  • In this paper, we analyze the performance of a cooperative communication wireless network over independent and identically distributed (IID) Nakagami-m fading channels. A simple transmission scheme is considered where the relay is operating in amplify-forward (AF) mode. A closed-form expression for symbol error rate (SER) is obtained using the moment generating function (MGF) of the total signal to noise ratio (SNR) of the transmitted signal with binary phase shift keying (BPSK).

  • In this paper, we analyze the queueing performance of cumulative distribution function (CDF)-based opportunistic scheduling over Nakagami-m Markov fading channels. We derive the formula for the average queueing delay and the queue length distribution by constructing a two-dimensional Markov chain. Using our formula, we investigate the queueing performance for various fading parameters.

  • In this paper, we analyzed the orthogonal MC DS-CDMA system and no-overlapping MC DS-CDMA System, which were divided by the normalized spacing between adjacent subcarrier over Nakagami-m fading channels. In order to reduce the number of selective paths occurring in the MC system, the Hybrid SCMRC technique was applied, which was compared with the case when the MRC technique was used. As a result of simulations, it was found that the Hybrid SC/MRC method could be replaced by the MRC method and if the number of subcarriers was increased when the given bandwidth was fixed, the interval between subcarriers increased and bigger bandwidths were required. an, the number or subcarriers should be selected in consideration or given bandwidth.

  • In this paper, we investigate the security performance for cooperative networks over Nakagami-m fading channels. Based on whether the channel state information (CSI) of wiretap link is available or not, optimal relay selection (ORS) and suboptimal relay selection (SRS) schemes are considered. Also, multiple relays combining (MRC) scheme is considered for comparison purpose. The exact and asymptotic closed-form expressions for secrecy outage probability (SOP) are derived and simulations are presented to validate the accuracy of our proposed analytical results. The numerical results illustrate that the ORS is the best scheme and SRS scheme is better than MRC scheme in some special scenarios such as when the destination is far away from the relays. Furthermore, through asymptotic analysis, we obtain the closed-form expressions for the secrecy diversity order and secrecy array gain for the three different selection schemes. The secrecy diversity order is closely related to the number of relays and fading parameter between relay and destination.

  • In multicarrier code division multiple access(MC-CDMA), the total system bandwidth is divided into a number of sub-bands, where each subband may use direct-sequence(DS) spreading and each subband signal is transmitted using a subcarrier frequency. In this paper, the system performance analysis of MC-CDMA using to gain combining(EGC) and maximal ratio combining(MRC) method over frequency selective Nakagami-m fading channel is analyzed. In the proposed system, a data sequence is serial-to-parallel converted, and MC-CDMA is used on each of the parallel data streams. The data streams are spread at both the symbol fraction level and at the chip level by the transmitter. In this paper, the compare to analysis, two standard diversity combining techniques, EGC and MRC, The good performance of system using to MRC more than EGC

  • In this paper, the closed form expression for the average bit error probability(BER) is derived for diversity reception using an L-branch maximal ratio combining(MRC) system which has same fading index and different fading index. Also, the BER to have same average power and Nakagami m-distribution for a generalized selection combining(SC) is derived, whereby the signal with the largest amplitude is selected from the original diversity branches in the channel, the order statistics is applied. Especially, when L is 1 in a selective diversity, the derived expression leads to that of DPSK in which SC is not applied in Nakagami fading. Changing the diversity branch L and fading index m, we compare the performance of MRC and SC.

  • In this paper, we analyzed the throughput of DS/CDMA system applying packet combining scheme combined with Type- I Hybrid ARQ scheme over AWGN channel and Nakagami fading channel with RAKE receiver. As the parameter for analysis, we used number of combined packet(L), number of diversity branch$({L_c})$, fading index(m), and length of packet(N), and used CRC-12 error detection code and (2,1,3) convolutional code. As a results, we found that throughput of system over Nakagami fading channel with RAKE receiver was superior to throughput over AWGN channel, and throughput of system decreases rapidly as channel degrades when number of combined packet(L) was increased. However throughput of system with the combining scheme was achieved even at low ${E_b}/{N_o}$. Also, we found that throughput of system was increased when fading index(m) and number of diversity branch$({L_c})$ were increased, but it was decreased when number of user(K) and length of packet(N) were increased.

  • This paper proposes a Truncated Type-II Hybrid ARQ scheme using an adaptive modulation system to achieve high throughput data transmission systems for mobile communication systems. In this paper, the adaptive modulation system analyzed in Nakagami (m-distribution) fading channel environment. The adaptive modulation system controls the modulation level and symbol rate according to the Nakagami fading parameter(m). When the received $E_bN_0$ is high or the Nakagami fading parameter m is high, the propose system selects higher modulation level and higher symbol rate to increase throughput. On the other hand, this system selects lower modulation level and lower symbol rate to prevent throughput performance degradation when the received $E_bN_0$ is low. The modulation method have been adopted QPSK(Quadrature Phase Shift Keying), 16 QAM(Quadrature Amplitude Modulation), 64 QAM, 256 QAM. Therefore, Adaptive Modulation Systems with Truncated Type-II Hybrid ARQ Scheme is proper for mobile and radio for mobile and radio data communication system that require high reliability and delay-limited applications.

  • In this paper we analyze the performance improvement of the M-ary FSK systems for low power and low data rate applications. This contribution presents a unified analysis of its MRC diversity, uncoded and performance in A WGN, m=2, m=3, Rayleigh and one sided Gaussian fading channels using optimum noncoherent demodulation with Reed-Solomon(RS) codes. The results of this paper should be useful as benchmarks of obtainable performance and as a reference for validating the results of simulation studies when slow fading models are applicable.

  • In this paper, we derive the theoretical Symbol Error Probability (SEP) of cooperative systems with best relay selection for Nakagami-m fading channels. For Amplify and Forward (AF) relaying, the selected relay offers the best instantaneous Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) of the relaying link (source-relay-destination). In cooperative networks using Decode and Forward (DF), the selected relay offers the best instantaneous SNR of the link between the relay and the destination among the relays that have correctly decoded the transmitted information by the source. In the second part of the paper, we derive the SEP when all participating AF and DF relaying is performed. In the last part of the paper, we extend our results to cognitive radio networks where there is interference constraints : only relays that generate interference to primary receiver lower than a predefined threshold T can transmit. Both AF and DF relaying with and without relay selection are considered.
