Shielding Effectiveness of Electromagnetic Interference in ABS/Nickel Coated Carbon Fiber and Epoxy/Cu-Ni Fabric Nano Carbon Black Composites (ABS/Nickel 코팅 탄소섬유와 Epoxy/Copper-Nickel 직조 섬유 복합재료의 전자파차폐 효과)

  • Electromagnetic interference(EMI) shielding effectiveness(SE) was investigated in of woven fabric made of epoxy/copper-nickel fabrics and nickel coated carbon fiber reinforced acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene(ABS) composites. The coaxial transmission line method was used to measure the EMI shielding effectiveness of the composites. We designed and constructed a measuring system, consisting of a network analyzer and a device that plays the serves as a sample holder and at the same time as a transmission medium of the incident electromagnetic wave. The measurement of SE were carried out frequency range from 100MHz to 2GHz. It is observed that the SE of the composits is the frequency dependent increase with the increase in nickel coated carbon fibre volume fraction. The nickel coating with 20wt% ABS composite was shown to exhibit up to 60dB of SE. The result that nickel coated carbon fibre ABS composite can be used for the purpose of EMI shielding as well as for some microwave applications.

  • BCY($Ba(Ce_{0.9}Y_{0.1})O_{3-\delta}$) oxide, shows high protonic conductivity at high temperatures, and are referred to as hydrogen separation membrane. For high efficiency of hydrogen separation ($H_2$ flux and selectivity) and low fabrication cost, ultimate thin and dense BCY-Ni layer have to be coated on a porous substrate such as $ZrO_2$. Aerosol depostion (AD) process is a novel technique to grow ceramic film with high density and nano-crystal structure at room-temperature, and would be applied to the fabrication process of AD integration ceramic layer effectively. XRD and SEM measurements were conducted in order to analyze the characteristics of BCY-Ni membrane fabricated by AD process.

HMDS Treatment of Ordered Mesoporous Silica Film for Low Dielectric Application (저유전물질로의 응용을 휘한 규칙성 메조포러스 실리카 박막에의 HMDS 처리)

  • In order to reduce signal delay in ULSI, an intermetal material of low dielectric constant is required. Ordered mesoporous silica film is proper to intermetal dielectric due to its low dielectric constant and superior mechanical properties. The ordered mesoporous silica film prepared by TEOS (tetraethoxysilane) / MTES (methyltriethoxysilane) mixed silica precursor and Brij-76 surfactant was surface-modified by HMDS (hexamethyldisilazane) treatment to reduce its dielectric constant. HMDS can substitute $-Si(CH_3)_3$ groups for -OH groups on the surface of silica wall. In order to modify interior silica wall, HMDS was treated by two different processes except the conventional spin coating. One process is that film is dipped and stirred in HMDS/n-hexane solution, and the other process is that film is exposed to evaporated HMDS. Through the investigation with different HMDS treatment, it was concluded that surface modification in evaporated HMDS was more effective to modify interior silica wall of nano-sized pores.

Study on the Growth of Monoclinic VO2 Phase Applicable for Thermochromic Ceramic Tile

  • Vanadium dioxide ($VO_2$) of monoclinic phase exhibits Metal Insulator Phase Transition (MIPT) phenomenon involving a sharp change in electrical and optical properties at $68^{\circ}C$. Solution-based process is applied to form uniform $VO_2$ coating layer on ceramic tiles. This can selectively block the near-infrared light to possibly reduce the energy loss and prevent dew condensation caused by the temperature difference. Heat treatment conditions including temperature and dwell time were examined to obtain a monoclinic $VO_2$ single phase. Both rutile and monoclinic $VO_2$ phases were observed from in the tiles post-annealed below $700^{\circ}C$. Desired monoclinic $VO_2$ single phase was grown in the tiles heat treated at $750^{\circ}C$. Nano facets of irregular size were observed in the monoclinic $VO_2$ phase involving the phase-transition. Grain growth of monoclinic $VO_2$ phase was observed as a function of dwell time at $750^{\circ}C$.

  • DLC(Diamond Like Carbon) 박막은 높은 경도, 낮은 마찰계수, 내화학성 등의 우수한 트라이볼로지적 특성을 가지고 있기 때문에 다양한 산업분야에서 적용되고 있다. 이러한 DLC 박막은 합성기구나 구조의 관점에서 몇 가지 다른 이름으로 불려지기도 한다. 밀도와 경도가 높기 때문에 경질탄소(Hard Carbon)라고도 불려지며, 수소를 함유한 경우에는 수소함유 비정질 탄소(Hydrogenated Amorphous Carbon)이라는 이름이 사용되며, 고밀도 탄소(Dense Carbon) 또는 고밀도 탄화수소(Dense Hydrocarbon)라고 불리기도 한다. 이렇듯 DLC 박막은 합성방법에 따라 함유된 수소와 탄소의 결합구조의 차이가 있다. 수소 함유한 DLC 박막은 20~50%까지 수소를 함유하며, DLC막의 기계적, 광학적, 전기적 특성들이 수소함량과 밀접한 관계를 가지고 있는 것으로 알려져 있다. 그러나 함유된 수소가 $300^{\circ}C$ 이상의 온도에서는 쉽게 결합에서 이탈되면서 흑연화와 더불어 마찰마모시 코팅층의 파손이 발생한다고 보고되고 있고, 또한 수소량이 증가함에 따라 DLC 박막의 경도는 감소하게 되는데, 이는 수소에 의해 dangling bond가 Passivation되면 탄화수소의 3차원적인 Crosslinking은 그만큼 감소하게 되기 때문이라고 알려져 있다. 본 연구에서는 PECVD를 이용하여 여러 가지 공정에 따른 DLC 박막을 증착시켰으며, 수소함유량에 따른 DLC막의 구조와 그에 따른 경도 변화를 살펴보았다. FTIR(Furier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy)과 Raman Spectroscopy을 이용하여 DLC막의 수소의 결합상태를 관찰하였으며, Nano Indentation을 사용하여 미소경도를 측정하였고, FE-SEM을 이용하여 표면과 단면을 관찰하였다. 막의 두께 측정에는 ${\alpha}$-Step을 사용하였으며, Ball-on-Disk 타입의 Tribo-meter을 이용하여, 모재의 경도에 따른 마찰계수 변화를 관찰하였다.

