 um, the thickness of ~65 nm, and a resistivity of ${\sim}10^{-6}{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$, producing good geometrical and electrical characteristics for gate electrode. The OTFTs with the screen-printed and wet-etched Ag electrode produced the saturation mobility of $0.13cm^2$/Vs and current on/off ratio of $1.79{\times}10^6$, being comparable to those of OTFT with the thermally evaporated Al gate electrode.

  • The materials showing high structure dispersion with functional properties were developed on the quartz base and those were obtained by mechano-chemical reaction technology. Depending on the processing conditions and subsequent applications the materials produced by mechano-chemical reaction show concurrently magnetic, dielectric and electrical properties. The obtained magnetic-electrical powders classified by aggregate complex of their features as segnetomagnetics, containing a dielectric material as a carrying nucleus, particularly the quartz on that surface one or more layers of different compounds were synthesized having thickness up to 1050nm showing magnetic, electrical properties and others. The similarity of the structure of surface layers of quartz particles subjected to mechano-chemical processing and nano-structure cluspol (clusters in a polymer matrics) material was alsoconfirmed by the fact that the characteristics of ferromagnetic quartz of insulating nano-composite powder were changed with time, after its preparing process was completed.

  • Fabrication of a nano-laminar ceramic composite by sintering thin ceramic plates was examined. Silver-coated glass flakes with a thickness of less than $1{\mu}m$ were consolidated by pulsed current sintering or hotpressing to obtain model composites. The samples sintered at the optimum conditions were fairly dense, and the flakes were aligned by uniaxial press. The metal coating remained on the flakes through the sintering process, and became an interface layer between the flakes. No crack propagation through the transverse direction of the lamellar was observed in the indentation test. The possibilities of high resistance against crack propagation was suggested.