Soft Mold Imprinting Fabrication of Anti-reflection Film using Self-Organized Nanostructure Polymer Surfaces Irradiated by Ion Beams (이온빔 처리된 폴리머 표면의 자가나노구조화를 이용한 반사방지 필름 제조용 소프트 몰드 임프린팅 연구)

  • Soft mold imprinting method that uses nanostructured polymer mold was investigated for anti-reflection film fabrication. The nanostructured soft mold was polyethylene terephthalate(PET) irradiated by oxygen ion beams. The collisional energy transfer between oxygen ion and the polymer surface induced cross-linking and scission reactions, resulting in self-organized nanostructures with regular patterns of the wavenumber of $5{\mu}m^{-1}$. Post processes including ultra-violet curable resin coating and delamination fabricated anti-reflection films. The imprinted resin surface also showed the consistent wavenumber, $5{\mu}m^{-1}$. Pristine PET, oxygen ion beam treated PET, and imprinted replica sample showed total transmittance of 91.04, 93.25, and 93.57-93.88%, respectively.

  • Optical and mechanical properties of diamond-like carbon (DLC) films synthesized by RF plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition were investigated as a function the C/H ratio in gas mixture. The C/H ratio was varied from 6 to 10 %, adjusting the amount of $CH_4$ and $H_2$ as the source gas. The optical and mechanical properties of DLC films were characterized by UV spectrometer, Ellipsometer and Nano-indenter. The change of the C/H ratio during synthesis of DLC films had many effects on the growth rate, transmittance, refractive index and hardness. The growth rate of the films increased exponentially with the increase in C/H ratio. The hardness of the films showed the tendency to improve with increasing C/H ratio, whereas the transmittance decreased. The refractive index was varied from 2.03 to 2.17, and these refractive indexes close to 2.0 indicates that it can be applied to Si-based solar cell.

Detected of accumulation condition in observing Surface Pressure change by stimulus reaction of Langmuir (L) and Spin-Coating film. Therefore AFM by this confirm and compared.

  • In this study, characteristics of silver ink-jet printing were investigated under various substrate treatments such as substrate heating, hydrophobic coating, and ultraviolet(UV)/ozone soaking. Fluorocarbon(FC) film was spin-coated on the polyimide (PI) film substrate to obtain a hydrophobic surface. Although hydrophobicity of the FC film could reduce the diameter of the printed droplets, the singlet images printed on the FC film surface showed irregularities in the pattern size and the position of the printed droplet along with droplet merging phenomenon. The proposed UV/ozone soaking of the FC film improved the uniformity of the pattern size and the droplet position after printing and substrate heating was very effective way in preventing droplet merging. By heating of the substrate after UV/ozone soaking of the coated FC film, silver conductive lines of 78-116 ${\mu}m$ line were successfully printed at low substrate temperatures of $40^{\circ}C$.

Polishing of Oxide film by colloidal silica coated with nano ceria (나노 세리아 입자가 표면 코팅된 콜로이달 실리카 슬러리의 Oxide film 연마특성)

  • 100, 200nm 크기의 colloidal silica 각각에 나노 ceria 입자를 수열합성법으로 코팅하였다. Colloidal silica 입자에 ceria를 코팅 시 slurry의 pH조절과 수열처리에 이용하여 silica에 ceria가 코팅됨을 TEM과 zeta-potential을 이용하여 확인하였다. 연마 슬러리의 분산 안정성과 연마효율을 높이기 위하여 슬러리의 pH 는 9로 하였으며, 이때의 zeta-potential 값은 -25 mV이었다. 1 wt%로 제조된 연마슬러리를 이용하여, 4 inch $SiO_2$, $Si_3N_4$ wafer를 압력변화에 따른 연마특성을 관찰 하였다. Ceria coated colloidal silica 100 nm, 200 nm와 commercial한 $CeO_2$입자를 연마압력 6 psi로 oxide film을 연마한 결과 연마율이 각각 2490 ${\AA}/min$, 4200 ${\AA}/min$, 4300 ${\AA}/min$으로 측정되었다. 또한 $SiO_2$, $Si_3N_4$ film의 6 psi압력에서 ceria coated colloidal silica 100 nm, 200 nm와 commercial 한 $CeO_2$입자의 선택비는 3, 3.8, 6.7 이었다. 입자크기가 클수록 연마율이 높으며, Preston equation을 따라 연마 압력과 연마율이 비례하였다.
